a new post
“Now it wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t have a toy to share too,” my dad said mockingly, “just a second let me get something for you.” He held his hands palms down and said something else weird. The ground beneath him became a circle of light. I watched as a pole began coming out of the ground, it rose and rose. When the end came out I realized it was a spear. My dad picked it up, spun it like a fan and set himself ready to fight. “Bring it!” he said his voice had changed he was ready to fight.
I don’t remember much of the battle, only that my dad had a definite upper hand. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. He moved insanely fast and did acrobatic moves that would make a contortionist wince, and he made it look effortless. He blocked, dogged, or countered everything that the demon sent his way, and gave the demon the beating of a lifetime. I was still in shock over what had happened so far and didn’t see the golden opportunity to leave. The demon realizing his immanent defeat took advantage of this. Before I knew what happened he had me with a blade to my throat.
“No!” said my dads “don’t hurt him I’ll surrender.”
“Good,” said Rorret “I knew you would, the good are so easy to manipulate. Fine you have my word as a demon that I will not hurt this boy if you surrender yourself to me, and he doesn’t try to follow in your footsteps.”
My dad bowed, “So be it.” He mumbled.
Had I realized what was going on I would have stopped it, but I still was recovering from the shock of having a blade thrust at my throat I couldn’t say anything. I watched as Rorret led my dad into the cave heard him say a spell, and then nothing. Then out of nowhere a maniacal laughter erupted, and then I watched as Rorret emerged from the cave, alone.
