A Lengthy Update...

Well it's been a while since I've written anything here, but a friend asked me to so I am. A lot's happened since my last post. My social life has done nothing but go up and down and then there is school and all the crap I have to do for that and finally work to chew up what's left of my free time.

Biggest thing is my moving in with my father, something I did because it is closer to school. That was a change in life style I guess. But the biggest thing that had affected my life is my complete inability to deal with social situations.

When I was younger I wasn't a big social person. I had a couple of friends here and there but was content to do my own thing for the most part. Thing I regret there is never getting close to anyone. Recently as I've started making new friends and getting closer to people I'm realising that I'm not likely to be in contact with almost all of the people I know now within the next year or two.

But yeah, that's a little rant about my social life, I'll talk about that one alot more over the next couple of posts I guess. School's been pretty busy, a lot of work all the time now, it's really starting to pick up. I'm in my last year of high school and do a lot of extension courses, which are done outside of the regular school timetable and require a lot of extra application. I need to have a draft of my english extension two piece done by friday week and am so far behind it isn't funny. In this course I have to complete an extended composition over the course of the year. I chose to do a short story for this which is limited to eight thousand words, which I in turn chose to break down into three smaller short stories of about two thousand words each. I'll tell everyone more about these in my next couple of posts too.

Well I guess they're the biggest things in my life at the moment. But on a lighter note I have a fencing competition in the city this weekend, not expecting to go overly well (about middle of the pack position wise) but I love competitions because I get to fence a bunch of people I've never fenced before. Funny actually, we've been studying Spartan society (Ancient Greece) at school and as geeking, weird or whatever as it is I've taken to trying to get into the Spartan 'mind-set' while I'm fencing. It's kinda hard to do but makes a surprising difference in how well I perform. One of those quirky things I guess.
