SIC Day I: Meira
It's hard to stay focused... I so wish to post a scathing rant about the offenses against grammar and style committed by a country song I heard on the radio, but no. I must restrain myself.
Ahem. Meira. One of my slightly older characters. He very well represents most of my self-inserts: male, femmy, sweet, dependent, stubborn. Meira began as my way of getting to Nanba (of Hana Kimi--very good shoujo series, I recommend it). Sure, the doctor is hot and is actually a gay character, but Meira is not his type at all. And Nanba is more fun, more of a challenge. And he reminds me of Hyde. *heart*
Meira is a bit short (of course), with dusty dark brown hair that at one point was down past his waist and worn braided, and later on he gets it cut to a cute little bob with long bangs curled inward at the ends (I would stick a picture in here but my scanner's covered in crap and I'm lazy). He has dark blue eyes, even though he's Japanese. He's sepsal like that.
Meira's cousin Ranka (taller then Meira and three years older, longish, reddish hair, more athletic) lived in America because his parents died (how? Doesn't matter yet, so I don't know) and no one in the family was able to take custody, so he was adopted by some American folks when he was six or seven. His foster family then had to move, and ended up in Alabama, where the family became highly devoted and conservative Christians (like the rest of the town). While at the local high school, Ranka realized that *gasp* he was gay and had a crush on one of his friends, and he got a lot of crap for it. But he's a tough guy and can hold his own, and he didn't let it bother him, so eventually the threats died down to a minimum, as often happens when the one being threatened could easily beat up the ones threatening. Then Meira and his parents thought, Maybe I/Meira could go and stay with Ranka for a year as an exchange student! So he did. Unfortunately, poor Meira, being so femmy, got picked on a lot and depended on Ranka for support and protection. When the year was finally over the two were best friends and Meira felt a tad more self-confident.
Finally, here is where Meira meets Nanba. They bump into each other on the street, and Nanba just happens to be wearing his school uniform (errands, they catch you by surprise >.o)... So dear Meira is able to track him down. And from then on he just follows Nanba everywhere, annoying him and Nakao muchly so. But Meira's a persistent little bugger, and by the time the two of them are out of high school he has Nanba wrapped around his little finger, and they move in together. Unfortunately, what Meira doesn't know is that Nanba is dating women behind his back. When Meira finds out, they get into a fight and Meira runs off feeling completely rejected. He's on his way to commit suicide by jumping in front of a train *gasp*, but ends up unsure and stops in a bar to get a drink first (not an alcoholic one, though). Guess who's there in the bar... Ono, from Antique Bakery! I loved this guy too much to not give him a little part in all this. He's just too irresistable. Anyway, "Yue" manages to pick Meira up on the rebound (poor Mei was very lonely) and after a night together, as Ono goes to leave, he gives Meira the words of self-confidence he needs to move on and enjoy his life. After this the experience is not repeated (Mei wasn't really Ono's type, after all... he just felt sorry for the poor little guy), but Meira becomes a bit of a player himself. He gets a haircut, and goes from long braid to short bob, and starts dating guys and even having more one-night stands. One fateful day, though, Meira is working the cashier at the clothing store where he...works, and who should enter the establishment but Nanba! There is a tearful reunion, many apologies are exchanged, and Meira deserts his nightlife and goes back to his happy existence with his beloved--but not before thanking Ono with a drink, of course.
While all this is happening, or rather way back during their school years, Ranka comes to visit Meira after he graduates and ends up with Umeda. Probably not permanently, but whatever. Not every romance has to be ever-after, does it?
*deep breath* Yeah, most of the stories are that long. But it gives me something to do, and helps me organize my thoughts. I love excercising my imagination and letting it roam the wide open fields. It's fun. I recommend doing it at least once on a daily basis.
Happy V-Day, y'all. Especially Exo. *hug and kiss* Heh, as if I hadn't already lavished an excess of love upon you. Ah well, a little more can't hurt.
Katsucon... *vibrates with excitement*
