Ai spotted two people sprint down the stairs past her; one she thought looked like Ronin. She called after the two that had run past, but was too late. The two of them had already gotten out the door.
The pair made their way halfway down the street towards the bar where Tsuki worked. Tsuki had been serving another fallen angel that had just stopped in for a drink and heard a slight commotion outside.
“Who could be laughing that much...” He started to go to the edge of the counter to go see, but stopped when the door opened. Akio and Ronin walked in. Akio had changed into different clothes to fit her new look, which was now a pair of dark navy jeans that were low riders, and a light blue halter-top revealing the two tattooed marks where her wings would form. Ronin had gotten a pair of dark khaki cargos with a black muscle shirt. They both looked at Tsuki and smiled.
“Remember us?” Akio raised an eyebrow as she asked the question. Tsuki laughed at them.
“We need people like you two for this war. I’m guessing that’s what you came here to learn about, and maybe even give a helping hand.” They both nodded. “Ok then. Sit here and I’ll tell you.” He pointed to two seats at the bar and then to the drinks behind it.
“No thanks Tsuki. Ronin ya want anything?”
“Nah... I’m good.” They both sat down as Tsuki took up a place behind the bar after serving another demon that had just walked in.
“Ok were to start… “He took a drink from a glass of water he had poured himself. “Well the war began as a simple disagreement between species. This was usually normal since most of the different species of demon and fallen angel had disagreements or small arguments often. But this time it was different. The demons that picked the fight… were ones we had never seen before. They had the fire of hell burning in their eyes and were not to mention, more powerful. They shredded many of our fighters on the spot, others fled for safer, more secluded areas. When they drove us to the brink of our territories, most of the species formed a temporary alliance to maybe stop them from taking over. We have been fighting ever since really… with no progress what-so-ever.” He rubbed his eyes slowly in frustration over those words. He knew how hard everyone was fighting with making absolutely no victories over this bloodthirsty enemy. Ronin looked at Tsuki as he took another drink with a very disgusted look on his face.
“That is why we’re here. We wanna help ya with this war.” Tsuki looked at Ronin with a look of slight disbelief at the amount of confidence in Ronin’s voice as he told him they wanted to help with this hopeless endeavor.
“You’re serious? You really want to help?” Akio nodded.
“Why have these powers if we can’t use them. If we have the ability to help in a situation like this, we should help. Right?” Tsuki nodded in agreement with her.
“Yes that is true. If ya have the ability to help ya should.” Ronin nodded to him with the same level of agreement.
“Then will ya get us to the demon world where we can actually help out and not just sit here talkin about it.” Tsuki slightly laughed to the extreme confidence radiating from Ronin.
“What makes you so confident that you both will be able to survive one second without training of some sort in the art of war. Even if you two have very strong abilities without the training that normal demons get with fighting each other daily, you can’t tap into the inner power both of you posses.” Akio leaned in close to him with a look Ronin had never seen before. She had a look of very high determination without fear. Knowing how determined she could get if she really wanted to get something done, he kind of feared a little for Tsuki.
“Then why don’t ya get someone that can train us? Cause we're getting there anyway to help and ya can’t stop me from achieving that, even if I have to go through hell and fight my way through the hard way.” Tsuki moved back slightly uncomfortable at how close she had moved to him and the look of ferocity in her eyes. Akio gave an icy glare and bared her fangs just enough to see a little white.
“Are ya gonna train us or do I have to show ya what I already know.” Tsuki put his hands up in almost a form of a shield.
“Ok… just relax, and I will train you both to be sure you’re ready for this.” He got up and opened the door behind the bar and the lift table so that they could follow him. Both followed silently as he led them into a back room. Akio could slightly see with the night vision she had gained, but still could not see very much. Tsuki hit a light switch and all three shut their eyes and turned away blinded by the sudden bright light. Akio turned back to Tsuki and watched him. Ronin was taking a quick glance of the room memorizing anything that could be used in one way or another. Tsuki turned back to them from the far side of the room so that he could explain what they would do.
“Akio, since you seem to be the more confident and challenging fighter I’ll challenge you first. Step forward and try taking me down.” Akio smirked and stepped forward. She stood in front of him slightly to the side ready for any kind of attack. Tsuki threw four blades at her, which she was able to side step and avoid. Catching one blade in her fingers and throwing it back Tsuki with a look of a fighter in her eyes. It hit right next to his neck on the wall which he smirked at.
“Very good.” Tsuki then turned back to Akio. “Try this now.” He pulled out a katana and ran at Akio.
“Nice try Tsuki.” She jumped out of the way and nailed him in the back with her foot. She then threw a few ice shards at him stopping him in his tracks.
“Watch those, cause remember they are poisonous.”
“I know. I wasn’t gonna hit ya with them.” She gave a smirk and just blinked at him.
“Told ya I was better than ya thought.” He nodded at her.
“Yea ya did this time Akio.” He looked from her to Ronin.
“What about you?” Ronin looked up at him with a smirk.
“I’ll give ya my best shot.” Knowing Ronin’s new specialty was the sword he pulled out a katana.
“Alright then, let’s spar.” Tsuki charged him to make a slash attack, but with speed unlike he’d ever seen, Ronin blocked the attack with something long and black. Tsuki back stepped and saw a long black-sheathed katana.
“How do you have the Black Dragon Katana? That’s only rewarded to highly skilled competitors!” He pointed to Akio.
“It was a present from her. She knew I had an ability with swords and presented it as a weapon I could use.” Tsuki nodded to Akio.
“Must say very good job in being awarded that sword.” Akio bowed to him the respectful way she was taught. Then she slowly turned to Ronin.
“Remember though skill is not good enough on its own, ya have to think of the sword as just an extension to your arm.” He nodded to her that he understood. Then he took his stance. Tsuki motioned for him to begin his attack.
“Let’s see what you have.” Ronin seeing that Tsuki was expecting him to attack from the front, slowly moved to the side never taking his glance off of Tsuki. With a slight grin Tsuki moved with him recognizing the move as being one that would usually place the attacker behind the victim.
“Nice try young one, but not quite good enough.” Tsuki moved with speed only matched by the most skilled warrior and was met with a sword point at his neck and Ronin’s eyes glowing red. His stance making it so that Tsuki’s attack would have at the most grazed his arm leaving him a window of deadly strikes.
“You were saying?” His eyes went back to normal and Tsuki was met with Akio giving a slight smirk and Ronin glaring.
“You’ve both done better than I had ever expected. Usually demons held in this world loose their power, but yet you both seemed to have retained it to a point that’s usually unheard of.” Akio nodded in agreement, and moved forward from the wall.
“That’s the difference between us and other people. In this world we have never felt that we have actually belonged and preferred to be taken out of the world to one that we felt more apart of.” Tsuki scratched his head a moment in reasoning it all together.
“It would make sense with what you’re saying. If both of you never felt comfortable here your guard would have never dropped, hence leaving your power untarnished.” Ronin walked slowly over to Akio moving behind her and wrapping his arms slowly around her waist.
“So are you going to send us into this war or are we going to just be stuck here till it’s over.” Tsuki laughed at them and pulled a jewel out of his pocket. He aligned it with the stream of light that was coming in through the dusty window in the room. It glinted with a blood red light opening on the wall next to them. Soon the wall itself was a mass of dripping crimson goo. Akio grimaced a little at the sight of the dripping ooze.
“Don’t worry it’s just a passage the stuff won’t touch you.” Ronin nodded and scooted Akio forward. She glared back at him slightly for pushing her, but then started walking towards the passage. She touched it and felt a slight burn to her skin, but it wasn’t painful, more a sense of need. She took a breath and stepped into it. As the goo passed over her she felt the cool slime, but also felt the heat around her. That’s when a shock of pain hit her in the back; she tried to scream with the hit, but was choked. She felt herself fall and opened her eyes. She saw around her fire, and beings of unspeakable origin, some old others seemed to be fairly young. But all in pain, tortured in a never-ending cycle. She felt a very hot force against her and closed her eyes until she felt a cool breeze on her face again. She slowly opened her eyes seeing only white. She tried moving but then felt a hand on her and heard an unknown voice.
“Easy babe, you’re going to be ok, just relax. Your body went through hell getting here.” She relaxed when she felt the same hand move over her forehead and through her hair. Then she drifted into blackness again.
leave ya with mister Miyavi.
