To answer the question.

From a scientific perspective, a tree will make a noise if it falls. In falling it will eventually hit the ground which will cause auditory vibrations, producing a sound.

From a philosophical perspective, falling trees are not realized untill the event is experienced by an idivisual. In connection to this idea... the sound produced by the tree is also not realized untill it is experienced. If an event is not realized, it does not occur.
