I'm not dead! I almost could have, but I'm not!
Post time: 7:12 p.m. CT
Current Music: "Increase Blue" - Dir en grey
Thanks for the well-wishes in my last post, and I'm sorry I haven’t been on since then...don't worry, there's a story: Thursday morning I thought I was well enough to go back to school, but my mom told me to stay home if my stomach still hurt. I listened to her this time. So I went downstairs and watched a few movies as my parents went to Storm Lake for some shopping. My side started to really hurt, so I decided to try and sleep it off. That probably would have worked if it didn't feel like my side just got ripped open by fire. I called my parents, literally hysterical and crying, that they needed to come home. They eventually got home after what seemed like and eternity for me, and took me to the doctor. I threw up a little on the way there, and right before they were going to draw some blood, so they gave me some pain medicine and nausea medicine in the form of a shot in the butt. Thank god, it calmed me down. But they didn’t get my blood very well because I was dehydrated. My doctor was really nice, and said he wanted to get some X-rays of my abdomen. When that was all done, he said that he would like it if I stayed the night at the hospital so that they could keep an eye on me, and make sure I didn’t get sick anymore. It took an EMC to find a vein in my arm to give me an IV, too...
I felt like crap, and didn’t really care where I was, as long as I wasn’t suffering anymore. My normal family doctor, Dr. Rice, came in and checked on me the next day and though it was a little odd that I didn’t have any pain in my side anymore. I would have been able to go home that day if I hadn’t have gotten sick and if my white blood cell count hadn’t gone up to 21 thousand (was 12 thou., but normally it’s only approx. supposed to be 7 thou.). So, that night my doctor called Dr. Ivey, a surgeon, on what to do, and they wanted a CT scan of my abdomen. I had to drink this white stuff that tasted like a fruity vanilla drink to make my insides glow for the scan. That would have went well if I didn’t have to drink a bottle and a half of it. I was almost done drinking the first bottle and I couldn’t keep it down anymore. I got the scan anyway...and it was very uncomfortable how they compromised...and I ended up having appendicitis. So the next morning I got to wake up and have my surgery. The last thing I remember was having this blue mask-thing over my face and the surgeons telling me to take deep breathes.
I woke up and felt a heck of a lot better, if not sore and annoyed to have a little plastic drain coming out of my stomach. XD I guess my appendix burst before they could get it out, so I had to take antibiotics via IV to get rid of any thing left in my gut. Yeah, that my stay at the hospital was really fun...I could have died, too! I got a nice little collection of teddy bears now, though. ^^ I’ve named them after flavors, too, because it matches their fur color: Strawberry from Kayla, Vanilla from my grandma Myrna, Chocolate from my grandma Thompson, Caramel from my grandpa Denny, and Honey from my uncle Dan and aunt Sue. I didn’t get Honey until last night/this morning because I got out of the hospital Monday afternoon, and they sent him a little late. He came from the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, too! I also got some flowers, and the October issue of Cure from Yumi-chan! Yay for Cure! I was shocked to see that An Café was in this issue, too! I was on the phone with her when I saw them, so we had a nice little spaz moment, and we criticized their outfits, and how the drummers are always over-looked, except for Shinya, because I love Shinya. ^^ Well, I think my post has been long enough...yes, I’m okay now. I have very little pain, but if I do get any, I got’s pills to take for it. And I'm not planning on going back to school until Friday. ^^ Bai bai!
