Kisho had been by the door and was watching them with a smile. His plan had worked, Akio was falling for Ronin and Ronin himself was getting his wish of wanting to be with Akio. He smiled but then felt like he had swallowed a pound of lead.
‘I still wonder who that guy that attacked her was; I don’t know what kind of guy would do something like that to her…’ He turned his attention back to the two of them. Akio had wrapped her arms around him, and was resting her head against his chest. He brought her closer by picking her up to put her on his lap. She still clung to him not willing to allow herself to let go. He felt her cling a little tighter to him while sitting side-saddle on his lap. Akio smirked again and slowly shifted her weight back on him. Ronin tried to keep his balance, but then quickly lost it and fell back on the bed. He looked at Akio again who had a rather large smirk.
“What are you up to?” She continued to look him in the eye with the devilish smile, turned over straddling his hips, and made herself comfortable on top of him. He held onto her and kissed her slightly. She returned the kiss a little more passionately and felt him move his hands to her lower back holding her tight to him. Then suddenly she got up and went to the door.
“Just saying thank you babe.” She smiled and left the room. Ronin just about flipped. He couldn’t believe that she had actually accepted him and would have her as his girl.
Akio looked down the hall at Kisho who had a rather large smile. “You heard didn’t you?” He nodded and walked towards her.
“He’s loved ya all this time, just never told ya, believe me I’ve heard about ya enough.”She gave a smile back to him.
“Shoulda told him to express it more then. I felt the same way just never knew he did.” Kisho nodded and showed her to the kitchen to get her something to drink. She sat down at the small bar while he got her a soda. As she watched him, she saw a flash of red. Then visions of a large war, around her people with pointed ears and others with coal black skin and deep red eyes.
She could feel the fear the ones with the pointed ears had. A scythe flew over her head, luckily with her sword training she was able to duck in time, but still losing her balance and tripping, she landed in a puddle of water as she saw a large dragon fly overhead, scales gleaming the deep midnight blue color, and eyes glowing white. A young man with pointed ears riding on it’s back holding a sword wreathed in mist and ice was in his hand. He yelled something in a language she never heard before, and turned back, in time to see a body of one of the black creatures fall. The female warrior stabbed a blood soaked ivory dagger deep into what would pass for a chest. The creature gave one last swipe narrowly missing her. Akio watched awe struck at the brutality of the war. Every man and woman fighting on the side, of the people with the pointed ears looked exhausted and showed the scars of their extreme fight. In the back of her mind just as another pointed ear warrior fell, she heard a voice call her name. She opened her eyes looking up at Ronin and Kisho who were now pale. She shook her head and slowly sat up.
“Akio, ya ok? Scared the shit out of me there. Just as I was turning to get ya something ya started to collapse.” Ronin didn’t say anything, but she could see it in his eyes that he was scared.
“I’m alright…” She looked down at the floor slightly to not show the fear she felt from the vision she had just seen.
“Akio... what did you see?” The question from Ronin’s mouth shocked her slightly, looking up at him seeing the same fear behind his eyes that she felt. Kisho looked at him sort of confused.
“What do you mean Ronin? When I went back to your room ya were the same way as she was, but you snapped out of it in a minute or two.” He nodded, and then looked back at Akio.
“You saw that war too… didn’t you?” Her jaw dropped slightly.
“You saw it too?!” He nodded, as she saw the fear return just as strong to his eyes and face.
“What war? Will you both please tell me what’s going on!?” They both looked at Kisho equal fear from both of them.
“You don’t want to know… trust us. But I want to know where and what the war was about...” Akio finishing the statement left Kisho with more questions than answers but seeing the fear that even Ronin felt, he didn’t push it. Ronin looked up at Akio.
“I recognized the two races that were fighting?” Akio looked at him more intently.
“What were they?” The curiosity in her voice showed the high level of interest she had about the vision and what the purpose was.
“Both sides were demon, the ones that just had the pointed ears were a variety of different races of demon. Everything from ice demons to vampires, were on that side. The opposing which had the coal black skin and red eyes was a mix of gore-hounds and hell-biters.” Akio listened attentively and attempted to understand what was being told.
“So basically a large battle between good and evil?” Kisho had picked up some information of why both were so afraid, but then realized what the intensity had been.
“Yes basically... It’s an ancient war though. Could tell by the techniques and methods used.” Akio nodded and remembered the note she had gotten.
“I almost forgot, I’m supposed to meet someone at the bar today...” Kisho and Ronin turned instantly suspicious.
“Ya know who this is that ya meeting?” She shook her head.
“Don’t trust it then.”
“I’ll go with her. It seems this guy whoever he is, knows something we don’t.” Kisho nodded as Ronin helped Akio to her feet.
“When did he say we would meet?”
“He said at 4.” Ronin looked at the clock and nodded.
“We better go now then; it’s already 3:30.” Akio agreed with him, feeling the nervousness in her stomach.
‘I just have a bad feeling something bad is gonna happen here…’
“Akio, ya ok?” She shook herself out of the thought and turned to Kisho.
“Yea I’m fine. Don’t worry.” She gave Kisho a hug goodbye, and followed Ronin down to his Mustang. They pulled out quickly into the bustling streets of New York. The traffic was slightly lighter for the time of day, but still heavy like usual. The two of them continued to talk about the vision on the way. Ronin pulled into the parking lot and parked fairly close to the door and turned off the car. They both got out hesitantly and looked around a bit. Akio looked at Ronin, seeing he felt something was different.
“Ronin have you ever seen this bar here before?” He looked at her for a second, and then looked back a little more anxious.
“No. I’ve never seen this one before?” Slowly and hesitantly they walked into the bar. The windows were blacked out, and the inside looked like an old medieval Tavern, with armor, swords, and weapons that couldn’t even be described hanging on the walls. Over the mantle on a roaring fire, was the head of a large hellhound, the sparks still dripping from its slightly open mouth was feeding the fire.
