IQ Test, eh?
Your IQ score is 133
This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.
Your Intellectual Type is Visual Mathematician. This means you are gifted at spotting patterns — both in pictures and in numbers. These talents combined with your overall high intelligence make you good at understanding the big picture, which is why people trust your instincts and turn to you for direction — especially in the workplace. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.
Hmm...
(linked from Shinmaru, decided after seeing Baron Samedi's site. And while you're at it, visit Ben. He's very cool, you know ^_~)

OB v7 is OK!
Well, seeing as the Boards are now back up and (pretty much) fully working I guess I should give my opinion on how it all feels.
Firstly, I'm with a great Moderating team- PiroMunkie, Queen Asuka, Dagger IX1 and Lady Katana make up Team Miyazaki, and we moderate across three (well... two, seeing as one forum can't be posted in) forums. It is a little disappointing no longer having the separate anime sections anymore, and I can't help but feel a little redundant when it comes to moderating. Two threads were closed in the last few days when I could have been able to do it, but Dagger and Asuka got there first ^_^; Three mods to one forum is rather a lot. But I don't mind, really. I guess it'll get a lot busier in the coming weeks, so then three mods will probably seem adequate.
I've posted... about five times since v7 started up again. I noticed my post count had reduced by about 500 but it doesn't bother ma that much. I don't suppose there was anything there I was planning to go back to. As long as DC and Enter the Net are alright I wouldn't mind at all if most had gone, heh. A lot of cool people still have under 1,000 posts anyway ^_~
In Other News...
My first completely made-from-scratch avatar looks very nice, although I might add text to it later. It's of Yugo from Bloody Roar (as was my OB avatar before) and I am very pleased. I had to use three different programs to get it fully up and running as I wanted it to and got very frustrated in the process, but I'll be a Syk3 yet ^_~
And Finally...
The strangest thing happened today- while I was browsing the DVDs in MVC I met a friend of mine by the anbime section- David's cousin. He had with him three or so other friends who all liked anime, and were also all in long black leather jaskets, as I was. I've never had a sensible conversation out loud about Evangelion before. I even mentioned LCL Fluid without anyone going "Huh?". It was very bizarre. They recommended RahXephon Volume Three, so I will get it next time I have money. Very odd indeed, but a rather pleasant surprise nonetheless.
I've not yet been able to do anything I planned to do over half-term. I'll have to try for that tomorrow and Sunday, I think. Singing assignments due in next week, too... |

Change
I decided to actualy retrieve the HTML code to put the borders back on my posts, because I can and because I was annoyed at myself for being lazy enough to not do it, if that makes sense.
I'll Never Fall In Love Again- Burt Bacharach
What do you get when you fall in love?
A guy with a pin to burst your bubble
That's what you get for all your trouble
I'll never fall in love again
I'll never fall in love again
What do you get when you kiss a girl
You get enough germs to catch pneumonia
After you do, she'll never phone you
I'll never fall in love again
I'll never fall in love again
Don't tell me what it's all about
'Cause I've been there and I'm glad I'm out
Out of those chains those chains that bind you
That is why I'm here to remind you
What do you get when you give your heart
You get it all broken up and battered
That's what you get, a heart that's shattered
I'll never fall in love again
I'll never fall in love again
Out of those chains those chains that bind you
That is why I'm here to remind you
What do you get when you fall in love?
You only get lies and pain and sorrow
So for at least until tomorrow
I'll never fall in love again
I'll never fall in love again
I'll never fall in love again
I'll never fall in love again
I was partly inspired to put this here by Mimmi's site, partly not. I've liked Burt Bacharach's music since I heard it on the first Austin Powers movie, and hearing this in the second was great- it very quickly became one of my favourite songs, and one which I quite often relate myself to (well, quite often recently anyway- I won't go into details). Even though when looking at the lyrics it seems a very depressing and negative song, if you listen to it sung it hardly sounds depressing at all; almost hopeful.
Yes, a very nice song indeed. |

I have come to return The Return of Jafar...
So, last night then.
On the whole it was good fun, although for the most part I wasn't in the best of moods to enjoy it all seeing as I only knew Dan and Ami really well, but they were all nice people anyway. Just... yeah.
Anyway, it started off with me being fifteen minutes late setting off, as I'd mis-planned taking the dogs for a walk and reckoned without having to take a shower, which in total added three-quarters of an hour to an already tight schedule. Wolfed down curry stuff and left (in Lovely New Leather Jacket, no less ^_^).
When I arrived, Dan's Dad asked me if I knew what the plan was. Dan had told me a few weeks beforehand, but then phoned me up a night or so ago to tell me it had changed.
"Erm... not entirely." I was feeling rather nervous, having to deal with people I'd never met before ever.
He explained the amended situation and I became more confused but nodded, smiled, and said 'Yes' anyway. Then he gave me the key to Dan's second house (he has two buildings, one main house and one smaller one that no-one's actually allowed to live in for some odd reason), where the party was due to take place.
I stood around for a bit- three people were supposedly already here, but they arrived at half six (when I was supposed to be there) and had gone down to the Fish and Chips shop. I'd eaten already, so there was no love lost there. Just mild confusion and worry.
They came back and I opened the door, introducing myself as 'Hugo', to whit there was some laughter. After a few minutes, I was told of the joke- on the invitations, Dan had written
"...and Hugo will be there to show you where to put your coats."
It became a running joke, heh. After a while, more people arrived so we stuffed everyone's bags into the workshop and walked over to his main house, the plan being thus: since Ami actually found out about the surprise party, Dan thought he'd take her over to the smaller house first where the party would have been taking place, trying to lead her into the false assumption that it had been called off. Meanwhile, we were in the main house awaiting Dan's phonecall to signal us to creep over and burst in.
Except, it didn't really work like that ^_^;
We went over and sat in Dan's bedroom, trying to define exactly what the plan would be (while I showed everyone potential places to put their coats). We suddenly wondered if it would be a better idea to have Dan come over to the main house for some forgeable reason and then have him come back over with us, but actually telling Dan would be a problem seeing as by that time he would be driving back with Ami in his car. As he can't speak on the phone and drive at the same time, Ami would be the one picking up. Badbad.
So, we wondered: what if we got Dan's Dad to use the intercom to ask him to come over for some reason?
Problem: He might bring Ami.
So, we wondered: What if I phoned Dan up (and this was soemone else's idea) and asked if he was doing anything tonight, but then forgot that it was Valentine's Day o_o; Yes, that's actually how the plan was presented. I didn't understand it either.
Problem: Why would I phone up to tell him I forgot it was Valentine's Day?
So, we wondered: Why don't we make it look like I've come over to return a video?
No problems spotted yet. We spent ages debating on the video it should be- something with comedy value was preferred. Someone suggested 'Truckers', but I told them I already had that ^_^; It was a close call between Return of Jafar and Tarzan, but The Return of Jafar won out. So when Dan gave us the signal we set the plan into motion.
*cue Mission Impossible theme*
What I hadn't realised was that Dan had left the door open in the smaller house, so us formulating a plan was redundant as we could just sneak in anyway. We vowed to be as quiet as possible and even worked out a strategy that meant we completely missed the gravel path, thus avoiding noise that could give the game away.
When I got to the front door, everyone else (about eleven or so people) backed against the wall like spies while I inspected the red wood panels. It used to be a stable or something- the door was originally in two halves that swung out individually. But anyway, I whispered to everyone else that as the door was open, we should go in. So as we went in everyone else immediately hid in the kitchen. But the fact that the door was open suggested that we should just be sneaking up anyway, so I told people to come up behind me.
When we got to the stairs *dun dun* I waited a few seconds to find a suitable gap to plant myself in. When the time was right (they were playing with lightsabers), I strode up and said, in very ceremonious (but mechanical style):
"I have come to return The Return of Jafar."
Everyone behind me burst out laughing and immediately launched themselves at Ami, who was pleased. We handed her presents and continued with the frivolities, which included a very long game of Jungle Book Twister which I would have won had my leg not cramped up. Since Nick and I were doing so well, Dan decided to leave the spinning thing and just move our hands and feet to whichever space he thought most difficult to get to. It lasted for about ten minutes before my muscles almost screamed with pain and I collapsed on the floor, which thankfully was only an inch or so away.
Then came the rather less fun part of the evening- prank calls and I Know What You Did Last Summer. I've never been a big fan of prank calls or horror films, so I wasn't hugely impressed. Especially as they wanted me to do an Italian accent for the S&M expert in the 'RampantBunnies.com' hotline. I probably would have joined in had I been able to perfect an accent or character, but I wasn't in a great frame of mind.
I fell asleep in a very awkward position; my legs are still hurting. I was only in a sleeping bag- the floor's rather hard, and I kept being pushed towards the corner of the room by the person next to me, who was almost always rolling over. I ended up lying pretty much up the wall with my feet underneath a very large homemade R2-D2.
This morning felt very much like the morning after the night before, with the same kind of emotions knocking around. Not knowing everyone very well, as nice people as they are, you can't help but feel a little left out, especially if the two people you do know well know everyone else just as well as you know them. So I left as soon as the Friends video stopped.
So it was fun, if a little chaotic. It was probably more enjoyable when people weren't drunk, or making prank calls. Still, it's an experience. And I can say that I did it, heh.
Now, to other things...

Stick me in a can and call me Oscar...
...because I really don't like Valentine's Day. Regardless of whether or not I get anything, I still don't like it very much. It just seems so commercial; at least with the shops round here it does. I'm not against showing feelings of love, but why not do that every day rather than just save it for one day when everyone else is doing the same thing. if you want to do something outrageous and special, do it- it seems silly to wait until the moment that everyone else'll be choosing to do the exact same thing. And besides, all they ever sell in the shops are Valentine's Day gifts. And pink is SO not my colour, but, like, what-ever!
I won't deny that not tending to recieve anything worthwhile or even give anyone anything else plays a part, though it does nag slightly. If anything, it's more being resentful and... almost repulsed by people already in couples. Some of the things that go on just seem so ridiculously sappy. I know I'm soft-hearted, but the undying vows of the romantic era just don't sit too well with me. Flowery poems and pink hearts, fluffy bears and all that crap just aren't what I'd define as having anything to do with love. Roses are nice, granted, but I'd much rather get someone something practical that they can actually use, or at least something that won't die after two days. Like rose bush. Then they can have roses whenever- you don't have to fork over huge amounts of money to get one or two when you can have a whole bunch already on your back patio. It lasts longer and will always be there to remind you of the person who gave them to you.
But then, I prefer fushias. Or lilacs- just something interesting and character-defining.
But anyway, that's all I'll say with regards to that, heh. I'm not trying to suggest other people shouldn't enjoy it- if you're with someone then by all means show them how much you mean to each other and have a rollicking good time.
I've been put in charge of organising a friend's surprise birthday party for his girlfriend tomorrow evening, so I'm going to have a lot more on my mind than where to display my pink and fluffies ^_~

Whoo...
I have just bought the best leather coat. It's really amazing, and I love it to pieces. It cost a lot of money, but I think it's well worth it considering I've been wanting one for years and it's exactly what I was looking for.
Wow, this weekend... I'd better make sure I have everything I need ready. Including AIM, heh. Hardly anything much has been happening, besides that. I got... two Ultra Rare Guardian cards (Ceal and Grarl) in Dark Crisis booster sets. They're not amazing- I'd have preferred Mirage Knight or Berserk Dragon (Super Rares), or perhaps Judgement of Anubis (Secret rare). DeathBug already pulled that out of a booster, jammy sod >.> I wants... too much, I think.
P.S. Outcast, you needn't feel left out ^_~ I was writing replies to people who'd added a comment to the post the day before, heh. Yepyep.

Erasmus-Socrates
The title means nothing, by the way. I was just typing out a prospective title and it came up with a drop-down list of things people have previously typed into text boxes.
I really want to pass my driving test. Badly badly badly so.
This'll probably be a short, relatively random post. I just wanted to let everyone know I was okay ^_^ Thanks to you muchly. Although my nostrils feel like they're burning whenever I breate in or out, I'm feeling much better than I was before.
*steals next bit outline from various people*
Mimmi: *hugs back* ^_^
AJeh: You better be better now, heh.
Arcadia: I think it's the general cold/winterness that makes people ill. Not just the fact that the cold dampens your immune system anyway, coupled with the fact that people are usually working relatively hard between January and Easter to pay off various spending debts and whatnot you have quite the volatile mix for bug-distribution. If it's not people going off on holiday and bringing odd illnesses to or from wherever they're going, people are just spreading them like wildfire from home. Bleh.
And thanks for the Shakespeare advice, heh. It's much appreciated ^_^ I found loads of goodies in 'As You Like It'.
rustym: Thank you ^_^
Ben: Yay, Boba Fett! I've not been in an RPG with him before, I don't think. Unless he signed up for Nazreal, I con't remember...
molletta: *also beats off illness with a stick* Eee! I did stay home yesterday, yes. And it did me good, too. I didn't get more plus worser ^_^
Shinmaru: Heh, I didn't realise there was such a gap in visit/rankings. I think some other people's sites are much more worth visiting than mine sometimes, but I appreciate everyone checking it out.
And well done on a very co-operative immune system o_o; I wish mine would do that.
In Other News
I really hate most Beatles songs apart from 'Help!' and 'Yesterday'. The rest can leave me alone.
My hair is forming into an Evlis quiff. Stop laughing- it's not meant to happen like that >_<; I just need more hair stuff.
I owe a lot of people Guestbook signings. I have them listed down on a sheet of paper next to me and I do plan to get them done. Hopefully tomorrow morning, before college.
Whoo, more nostril burn. I think I'll snort some milk or something. Byes!

Oooh, whee.
I believe I just made the 2,000th visit to this site. Thanks, everyone ^_^
Ugh, being ill and busy is a bad combination. And having various emotional problems doesn't exactly help. I think I'll stay home tomorrow. I don't think I'll be missing much, save for a chance to go somewhere with Jeremy in the afternoon while Lawrence has a tutorial *shrugs*
Things to do in the coming weeks:
-Learn three audition monologues for LAMDA examination
-Learn 'Marat/Sade' lines
-Learn 'Bouncers' lines.
-Prepare audition for Holland trip
-Decide on a song for Tuesday's written Singing assignment.
-Research Shakespeare scenes involving primarily women
-Find Beatles songs which relate to those scenes.
-Research 'Harun and the Sea of Stories'
I hope that's it. I won't go into the menial day-to-day stuff I have to do, because I do those every day anyway.
For now, I rest.

Hah...
I spent ten minutes working out a decent reply to James' guestbook only to find I'd signed it aleady. I was sure I had anyway, which is the odd thing. I should try to trust myself more. It was a good second entry, too...
Well, I finally posted in the RPGs that needed posting in the most. The next time it'll have to be posted in will probably be in another thirty days or so >.> As I gather, Wondershot and I are the only two who are still interested in the Outlaw Star RPG, and it's the usual four at elongated intervals in W.H.A.T.E. Ah well. I'll finish another RPG one day. Only two of the ones I've ever signed up for have actually finished, and at least three have never made it past the Recruitment forum.
For now, I'm working on Enter the Net. These two chapters/one long chapter need to be finished before v7. That's my target. Since I don't actually know when v7 will hit, I need to be as quick as*.
EDIT: Update: I posted the latest chapter in the Poetry, Fan Fiction and Literatre forum. Lookie lookie ^_^ I hope it's alright, heh. There's a bit more obscure humour in it- I think it works well.
I was glad that the Martian Successor Nadesico movie wasn't as awful as I feared. The animation was incredible and I liked everything it portrayed, despite the fact that the dubbers felt the need to put in swearing that they'd never done before in the series. It was just... needless, really. But the idea was fairly decent, even if the end was a little unfulfilling. I might start a thread about it in the Anime Lounge... but my posts'd probably get ignored. I'm just not as cool as maladjusted or Dagger IX1, aparrently ^_~
*Read The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse. It's one of the funniest, weirdest books I've ever read. Very good stuff. |
