Whoa!

Between now and yesterday I've jumped from 16 to 13 in popularity. That's... that, I guess. It's not exactly great news, but it's fairly interesting. I think so, anyway. I've clocked about 514 visits so far ^_^ Thank you everyone for taking an interest in me. Or for getting lost and finding this site by mistake. Either way, I are #13 now.

*forgets title*

Bleh, I've forgotten what I was going to say originally, but I was pleased with it >.> If I can remember what the title was going to be I'll put it up on the next one. There was a story to go with it too, which I've also forgotten. Ah well.

I went to Portsmouth on Thursday, and did not as much as I was hoping to do- EC Toys no longer trades cards any more, which left me with a Lava Golem that I can't get rid of. Growls ensued. Growls ensued previous to that when I got caught in a brief thunderstorm, having gotten to the shop half an hour before it opened >_<;

Still, I managed to get Ean a birthday present of Barrel Dragon and Airknight Parshath. And I found Predacon, too ^_^

Then I walked down to Toys R Us, just to see what they had. I didn't really feel like doing it after facing the disappointment of not having huge amounts of store credit at ECT, but as the next train only went to that station I guessed I might as well.

And I'm glad I did, heh. They had Salamalyon 2! He's a "Transforming" BeyBlade creature. I say "Transforming", because you actually get the dragon thing separate from the blade and it sits on top, but it looks fantastic anyway. I also got Bloody Roar: Primal Fury for £10.

It's one of those games I'd been thinking about getting for some time but never actually wanted to fork out £40-odd for it. So seeing it in the bargain bin was pleasingness.

Playing the game, I don't think it's worth much more than £10 anyway. It's fairly old, not exactly revolutionary in any way. I got it mianly because the characters turn into fantastic-looking animals then beat the hell out of whoever the opponent is. At least, that's the theory.

I usually stay well away from 2-player beat-em-ups, because I just find their storylines and gameplay rather dull unless you have an intense wish to clobber the person playing with you. Which you might as well do in real life, save you some time and money.

It's the button combinations that really get up my nose. Something like Smash Bros Melee I can cope with because it's just A+Left or whatever; this is Up, A, B, Down, A, A, B, X, Y, Up, Up, X... and so-on until your thumbs eventually drop off. And this is no different. I hate computer players who are too unfair. Yeah, this is me griping on only the second day of actually playing the game after having little practice, but it still annoys me. I don't think I'll get Soul Calibur 2. Unlike a lot of gamers I tend to buy a game with my sister in mind, because we kind of share them, even though I play on them a lot more. Hence, I like being able to have her playing as well. Smash Brothers is great, because you can have you two against two others and you can either be against each other with a CPU-controlled teammate or both against some computer nasties. The same with TimeSplitters 2. So it's not the best game in the world, ultimately.

Still, all things considered, Primal Fury is rather nice.

Alice's Adventures in Chichester
I'm going to audition for the part of the Gryphon in Alice, I've decided. It has a cokney accent, so I've been practicing glottlestops, heh ^_^ Should be good. I don't particularly mind which part I get, but that's what I'm aiming for.

That's... relatively boring, heh.

What Magical Girl Are You?

I don't like a lot of theOtaku's quizzes. The Anime Stereotype one I'm sure definately corresponds to exactly the wrong answers I gave. I fail to see how any of those answers can be deemed brooding.

Who's Your Anime Girlfriend?

Ah right. Sorry to disappoint you, Belldandy...

What NERV Child Are You?

Nope, no secret here. Well, maybe. But it's nothing hugely bad, if it is anythng at all.

Whoo

Ah, I forgot the main bulk of what I was going to say, save for 'Hello, I am still here'.

Dark Conflict's going well, hehe. I've just started Chapter 6, although that's still only the story equivalent of 4 in old terms. Not that that'd mean anything to most of you, heh ^_^;

I bought the Bionicle movie today! And... the best way to sum it up is not that bad. Certainly not quite as good as I'd hoped, but still enjoyable. I think they fiddled around with the Toas' design a little too much; although they still looked good they weren't quite kosher in relations to the toys. The voice acting was alright, although some characters annoyed me somewhat. I'm keeping it, but needless to say I'm not going to admit it to David. I would be disowned, methinks...

Seeing as so many of the cards didn't sell, I'm off to Portsmouth tomorrow to try and trade some at EC Toys, and also to grab a birthday present for Ean.

AH! INFINITY IS THE BEST SONG IN THE WORLD EXCEPT THOSE WHICH ARE ALSO THE BEST IN THE WORLD! I love the theme to Lost Universe so damn much. I listened to it five times before I'd even left home this morning. Yeah, it's probably a bad idea and I'll get sick of it before too long, but I have other CDs to listen to when that happens ^_^

Woo, life is busy. Now to organise St Albans details...

*laughs*

OtakuBoardsLand!

Ah, I'm not feeling funny enough to come up with anything good. I guess my ride would involve a lot of swordfighting, anthro furry stuff. Perhaps I could replace the Pirates thingummy [I think] they have (sorry, DisneyLand fans, I've never been there so I don't know too much about it). Either way, it'd probably be a relatively mellow ride. Nothing too exciting, heh.

*strains brain*

I really need to ask Shy about this (and I will get onto AIM to ask him at some point, heh), but I want to try and resurrect the Anime Stereotype High School RPG. I blame myself partly for its dying anyway (along with Goombas, Don't Shoot The), but it was such a great idea. I'm not going to have time to actually write the series as I was hoping to at the moment, but an RPG would at least get things moving and interesting.

Stereotypes that I can think of so far [and this is where I realise that I know very few actual animes]:
-Companion monster (e.g. Digimon, Pokemon, Reyearth spirit beasts)
-Mascot creature (e.g. PenPen, Ryo-Ohki)
-Shy, reluctant hero (e.g. Shinji)
-Boistrous female (e.g. Nene, Asuka)
-Shy female (e.g. Rei, Melfina)
-Smart one (e.g. Jim Hawking, Washu)
-Badass (e.g. Irvine, Gene, Heero)
-Huge mecha (e.g. Evangelions, Gundams)
-Child superhero (e.g. Goku)
-Mysterious one (e.g. Bakura)
-Honourable one (e.g. Karl Schubalz, Wufei)
-Double-agents (e.g. Kaji, guy in BGC:T2040)
-Evil head of corporation (e.g. Gendo Ikari)
-Evil one's right-hand-man (e.g. someone)
-Sadistic Evil Maniac (e.g. Raven, Hilz, Prozen)
-Wise old man (e.g. Professor Oak, that guy with the chickens from Medabots)
-Transforming hybrid (e.g. Aisha, Generators)
-Girls with powers (e.g. Sailor Moon cast)
-Hothead (e.g. Davis, Isamu from Macross Plus, Aisha again)
-Ditz (e.g. Mihoshi)
-Antisocial hero (e.g. Suzuka? [From Outlaw Star])
-All-round nice innocent (e.g. T.K, Quatre)

That's all I have at the moment. If anyone can think of any others, they're well received. Not that I'd use them all, I just like making lists, heh.

Chain of events...

There's no-one on. I am really bored. Boredom leads to thoughts, thoughts to frustration (in this case), frustration to loneliness, and that itself perpetuates more loneliness.

Hyper deleted his MyOtaku site, which kind of depressed me. He's leaving OB too, which is another added to a list of far too many. I guess not everyone can stay here forever. I noticed Roxie's gone too...

I don't like thinking about it, naive as I am. I wasn't even going to post in this until I decided to push myself to grab the HTML code from the document I'd saved it to.

Bweh, I'm alright. I just need time and a little inspiration. I want to write more...

'Nuther Quiz.

You are in another world
You are Fantasy. You have an active and firey
imagination, and you love escaping into
strange, beautiful worlds. You're intensely
curious and dive in to new experiences with
vigour. As a result, you may sometimes be
dissconected to reality, or at least bored by
it. People see you as a dreamer, and they're
probably right. You spend a lot of time inside
your head.

Art Thou? -Your Art Style Personality
brought to you by Quizilla

There's certainly that side of me, yes. Sometimes I think I daydream too much for my own good. Still, I enjoy it. I love that picture, heh.

Great Expectations

Still none of my cards have sold yet. I guess because it's still only the beginning of the year, people haven't had much of a chance ot settle into their school lives to take time out to relax, or something. Either way, half term would probably be a better time to sell. Never mind. It just really frustrates me becauseall I need is another 20p in the PayPal balance and I'd be able to use it to buy some stuff I want >_<; Damn whoever it was for not paying by PayPal last time.

Technical Expectations
Courtesy of MilleFan finding a link to a legal download site, I downloaded 'After, In the Dark', from the Macross Plus soundtrack. It told me it was an mp3, but it was only 1.36 Megabytes and nine minutes long, whereas 'Through The Night' (Outlaw Star theme) is four minutes long and bigger than three Megabytes. I think they made a mistake, because the sound quality on AITD isn't nearly as good as the Outlaw Star theme. I really like 'After, in the Dark', too, and thorughout all of it is irritating white noise, dammit. Ah well. My gripes for today.
