*groans*
I feel incredibly sorry for this computer (this being the downstairs one with Broadband). It's blessed with the fastest connection in the house, but there are so many other problems with it it's more productive for me to use my own one upstairs with its piddly 28K modem.
This computer has 23 objects on the Desktop from Startup, and a further 10 in the Taskbar. This means that crashes on startup are a very regular occurrence. And it's running very slowly as I type anyway. Dad puts on so many things that I've never ever seen him use... he's a sucker for gimmicks.
That said, everything on here is useful to an extent- I can see the point in having ink-saving programs to save money, but with the amount we print it's going to make bugger all difference. That's for companies who do large-scale production of paper things, really.
I guess there's not a lot to complain about, but it just frustrates me. Ah well. This is about three years old now...
What's that funky jazz?
Dad has a new game. It's called Schizm.
Does anyone remember Myst from years and years ago? It's spawn of that, essentially. I'm sure these things are made for readers of The Guardian newspaper- they tend to have a rather pretentious storyline, hugely cryptic puzzles and a walkthough that comes in volumes.
I really can't handle these games, heh. I am not a puzzle-solver or a strategist in any form, save for deciding which move to use against Link in Smash Bros Melee. I tried playing Myst years and years ago, got stuck on the first puzzle, read the manual and then left it well alone. I much prefer the more platform-based puzzle games, or ones where all you have to do is move and shoot/hit/eat/avoid.
What's more, these puzzle games take up about 300 MegaBytes. Still, if it keeps him happy...
Whee!
I had a great phone conversation with Pyro last night. It was about two hours and 45 minutes, by my reckoning, with a very short break in the middle to save phone money hours things. We discussed many things, hehe. I like being able to have long, detailed discussions, either over the phone or the internet or actually in person. It's nice to talk.
I should really put my picture in for Queen Asuka's OB picture site, but I have a few reservations about it. Nothing against Asuka, I'm just a little shy about putting it up. It took me long enough to get the original up on OB anyway, heh ^_^;
Ah well. I shall think about it. |
