Beak Break.
Okay, so there wasn't a dress rehearsal. I got in an hour and a half early >_<;
Still, I got to try on my Gryphon head,and it really does look amazing Sue the Wardrbe Mistress has done a really fantastic job. Lovely dark brown feathers, glass grene pupils... Ah, I could go on forever but I've not even seen it finished yet. The costume was completed in full in the very late evening, after we'd all finished. I might just have to try it on tomorrow ^_^
Although the costume hopefully won't need any alterations (movement's pretty restricted with the wings on), my character does. John sugested I looked at a cartoon character for ideas. He needs to be bigger, more like a caricature. So... more emphasis on general movements, I guess? I already have to move my head in awkward ways to make the head look in the right direction, which is made more difficult by the weight and hood of feathers underneath it. Still, it's going to be interesting. I'm looking forward to it, although a large proportion of the class members aren't lking it very much. I can't understand why, really. It's good fun. Well, I think so. Maybe it's just the lack of Cheshire Cat and Caterpillar that did it *shrugs*
Dodo Dancing
The Lobster Quadrille is now going to revert to its pre-learnt nigtmare stage. In it I dance with the Dodo, a character who is double-cast. One Dodo is taller than me, the other is shorter. They both wear the same costume, but the beak is absolutely huge. I'm sure that and mine are going to collide. Trying to get my arms up high enough to do everything's probably going to be awkward as wel- as it stands, I can only move my arms so high, and for the Quadrille I need to move them up so high more. Ah well. I'm enjoying this so much ^_^ Every time I do something like this it makes me more confident that it's what I want to do.
In Other News...
I've chased up my Outlaw Star OST Volume 2- they don't know why it's being so late either. Rrr. I hope it arrives soon. There are so many more themes I still have to infect my brain with... |
