Rollercoaster Day
Wow, Monday was unbelieveably busy, which is why I've not been able to post until this afternoon.

Assessment Time
Well, it would have been a normal college day, were it not for the Post 1985 acting assignment we were going through today, something which most of us were quite dreading Well, anyone who'd not done one before was. Like me, somewhat.

Anyway, I set my alarm for 6:25. I never want to wake up that early again, although I know I will next Wednesday morning and even earlier than that on Friday, heh. Still, this was to have a shower. They usually take about 15 minutes, this was 25 because the house was cold. Not to the extent of frost on the carpet, but it felt damn close.

I don't eat breakfast before I go out anymore. It always used to make me feel sick, so I decided to stop. But, not having enough time and through still not feeling hungry enough I had it at college. The hash browns were decidedly oily yesterday- icky. But welcome once I stopped feeling sick half-way through Stage Management.

My performance was due at 10:30. I'd recorded my lines onto tape previously, and got to listen to them once before going in. I was very nervous- pacing around the stairwell by the Staff Lounge, running around pillars to relax myself.

It's strange- as soon as John came outside, I didn't feel so bad anymore. He wanted to cup of coffee, which gave me a few extra seconds before I went inside the Assembly Hall to calm down. He talked me through what would happen in the LAMDA Gold exam- it turned out this was pretty much just a rehearsal for the first segment of that, but I still wanted to do well anyway.

Really I should have had props, but I didn't have anywhere to get a three-foot tall puppet and some bricks at short notice. It went well anyway, although I hit my right hand hard on the floor when acting out the bricking the puppet. I ignored it. Until I got outside, then I winced.

I was very pleased- I only missed out three sentences, and that was due to nerves which I'd pretty much managed to control throughout the entire thing. I'm a lot more confident about things than when I was at the start of the year.

Orng?
Jeremy was kind enough to offer me a liftot Portsmouth, where I wa splanning on going after the assignment. He wanted to come too ^_^

The main reasons for going were for clothes from Topman and Magician's Force boosters, neither of which I actually had much success with- I didn't like the shirts and the shop was closed for rennovation. Bastards.

Still, we had a good time, and Lawrence joined us eventually. Looking in Burton Menswear, I found a nice black belt and he got a vibrantly bright T-Shirt, whose colour according to the label inside was "Orng". Presumably because that's the noise you make when you look at it in bright sunlight.

But that's not it. We drove back to Chichester (after a short detour at a lay-by for Jeremy to settle his guts ^_^;) and went bowling. I only lost once this time, and managed to come second on the other game. I used to be good at bowling- I think it's technique I need improving on. I can hit the pins fine when the rails are up (and surprisingly I don't actually hit the rails- it's more of a psychological handicap than anything else, because you're determined not to hit them), but as soon as they're down the balls go straight down the gutter.

This was all to pass the time before seeing The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen ^_^; Still having well over an hour left until the 6:45 showing, Jeremy decided we should go to Bognor. This was farcical, mainly because Lawrence was spontaneously making up lyrics to Iron Maiden songs about Digestive Biscuits, and we got lost no less than three times.

Jeremy: Which way now?
Me: Left- there are some traffic lights there.
Jeremy: Left then.
*car turns right*
Me: ...

We got back in time, miraculously.

The League of Exchtraordinary Gentlemen.
For anyone that noticed, the 'Exch' above is a nod to Sean Connery's accent. Yes it is.

I really enjoyed the film- exciting, funny, looked great. Although if I were an Extraordinary Gentleman I'd be a werewolf. If possible. It needed more Canis Lupis. And the bit where the Invisible Man was lying on the ground having been burnt by a flamethrower really freaked me out, even though all you could see were his injuries. It still makes me feel ill when I think about it. Still, all in all a very good film.

Then I came home. But because Dad's on annual leave I couldn't get online, save to check OB and MyOtaku sites. Mixed feelings there- on the plus side, I do have another sign-up for my Tenchi RPG, hehe. I'll have to start that soon.
