Bah...
The PS2 hates me. That must be it. I finally got thirty minutes to myself to Persona 2 the other day, and I finally got up to the roof of the Aviation Museum, with time to spare. The game decided to crash during the scene just after Jun pushed Sudou through the hole in the roof. v_v; That dungeon is so frustrating, but the boss fight is so broken (Tatsuya is a cheap bastard, but I love him).

Well, yesterday (or rather the day before yesterday since it's midnight), I decided to try again, even though I was still kind of bummed about what happened last time. Well, the game crashing was kind of disheartening, but it wasn't as bad as what happened yesterday. I tried to book up my file, but my memory card was corrupted... v_v; Why did I ever think it was a good idea to buy a Mad Catz memory card?

So, once again, I had to start my Persona 2 file all over again. v_v; I'll admit the first time was totally my fault for not upgrading or leveling (or carrying enough healing/revive items), but this was all the memory card's fault. v_v; Well, I got up to the Sanitarium in one sitting. I let my friend take over for a bit, and he managed to piss off a group of Cockatrices. ~_~;

One of these days I'll beat that game. One of these days I'll also translate the manga. 6_9 The third book is kind of confusing, and I'm utterly creeped out by B.B.'s death.

Oh, on a lighter note with Persona, I actually have a question regarding the Time Count. I read something interesting about him, and it's really interesting if it's true, but... I'm a wee bit confused. If the Time Count is really Nyarlathotep, then is it really Nyarlathotep that the party fights towards the end of Innocent Sin? And how does Rago fit into the picture?

Well, I figured out my problem, why I have no inspiration. My creative energy is going into the Returners campaign. I'm trying to figure out how to let the socialite and the stealthy guy stand out. I came up with something vague.

So, I'll pitch the idea here, since my players aren't on this site.

Where is the last place you'd think to find an evil psychopath? I figured a cheery place like the Gold Saucer would be the last place to look. So, that's where he'll be. And that's where the team is going to go.

He'll be off grilling the workers for information, and his hostage, Rufus (because people still hate ShinRa) is going to contact the team. The stealthy guy will have to break into the psychopath's hotel room and get some information (and since I know how this player acts, he's going to attempt to rescue Rufus by himself. So, I'll have to come up with some obsticle for that).

I should go back to working on the challenge ratings... We're possibly meeting Thursday, so I don't have as much time to get it together.

I'm looking for a muse or anything that will give me just a bit of inspiration for my serious work. My twin brother left for his college, and he's not coming back until mid August. I'm a little sad, and I all ready miss my brother (he's only been gone for eight hours).

I've been working on my superhero spoof with a chapter that was based on a trip I recently went on. Everything went wrong.

[Kats and Jeff are hanging on Nathan as they get closer to the ride.]

Nathan: You two are superheroes. You can handle the scary monsters, the creepy enemies, and the stalking, but you can't handle this?

Jeff: It goes high, and fast! And it's old and rickety!

Nathan: -sigh-

Kats: You'll sit next to me, won't you?

Nathan: Yeah.

[They board the ride. Jeff sits next to Matt, and Nathan and Kats sit together. Kats clings to Nathan's arm most of the time, and Nathan looks rather bored, until he braces himself for the abrubt stop at the end. When the ride comes to a stop, Jeff hops out of the cart first.]

Jeff: That was a rush! You were right, Nathan, it wasn't that scary.

[Nathan stands again. He doesn't even look phased by the ride, until he takes a step on to the platform.]

SFX: Crack!

Nathan: [holding his back] Ow!

[Kats stands and touches Nathan's shoulder.]

Kats: Are you okay?

Nathan: My back...

The damned dungeon master killed my concept, and said I had to play as a female character. I'm not playing as a female sex slave--no way in hell! Worst of all, he didn't give me a chance to talk my way out of it. And he also said I had to play as something other than a bard or rouge and I had to come up with a real physical description instead of the vague ones on the sheet. Yes, I'm pissed off at him. He's ruined the last three campaigns because he wanted to DM. Well, what about me? I've had a non-fantasy campaign ready to go for at least a month. But no. We're playing a generic fantasy campaign (that he came up with in a week), even though I've all ready said I'm tired of it.

Well, since he wasn't really specific by what he meant by female (since he didn't actually tell me to my face or through electronic communation. I had to hear the news filtered through two people), my friend gave me an idea. My brother said it's awfully sneaky and will probably annoy him. Well, he should have thought about that before hand. And I'm going to do exactly what he did to the last two DMs.

By the way, this is the second time within this group that I've had to remake a character before playing. That's one way to really piss off the players, so keep that in mind if there are any hopeful dungeon masters out there.

Anyway, here's the new concept... again. (My friend came up with it because he knew about my Guilty Gear obsession). There was a young man who worked very hard to support his terminally ill mother. One day he passed out during his job, but he couldn't figure out why. As he was about to regain consciousness, he heard a voice in the back of his head say, "I shall take vengence on men." When he woke, he was covered in blood, and he was injured. And everyday, his experiences only got worse. He never let his mother know, even with his blackouts nearly killed him. When it got to that point, he told his mother that he had to go away for his next job and went into hiding. Eventually, while he was asleep, he found the root of his problem. It was a ghost of a woman who had been brutally murdered by a powerful (and most likely long dead) assassin, her lover. The spirit and the man got to talking about the past and the present. They came up with a deal: he wouldn't betray his lover, when he found a lover if she would just let him live. Now, the spirit only comes out when there's trouble.

The man is a peasant, but when he's posessed, he's a hex blade. Technically, there is a female element to the character, but it's a male character. If he has a problem with it, too bad.

I swear to the powers if this is another preprinted adventure, I'm going overthrow the new dungeon master myself. If it is another preprinted adveture, then he has no right to be as much of a dictator as he's been.

Well, I'm off to fill out the character sheet, again. Wish the group luck, and hopefully I'll be sane the next time I can post.

Our group's first D20 Modern adventure ended today. Everyone died, my character attempted suicide, but the bad guys managed to stabilize two of the characters--my frail little artist and the psychotic brawler who tried to kill her own team. She got exicuted because the bad guys knew they couldn't control her. My character... though he was the only one who survived, he lost. He's a bit of a slave, being forced to make propoganda for some people who were bent on world domination. Well, that was different. Let's not do that again.

Supposedly, I'm next up for being the DM. I'm doing a FFReturners campaign set in FFVII-verse after Dirge of Cerberus. Even though I had a serious story written out for it, it should be humorous (until the creepy people come). I hope it goes well...

At the same time, we're doing a generic fantasy RPG. That's where my blind slave comes into play. I'm going to try to work him up to being an assassin.

Um... anyway, I'm in a bit of pain right now. My scalp is sunburned, my back is aching, and I generally feel sick. -sigh- And on top of that, my sister has been complaining a lot. Oh... what did I do?

I'm hoping things will get better through the week. I'll try to be more active. So, until later... Bye.

Character Concept
My friends and I were playing Dungeons and Dragons (rather D20 Modern) the other day. The dungeon master, after the session, asked why I liked to play gimp characters. Well, I've never played a character that was actually handicapped, so I got to thinking that when we actually do a Dungeons and Dragon campaign, I was going to give the DM an actually "gimp" character. My brother says it might be mean or I might end up kicking myself for it. You see, I usually play as characters who can't or won't fight. The DM saw this as a flaw, but I didn't. I think by having the DM exposed to truly flawed characters, I could open his mind a bit. I want to know if this is too much or if I should just give up or if it's not enough.

Okay, this character I'm working on has two big noticeable flaws: 1) he's insane and 2) he's blind (by choice. He wears a blindfold, since he doesn't like the light; it's part of the reason he's insane).

I want to make him a rouge with more dexterity than strength. I'm thinking that I want him to be incredibly flexible, too. Eventually, I want to be able to have him use his flexibility in combat, sort of like Voldo from Soul Calibur or Mogetsu from The Bouncer (who, by the way, is my favorite character in that game or any Square title and is probably part of the reason I want to do this so much). I just don't know what kind of weapon he should use (if he uses katar like Voldo, I'd have to have exotic weapon proficiency, which will be problematic for the character design, since he'll be "useless" until he can use weapon finesse. I don't mind, but I'm worried about the rest of the party. But at the same time blind guy + sword or arrows = many injured teammates + even more useless teammate). I guess I need to think of the mechanics on this one a bit more.

Let's see. His background is going to be a little odd. He was a "special kind of slave" since he can remember. He was also trained to be one of his owner's body guards (hence why he can use weapons in the first place), since no one would suspect the sex slave to know how to fight. He was drilled endlessly, tortured by his mistress when he did something wrong, used against his will, and sometimes, his punishments would include being kept in the dark. He's very sensitive to light because this punishment was used often (at one point, it became expected or desired rather than a punishment). Well, when his mistress was murdered, he felt without a purpose. He decided to make his purpose finding his mistress's killer and ran away from his captivity to persue a person he didn't really know.

This probably sounds really dumb. I guess I should put more thought into the background, too. Oh... Maybe this is a bad idea. Everyone else makes characters that are ideal, I just want to make a seriously flawed character because they are more interesting (like I mentioned before Mogetsu is one of my favorite characters, I also like Sudou a lot). But instead of trying to make this character off the wall, maybe I should embrace the stereotypes and just use my stereotypically gay (by anime terms), pacifistic bard. I'm just kind of bored with that role, too... Eh, whatever.

I guess that's all for today (or at least this morning). I guess I'll be on tomorrow (or after sunrise, as it is). Take care, everyone. Bye.

It's been a while.
Well, it's been a while since I've updated this thing, so I guess now is as good a time as any.

Let's see. I bought the first volume of Texnolyze on DVD. I'm glad I got to see the first few episodes, but at the same time... Uh, they were interesting. Let's leave it at that. It picks up later (I know this because I've watched the last half of the series), so I'm going to stick to it and get all of the episodes. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Ghost in the Shell and Serial Experiment Lain. Fair warning, there is sex and violence in this one.

I haven't really done much else lately. I live a pretty boring live, after all. (By the way, I decided to spread the Time Count duplicates spell cards rumor. Thanks.)

Blar...
I get to see "The Omen" tomorrow. I'm not sure I'm looking forward to it. The only resent horror movie that actually even freaked me out has been "Saw II." I couldn't sleep after I saw that... It made me puke for the first time in nearly ten years.

Um... I guess I'll update you on my progress in Persona 2. Well, I finally got more than ten minutes to play. Now that I actually got the time to play, I realized that I can't complete the objective in 30 minutes. So, I started listening to gossip through out what parts of the city I had open. It's interesting how much foreshadowing they put in and how much detail they tried to put in. Well, anyway, after talking to the rumormongers, I have two rumors that I can spread once I get some cash. But after this dungeon, I'll only have enough to spread one rumor. So, I want you guys to help me make a decision on which one to use first (since I end up using both services they enable).

1) Time Count duplicates spell cards. This means I can take in a spell card I get through combat and get it duplicated so I can fuse the spell to multiple Persona.

2) Sumaru Genie uses WangLong fortune telling. This makes the Genie's predictions accurate, and you can use the fortunes to do some interesting things in combat.

What do you think?

Well, nothing really interesting is going on in my life (when does it ever?). So, I guess that's it for now.

Hmm... I've been sort of out of it lately. My brother's dog died, and it made me very sad, too. She was a good dog and a good friend. My poor brother said that the loneliness he felt when his girlfriend left him was nothing compared to when his dog died. But now, fortunately, he realizes he isn't alone.

Well, let's see. I've decided to take a step away from Persona 2 before I broke something. I can't get thirty undisturbed minutes to myself. It's not just when I'm playing that game, either. It's when I'm doing something that actually matters to me. When I'm writing, my mother likes to yell for me, right when I get a good tempo going. Not even that, but she likes to "accidently" unplug my computer, too. I'd happily take the computer somewhere she didn't go, if she didn't call me every ten minutes.

Random update
Well, I have some news.

1) I can't seem to PM people at the moment. So, if you're trying to get in touch with me, please be patient with me.

2) I'm working on some quizzes and e-cards. I'm just having trouble making some graphics for the quizzes.

Now, for the stupid part of the random update. Agh! I had to start over again in my Persona 2 file. It's demoralizing because I was pretty far into it (half way, at least). Well... At least I get to see Sudou in action again. He's one of my favorite characters in that series, but sadly, I felt he was a little underplayed in Eternal Punishment. His creepy devotion to the Masquerade is still there, but it's more subtle.

Well, I think that's it for now. I've got to go. Bye-bye.
