The I Hate Physics Rant:
Hehe, here's a taste of phy-sucks at Mines:
We have these online homework problems called LON-CAPA. We have to do them every week (btw, doing them during the week is STRONGLY advised!). This week, there were 6 problem sets with 5 or less problems in each one. My roommie and I worked for 7 hours straight on them and have only finished 3/4 of the problems. Yeah. They suck. Really really bad. So I hate physics at Mines. T_T

On a lighter note, my neighbor and I are going to see Hoodwinked now. Bye!

Break is over.... T__T My sad rant:
The break is officially over... school starts tomorrow. I'm really sad, actually. Thought I was ready to come back, but no. Not at all. I REALLY don't want to go to class again. That's probably not a good thing, ne? But physics, calc II, chem II, quant lab, epics, PE II, and Japanese II are gonna be hard!!

Oi, the last part of the break was kinda sucky. I mean, I did get to hang out with friends, so that was cool (and definitely needed), but I was also pretty depressed about some stuff. Some of it was coming back, some was scholarships and trying to find a job to pay for this stinkin' expensive school... and some of it was "tree" stuff. Heh, inside joke... sorry. But it's all kind of overwhelming right now. Eh, but I'll get through it, I suppose. School will get easier once there's a routine going again, and for the other stuff... we'll see what happens.
I shall smile! ^_____^ ...see? Words to live by--"don't cry because it's over, laugh because it happened" ne?

On a brighter note, my roomie and I rearranged our room again. Now it's a bit more spacious. And we have fun posters. I have my world map, an X poster and some other anime things, and she has a Chicken Little poster and a dog one... all on the same wall. Pretty funny, ne? She also has a big American flag. Hehe, I wanna get a big Japanese one, too. ^^

Well, I have an 8:00 class tomorrow, so I should get going. Hope you all have a good one! Thanks for stopping by! ^^

Gazette
Hehe, here's a pic of Gazette (the visual kei band I mentioned in the previous post). It's a wallpaper I made. ^^

   Stuff
(Seeing as I haven't updated for a while, this is gonna be REALLY random. hehehe ^^)
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year!!
I didn't do too much over the break... didn't even get all the stuff that I wanted to done. Oh, well. Looking on the bright side, I finished a couple art projects, finished Gundam Seed, made some AMVs, finished Memoirs of a Geisha, spent some time with friends, got an mp3 player for Christmas... ya! That's pretty good. ^^ Oh! And I got a sewing machine! ^^ (actually my dad's idea. Funny, ne?) Finally, I can make my costumes on a machine that WORKS!! W00t!

Unfortunately, I didn't get to visit everyone as much as I hoped. >.< Sorry 'bout that. But thanks for the nice coments and stuff.

Hmm, now I'm kinda ill-- tired, sore throat, sneezing... ya... >.< Stupid colds. And now I'm wondering if I didn't get what my roomie had. Waaa. Don't wanna do anything! --.-- zzzz Been looking at cosplay pics and Harajuku pics. I wanna go to Harajuku!! Some awesome, freaky costumes there, but so cool! Visual-kei-like. ^^ Hehe, speaking of visual kei, been listening to Gazette recently. Specifically "Cassis." Very good song and music video. ::drools::

What else? Showed my friend Loveless yesterday. She loves it, too!! Except the end. It is a pretty bad ending. But the rest is sooo good! ^__^ And they're finally bringing the manga to the US!! Yay!

That's the end of my rambling for today, I think. ^^ Oh! And Ayumi Hamasaki's "No More Words" is a beautiful song! Ya, now I'm done. Have a good one! ^_~

   Projects!
Yaaaaayyy!! I'm so happy. I created my first AMV today. ^__^ It's one of Loveless set to "A Thousand Words" by Savage Garden. Took a rather long time to complete, but I'm really happy with it!! Hehe, I might even submit it to NDK next year...

Oh! And my other project... ::points to avi:: A little drawing to start of the break. I miss drawing... Anyway, the full version is in fanart, it you want to check it out... ^^

And, since it's break, hopefully I can visit you all SOON!!!! I'm excited to read your posts and see your new work, since I haven't been able to do much of that lately. So, yeah. ^__^

It's rather late, so I should get going. Later! And have a great day! ^_~

I'M DONE!!!!! My finals/end-of-semester rant:
Yay! I'm done with finals. Today officially marks the end of first semester at Mines! Now I must rant about the finals. Sorry...
Calc, 8:00 am, Saturday morning. Why do they make us get up that early in the morning just to screw ourselves over on the test? Yeah, that was horrible. Goodness, I'd been getting A's on the previous ones, but noooooo. Study all day Friday and they give us crazy hard stuff that makes no sense. "The first final will definitely kick your butt." Now I understand why this is Mines.
Chem final, 8:00 am, Monday morning. I actually got sleep last night, so I was in a much better "test-taking mood." Baka me goes to the wrong room and has to run to the right one... The test honestly wasn't bad, though. I felt pretty good about it.
Econ final, 1:00 pm, Monday. Heh heh... yeah, it's econ. Econ is not fun. I was able to answer everything (thank goodness I studied the graphs!), but I kind of doubt I got all the points any of the problems... except a few. Eh, that's econ--I don't understand it, never will, don't particularly care.

Over all, the semester went fairly well. Only got seriously depressed a couple times, during which I had friends, family and faith to lean on. I've made great friends here, especially with my roomie and neighbors. ^^ And, of course, it's just great to be part of the huge variety of people here (at least compared to my hs). ^__^ And I've laughed a LOT here. Possibly even more than I do with Satsuki back home, which is amazing. ::grins at happy memories of luchtime::

Well, all this basically means:
I'm going to stay here! This is my home now, so... "Secant, tangent, cosine, sine! 3.14159! GO MINES!!!" ^_____^

   Mines Quotes
Mmm. Coffeeeeee! I love coffee. Coffee is my friend. Is coffee your friend, too?
--Jess Jess

Yay for shooting ourselves! --Me

It’s times like these that I want to jump off of a bridge for the fun of it. --Jackie

Lying is bad. Lying to the government is worse. –Me (Talking about ROTC)

My parents will personally murder me and burry me with the utmost disdain. –Jackie (talking about ROTC)

(Said to passing cars) Hit me, pleeeeeaaaaase!! --Everyone

So you open up the HUGE Engineering Textbook, you flip through and see all these numbers, letters, and symbols, and you think, “Wait a second. This isn’t a Bible. Why are they talking about sin?” –Deryk

“Oh, geeze, I’m really at Mines, aren’t I?” –James (referring to the last entry)

Shoot me, please.
Only if you shoot me first. –Everyone

We can't do simple math anymore, but we sure can figure out the huge complex problems. Yeah, we're engineers. --Jackie

(referring to the 25 point essay question on the Chem test) Blah blah blah what the heck does this mean blah blah blah I’ve had it, I am screwed blah blah blah thank heavens for partial credit blah blah blah. --Pavelich

These are from the Mines Glossary of Terms:
“Names” of courses: Physucks (physics), Diffy-Screw (differential equations), Goddamics (dynamics), Sadistics (statistics), Chem-mystery

Coors Lab—taking the short tour of the Coors Brewery to get a free sample at the end

Bite Me—letter of rejection received when applying for employment

Extendo-Bite-Me—A letter stating the company is still reviewing your qualifications

Engineering estimate—a wild guess. Also known as a SWAG

Squid—student who spends excessive time studying rather than developing important social skills.

Close enough for tunnel work—as near to the correct answer as you want to get.

And here are some “Mines turndowns” that my roomie and I thought up after studying a REALLY long time for the first Chem test:
Sorry, I’m only interested in ions and molecular equations.

I only do empirical formulas, and you’re not an empirical formula. (Did I mention we came up with these while being sleep deprived?)

We get on too many tangents with our relationship. Don’t you know that the derivative of tangent is secant… see can’t you see that that send the wrong sine? (REALLY sleep deprived. And yes, the derivative is really secant squared…..)

I talk about linear equations in my sleep.

So, yeah. There’s another laugh for you, I hope. Have a good one!

   Lots of stuff
Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been visiting your sites lately!! I really need to set some time aside each week to do that, because you are all very important to me.

I want to thank my friend Mariskah again for sending me such a cute e-card! She's such a kind, caring person. ^^ (Go check out her site, too, if you haven't before. She's got some great fan art and awesome wallpapers!)

Hmm, what else... I got to see Hokuto-chan (from the convention) again this weekend. It was her birthday, soooo, yeah, that was fun. We decided who we're cosplaying next year... Natsuo and Youji (the first Zero team) from Loveless. ^__^ I'm so excited...already!! Then I got to see my friend from high school the next day. W00t!! So, for sure, this was a good weekend. (Except never forget to call your mother when she's expecting you to call her because you arrived safely.... yeah, that's a bad bad thing to do. ::sweatdrop::)

Yeah, I suppose that's about it. School's as busy as ever. I'm thinking about taking some extra CRAZY hard classes next semester, so that's kinda freaking me out. Hehe, why do I do this to myself? lol! But clubs are great, especially kendo! And classes aren't that bad, considering they're almost over. ^^ Yay!! Just lots of end-of-the-semester cramming and projects (finals start Sat. Dec. 10, and continue the next week)... ::Cries and thinks "Not bad? Yeah, just keep telling yourself that.....":: lol!

Well, I hope you are all doing well! I'll try to come visit you this weekend! Have a great week!

Secant, Tangent, Cosine, Sine! 3.14159! GO MINES!!
Yeah, that's actually a cheer here. Sad, isn't it? But I really do love the geekiness at this school. I fit in... :-P

Well, here's a little update on my life. The past weeks have been kinda bad... not enough sleep, so I was rather grouchy. >_< I've been feeling like I'm falling apart recently, even though I'm having a really great time here. So Katie (my prayer leader, I guess you could call her) took me to her "quiet place" up in the mountains Fri. Yeah, that was really nice. It's kind of like a Catholic sanctuary, and it's really nice, even tho I'm not Catholic. Then, today there was a prayer meeting and worship music night at Green Center. Plus my mom came to visit me today. So I definitely got a good recharge this weekend! I'm a lot better now! ^^ So what do you, as a reader, get from all my rambling? I guess I'd say, when you're feeling really down, take some time to be still and by yourself someplace. It's hard, but it really helps!

Oh! And a COMPLETELY different topic. I need your opinion on something. Hehe, don't laugh, even tho it's really kinda dumb.... Okay, I have been growing my hair out since 8th grade to be about as long as Duo's. I'm about five inches short now, but anyway, I said I'd never cut it until it got that long. Well, it's getting awfully annoying now. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna cut it to about shoulder length and donate it to Locks of Love. The only things keeping me from cutting it are my sentimental attachment, as well as a couple cosplay ideas... :-P (geez am I sad or what?) So I need your input: should I even cut it? (I know Satsuki has threatened me with injury if I do....) And when should I (next year before I *hopefully* go to Japan again, Christmas break or Thanksgiving break)?
Thanks!
Have a great day and week!! ^__^
