WAR OF THE REALMS
Okay, you guys are way more observant than ‘da sikaurai was hoping you’d be. Yes, that was a HAND by Sascha’s foot in the first pic. Sascha’s pose was taken from a combat scene in an old, pathetic attempt at a manga page, and the whole endeavor was pretty sad. She didn’t want her readers to see her crappy background. But you guys have good eyes. . . good for you.

Anyway, ‘da sikaurai actually had four PM’d requests for a background story on Sascha and Kimi. That was very nice. . . sikaurai is flattered that you would show a genuine interest in her creations! She will try to accommodate you, with a reader’s digest version, as she doesn’t want to make this post long and boring. . .

In Sascha’s world, there are two dominant races ruling his planet: the xynth (who resemble humans, and are technologically advanced and self-absorbed), and the sikaurai, (who are ancient, and revel in harmonic convergence with the planet’s natural forces). YES, THAT’S HOW ‘DA SIKAURAI GOT HER SCREEN NAME, NYAH. The two races do not see eye to eye; the sikaurai are faced with prejudice and discrimination, and therefore choose to remain secluded in their home valleys.

Sascha was orphaned as a young child, his parents murdered in a violent altercation with xynthian militants. Living as a street waif, he was taken in by a soldier for the elite warrior priesthood, and was raised at a young age to become a fighting machine. He lived for his warrior code, never knowing love or compassion. Even among his own people, Sascha faced prejudice on a daily basis—he was descended from the rare white-wolf clan, and was branded with a rare genetic disorder that left him unfit for breeding.

In Sascha’s world, the natural forces are held in check by the THREE REALMS: the Heavenly Realm, ruled by Kyonei and his Avatar Overseers; the Physical Realm, populated by mortals; and the Dream Realm, ruled by Morpheus and his Dream Guardians (of whom the Orchid Lord is one, by the way) Akiramaru the incubus, and his followers, attempt to throw off the balance between the realms by wreaking havoc in the Dream Realm and seeking possession of the mortal girl Kimi, who has inherent powers that give her the ability to either rule the Dream Realm as Morpheus’ heir—or to destroy the entire Physical Realm.

Inadvertantly, Sascha is commissioned to protect Kimi, who does not know how to use her powers. She is meek and mild-mannered, and her timidity annoys the violent-tempered Sascha to no end. Their relationship is volatile and the sikaurai warrior is cruel and abusive to her as they struggle together to complete the quest played out in my series of books, the WAR OF THE REALMS. Their relationship is also tragic at times, and sometimes even poignant . . . they come from two entirely different worlds, and don’t understand each other at all.

(Um, to answer one reader’s question. . . Dante is one of the Heavenly Overseers, but he used to be human. That’s why he seems so flawed in his character. . . heh. He makes ‘da sikaurai giggle.)
