In a poetry-writing mood...
So, for your scrutiny, I present to you my latest poem. I'm not sure it'll work too well for lit. class, but I like the way it turned out in any case.

I wish for wings
with which to fly,
but not this stuffy,
earth-bound sky.

The space of mind
is all I see;
can't I make these thoughts
a reality?

Crying out in the rain,
fall to mud-stained knees,
memories of tomorrow--
just not what I need.

The slender shadows
of the setting sun
show me the present,
and what can be done.

They tell me, so solemn,
I can't fly away,
not until I've fixed
the broken today.

I like it more every time I read it. I started out with such a different emotion than what I finished with... But maybe you didn't notice. Oh well. Tell me what you honestly think, now. I might make you tell me one thing bad about it before you're allowed to compliment me. I can tell when you're being honest, too. Don't think I can't! -_O (Moody eye--HP reference, if you didn't get it, I can't explain...)
