Also
I wanted to thank all those who visited my new fan art. I was surprised to get so many comments in one day. ^^ Thanks for being constructive and not taking the pic too seriously or voting it down because of the content! It's a way to get bad feelings out, I suppose, so... Yay for drawing/painting/writing poetry/all forms of expression. ^^
Anybody know a good way to paint realistic hair?? I really do have a problem with that.
Later.... again....

You know you're too old for trick-or-treating when...
...You drive yourself and friends to the neighborhoods where you can go trick-or-treating.
...The person handing out candy is younger than you.
...

Yeah, but it's still fun anyway. A bunch of us went, too. Most of our hall and some others. Fun fun. My roommate borrowed my blue cat-ear wig and wore her black formal dress, my neighbors were a skunk and scientist, and I cosplayed yet again. Duo this time... Haha, didn't have to put the braid up in a wig this time. ^^ Maybe when I get over the fear of my card reader corrupting my camera's pic card and making it utterly useless, I'll post some pics. (yeah, that happened to my expensive one. Thank goodness I got it replaced!)
After making several people laugh and getting very strange looks, we came back to the dorms and watched The Village. Didn't particularly like it, but then again I'm not a fan of those types of movies. Even tho it wasn't scary or anything... Eh, my opinion.
Hope everyone had a nice Halloween! And a great first day of November. Later!!

   Homecoming
Hehe, so we're having our homecoming here at Mines now. The theme this year is pirates--"Yo ho! Yo ho! A pirate's (crossed out and written "miner's") life for me!" We get prizes and stuff for either having school spirit or dressing as a pirate. I have some friends that are going all out tomorrow. ^^ That'll be cool. Oh, and they've taken over the M, too. Our mountain has a big M on it that lights up at night.... well, it now says "Yo Ho" Fun, ne? And they played Pirates of the Caribbean yesterday.
But anyway, a friend and I decided last minute (last night) to cosplay One Piece as our "school spirit" for today. I'll take any opportunity to cosplay!! It's simple and easy to make on a low budget and no time.
So this is my one day cosplay, me as Luffy and my friend as Shanks:

The back was just for fun, so I'd be a little more recognizable. ^^ Once again, putting the long braid up wasn't fun. It's hidden in the hat....

   Advent Children
Holy cow!! I just got back from the anime club's showing of FFVII: Advent Children. WOW!!! I don't know what to say. It was amazing and I loved it! I'm sure, had I ever played the game, it would have made much more since to me, but I'm a deprived child who's never played any FF. Even so, I followed if pretty well, knowing most of the charas from conventions and such.
The animation was wonderful!! And the fight scenes were very well done, intense and really cool. ^^
So, definitely, if you get a chance go see it. When it comes out... ^^' Go buy it, too. ^^

   Con Report
Sorry it took me a week to get to this. But I had two exams this week, so studying took up some time.

Nan Desu Kan 9, 2005, held at the Marriott in the Denver Tech Center. Bigger hotel, smaller convention rooms, but it was all good. This was the first year I was able to stay *at* the con hotel. It was so nice! For me, this was the best con so far. Granted it’s only my fourth and I’ve only been to NDK, but it was great!

Fri, I had clac until four, so I got there a bit late. Got the room and changed into costume. Eventually, I found the cosplay contest line, which was very very long. I didn’t make it in, since they cut it off at 75 people, but I did meet Hokuto!! We basically hung out the rest of the weekend. Oi, I’ve never had so many people want to take pictures. This was probably the simplest costume I’ve ever made, too! LOL!! Just goes to show that you don’t have to have a flashy costume to be recognized. It was even better on Sat when Hokuto was actually cosplaying. We hung out pretty much all day, so people easily recognized us as brother and sister. Oh, oh! On Fri, we met an older Subaru and Seishiro. Ooh, they made a good cosplay group, except Subaru should have been innocent Subaru rather than broken Subaru… with her personality and all. ^^ Okay, back to Sat. We found a whole bunch of TB cosplayers, so we all got together and did a huge photo shoot! ^^ Hmm, the panels that I went to were good—stuff like “How to Live in Japan” and “Voiceover Workshop with Toshifumi Yoshida.” Got to see Brad Swaile, Monica Rial, Carrie Savage, Deb Rabbai, and Trevor Devall. The dealer’s room was overwhelming again. Too many cool things to buy. Ended up getting a couple manga, a Loveless artbook, a Hyde poster, a GLAY CD, some pins and a keychain. Oh, and ramune for my roommate and neighbor. ^^ The cosplay contest went well. There were many good ones this year! Good job to all of them!
The costume I was wearing for Sat ended up falling apart by 5, so I changed back into innocent Subaru, and Hokuto, older Subaru and Seishiro had a good time teasing me. ^^;; Hokuto did a good job of being my sister for the weekend. This was the fist time I’ve ever actually *cosplayed* in the real meaning of the word—where you actually play out your character. It was just so easy to be Subaru. Oi, I knew what Hokuto was going to say, and I still blushed! lol!
Sun. was depressing. By the end of the day, nearly everyone was gone, and there were few still in costume. ::sniff, sniff:: And Hokuto-chan left me. Then I had to come back to school. ::waterfall of tears:: However I got to relive some memories at Kendo talking to some people who were there. That was fun.
Well that’s about it. Sorry it’s so sporadic. I just typed what came to mind. ^^;;

Later, and have a great day!!

   Test... or
Heh, heh.... college life is great until you get to the tests, ne? We had our first one--the Chemistry Exam--today at 7:30. And a chem test at Mines is not fun. I can say with some confidence that I passed, but I'm not sure by how much, even though I was up to midnight studying for the past few days. Suppose I have to get used to not getting straight A's anymore. "We can give you harder problems than any other college because you can handle it. [We expect you to handle it.]"
Well, it's over. And I'm happy. We just got back from Cold Stone Ice Cream, to celebrate living through the exam. Now all of us engineering majors are going to throw a bouncy-ball back and forth for a while. Yeah.

Eh, some rather interesting quotes came out of our late nights and fried brains... things that fit into the categories "You know you go to Mines when..." and "Mines turn-downs" and other completely random stuff. Perhaps I'll post some later.

FINALLY!!!! NDK is tomorrow!!! I have never looked forward to a con this much. That's sad. But anyway, I'll let you all know how it goes. And I'll tell you about clubs and other fun stuff later. Gotta run now!

Have a great day!!!!

   Cosplay
Yay! I got some of the cosplay pics loaded. Both Subaru costumes are on there, as well as my Miroku one (the first costume I ever made). If I ever get around to it, I'll try to add Duo's costume, too. Hehe, the sole reason I'm growing my hair out long.... ::laughs::
But anyway, enjoy!

By the way, if you haven't tried cosplaying, you really should! It's very much worth the money it takes to make the costumes--it makes cons all the more enjoyable. ^_^ And really, you don't need to know how to sew. I've basically had no experience on the sewing machine besides these costumes and a couple pillows, so I'm sure you could pull something off! ^_^ Just go for the simpler costumes to start out with. Well, enough of my rambling tips, ne?

Thanks so much for stopping by! It really means a lot, especially because I know many of you are busy with school now.

Oh, and if you want to go check it out, I added a new fan art.

That's all, really. Have a good day!!

School song
Here's something to make you laugh. And yes, this *is* actually our school song:

Oh! I wish I had a barrel of rum and sugar 300 pounds,
The college bell to mix it in and clapper to stir it round.
Like every honest fellow, I take my whisky clear,
I’m a rambling wreck from Golden Tech, a helluva engineer.

A helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva engineer.
A helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva engineer.
Like every honest fellow, I take my whisky clear,
I’m a rambling wreck from Golden Tech, a helluva engineer.

Hail, hail the gang’s all here.
Hey! What the hell do we care,
As long as we get our share?

Hail, hail the gang’s all here.
M-I-N-E-S!
What the hell do we care now?
___

That's pretty interesting, considering the tolerance for alcohol and drugs is extremely low here. This really isn't a "party school" or anything. I mean, Engineering-days are the only days that Mines is actually where to be. ^^ LOL! Yeah, all we do here is study... and make jokes concerning math and science...

But anyway, that's a little laugh for today. I'll write more later! Have a great day!

   Hello from Mines
Hi all! I'm officially a Mines student. Ah, I'm a freshman again... We had welcome weekend for the past few days, and today we had the M Climb--climb up a mountain carrying a 10 lb rock to add to the "M". Of course we were shot with squirtguns and water balloons along the way. Once we got to the top, which took about two hours, we got to whitewash the M. In all reality, we got to whitewash each other! It was interesting for sure.
Classes start tomorrow. 9:00 am with PE. Yes, PE in college. ^^;; But trust Mines to turn it into a lecture class with homework...Or so I've heard. ^^ Heheh, we'll see.

I've met some cool people here. Several anime fans already, too. ^^ Went to the Campus Crusade for Christ ice cream social thing. Can't wait for the Bible studies, and to be in a youth group again. I really miss my youth group... T_T

Well, I'll try to post and update stuff as much as I can, but if things are as busy or worse as they have been, I'm not gonna have much time to do that! I'm sorry if I don't get to visit anyone for a while. ::sniff::

Have a great day, week, month.... whatever! ^_^
