Ugh...*pats stomach* I’m so full...I just got done eating supper; my second cheeseburger (with lettuce and tomato) today, plus my mom’s homemade potato salad. ^3^ Today my mom’s Aunt Pauline came over to our house with my Grandma Thompson (her sister), and my Aunt Cindy for Grandma and Mom’s birthday party and so Pauline could visit. Cindy brought her boyfriend, Will, and he made a very interesting vegetable trey; in the middle of a cookie sheet, he made a palm tree with a half a potato (the base), a carrot (the trunk), and half a pepper (the leaves). I was so amazed at it that I took some pictures. ^o^ He is a very creative culinary person, he even made the cake they brought from scratch! It was so good...not too sweet or rich. Mom (and myself) hope they stay together because he’s so awesome. XD It was nice seeing Pauline again. She lives in Manhattan, Kansas, and I haven’t seen her for several years. She’s so nice...when I opened the door for her and Grandma, the first thing she said was, “You keep getting more and more beautiful every time I see you.” ^///^; She also complemented me on all my art work I showed her, and seemed a little interested in that I listened to Japanese music. “At least you’re not into all this rap and stuff around with all it’s cuss words...” XD I love her! Before I move on to the sleep over, has anyone seen the newest Barbie commercial? I forgot what the doll was called, and that’s not really what matters. What matters is (and thank you, Yumi, for giving me the heads up about it!) there’s a Papillon in it!!! >w< I squee every time I see it.
Okay, now onto Thursday. I got up and got ready to go. My mom gave me $40 ($15 going to Kayla for b-day money) and told me not to spend it all at one place. Kayla and her parents picked me up and got Yumi, then we headed to the mall. When we got there, the first place we went to was Hot Topic. They have these adorable Hello Kitty t-shirts with her dressed as a super hero and ‘super cute’ written in English, and below that Japanese (I think that’s what it says at least. ^-^;). I also saw this adorable short sleeved pullover hoodie thing that was black and red stripped that I really wanted, plus they had both red and black and white and black thigh-highs. I really wanted to get them, but I wanted to get my J-magazine fix too badly. We helped Kayla pick out a top and eye make-up before I looked for ‘Shoxx’ or ‘Cure’. I couldn’t find either (TT__TT), but I did find the spring issue of ‘purple SKY’ which is almost as good. XD I was happy because I could actually read what was in the magazine, though I was sad it wasn’t the summer issue with Miyavi on the cover. D= We bought our stuff and I gave Kayla her money (I needed to make change) After that, we went to D.E.B. and helped Kayla find more clothes. She got a skirt that would go with her top, a yellow shirt, a pair of black pants with red lines on them, and a pair of high heels that were Lolita-esque. After that we stopped at Game Stop and looked at some games longingly before going to get lunch. I went to the Chinese food place and got some fried rice, orange chicken, and a crab rangoon and shared it with Kayla and Yumi since I couldn’t finish it all. When we were done eating, we went over to FYE and luckily Pin Man (a guy who likes DIRU and used to work at Hot Topic and had tons of pins on his shirt) and his Asian cohort were working. Kayla wanted to see what Dir en grey CDs they had, so we showed her, and then we looked at the movies and anime they had. I totally saw this movie called Little Monster there! I don’t know how many of you have seen it before (it’s an early 90's movie...I remember seeing it when I was real little), but it’s about this boy, and under his bed is this different realm thing where monsters live, and a blue monster in a letterman’s jacket and horns likes messing with them, but they eventually become friends. I miss that movie...;__; And on the other side of the aisle-thing, were all the Godzilla movies. XD I <3 Gojira. It was my first taste of Japanese culture! Pin Man came over to talk to us as we were geeking out over the movies. He looked at Kayla and went, “You really need to get a Dir en grey shirt...” She was the only one of us three who wasn’t wearing one. XD “You need to join the cult!” he said. Yumi and I went “Yeah!” at the same time, and then Pin Man told us about this Japanese band similar to DIRU, only a little more black metal called Sigh. We thanked him, then went red-hair dye hunting for Kayla. We passed by a store that had these adorable stuffed animals, and one was a Chihuahua! I squeed over it before we returned to Hot Topic and got Kayla her hair dye. We spent the remaining time we had at Barnes & Nobel looking at dog and cat books. A lady that worked there also ordered me a book called Jrock Inc. by Josephine Yun.
Kayla’s parents picked us up, and we went back to her house. Yumi had to go to X-country practice, so we dropped her off after she got ready. We got back and sat around for a bit before loading up stuff to take down to Grandma’s house (their grandma; not mine, but awfully damn close) for the cook-out. Kayla’s cousin Lynn was there and we watched some TV before going to get Yumi and returning to eat and watch the finale of So You Think You Can Dance. We went back to Kayla’s house so Yumi could take a shower and I helped Kayla name the songs she uploaded onto her laptop. We generally goofed around all night, playing FFXII and listening to Jrock. I also read out some of my favorite bits from the LM.C interview in purple SKY, like where Maya and Aiji talk about idols not needing to go to the bathroom and how they don’t grow beards. XD Kayla also did her hair dye with my help. When we were putting it in, it looked like her head was all bloody. =P It turned out looking awesome, though! Well, this thing is pretty long, so I’ll stop here...Ja ne~!
I know he’s not wearing any in this picture, but Ruki is one of the few people (man or woman) who can pull black lipstick off...
