Sorry about the sporadic site visitations. I just returned from the hospital, after having been transported via ambulance. I had a really painful attack--I thought maybe appendicitis, or something. Turns out I have gallbladder disease.
Gallbladder disease. Sounds horrific, doesn't it? DISEASE--like you have less than six months to live. But no worries, it just means that I have stones in my gallbladder, and that the damned organ needs to be removed. You can LIVE without a gallbladder, you know.
Christ, another organ removed.
Well, I DID pout quite a bit when I heard the diagnosis. I ran home and told my friend..."I have a fat, old man's disease."
"It's not a fat, old man's disease, cori. They say the factors are, 'fair, fat, and forty'. You're not fat, you're not over forty, but...well, you are very fair, babe. You come from that Irish stock, whitey, my friend."
He's right. I looked it up.
My mother had a fit. "It's cuz you eat nothing but CRAP!!!"
Yes, that's true. But why does the healthy stuff have to be so DAMN EXPENSIVE???? Crap is cheap. I have no money. See the equation working itself out in my white-trash brain?
ANd now I have to spend money on shit like deductibles and co-insurance. God, the irony.
Anyway, I WILL try to get to sites today. I'm a-gonna start out with the ones that I've been neglecting the most...but I might not might make all my rounds. I have a LOT of crap to do tonight...like spending some needed time with the kiddies.
