It's not as easy as willing it all to be right
Gotta be more than hoping it's right
I wanna hear you laugh like you really mean it
Collapse into me, tired with joy
Hands Open- Snow Patrol

So... The one reason why I more or less quit listening to the radio is due to the crappy lack of music the radio plays these days.... Yes there is alot of music out there... Yes alot of it is good.... But....

We've more or less moved over to listening to the radio at night... which... is awesome... I dont have to listen to hits from the disco age anymore... which are admittedly kinda cool when Im in a 70's mood..... which is very very rarely.... it happens... but not often... So the radio is on all night.... now... listening to the radio for 7.5 (cause I only work 7 hour shifts) hours 5 nights a week.... at least with the radio station we listen to.... I've began to notice something... We hear close to the exact same songs everynight.... a mix of old and new rock.... but... see... Its the new popular music... which they play all day to begin with.... and the old popular.... which has been playing for the last 30 to 40 years ((my dad listened to some of it.... it has to be at least that old at this point)) So... its starting to get very VERY repetative.... I would think with a music libaray that has to be close to a few thousand songs at this point... they would be able to mix it up a bit.... but I guess not..... So... Saturday nights... they have this special segment called the Zed Rock Cafe... its suppose to be "All New Rock... NO Jock Talk!"

Its not all new rock... there are a number of songs that are either Remixes.... ((some are good like the Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco remixes... considering I played the originals to death a few months ago))or just the same stuff they play during a normal night... I'm not going to call the music crap cause it is decent music.... in moderation....

The no jock talk comes from the fact that its prerecorded and put on a four hour loop... the show is four hours long with a few breaks for commercials and plays twice through the night....

The repedative nature of the broadcast drives me nuts.... the fact that both the one half decent radio station ((we have about 6 I think.... One oldies/pop station... one oldies station... one rock/oldies station and two or three country stations.... We're right in between two large cities and just out of range for both.... you can get a signal from E-Town when theres a strong south wind)) and the store feed are both repadative... ((I think the store feed is maybe on a 10 or 12 hour cycle)) It drives me nuts....

And this is a serious issue.... I'm the kind of person who will listen to a CD till I know the words to almost all the songs... put the CD in my case... and possibly not touch it for a few months till I get in the mood for that particular artist again.... So I have a fairly high tolerance for repedative music...

Then... to top off all the frustration... I hear a few songs on the ZRC that I like.... and that I havent heard before and that I would like to get.... I go to the radio site because they say you can follow along on the net..... and they still havent updated since Canada Day.... Its pre-recorded and set up.... would it kill them to update the site?

I remember when they first started the ZRC and it was all music that they didnt normally play.... mostly because of subject manner.... now it seems like its just a spur off the everyday.... throw in a few remixes and a few odd songs out... theres the mix for the night....

It just ticks me off... I cant do anything about it but complain... which I tend to do well... so thats my complaining for the next while on store music[/bitching]

*deep breath*

In other news I was told to be less independent... thats what I get for being able to lift stuff and pull the heavy pallets...
