How NOT to handle a road check . . .
So I was out downtown with some people. We had some fun, had some drinks, ate some food, hung out at the beach . . . y'know, a good ol' time catching up and stuff.
Driving everyone back home, we come through a counter-attack road check for drunk driving and all that. That's fine, that's okay, it's good they're there. Also, it was a long time ago when I last drank . . . so we're going through, I see the guy waving his cone-flashlight and stuff . . .
. . . "He's saying stop! Stop!" My friend says. I snap to and stop, and roll down my window.
Stupid move number one.
Officer comes in, takes a look. "Where you coming from?" He asks. Of course, we had gone a bunch of places and I hesitate to answer. I look around the car and ask, "where did we go?" Finally, the answer was "just cruisin' around."
Inability to answer quickly. Stupid move number two.
"Any drinks tonight?" he asked. "Yes," I answer truthfully. "How many?" "Two."
"Okay, please pull over into the center of the road . . ." I do so, he comes, tells me to turn off the engine, and come out with my license and car registration. It takes me almost a minute to come out because I can't find which pocket in this little booklet has the registration.
Stupid movie number three.
I come out and walk over to his parked cruiser. I give him my stuff.
"State your full name and address." I do so quickly and smoothly. "Is this your car?" "No, my mom's." His next question, "who is the registration under?" I answer with my mom's name . . . correction, my mom's OLD name. He gives me a funny look and I quickly correct myself with her current last name (married a few years ago, y'know).
Stupid move number four.
So he then goes through procedure, telling me that I have to do a breathalyzer test and all that. "Take a deep breath, and blow as hard as you can into the machine . . ." he says. All the while, I'm confident that it'll be fine, though the fact that I've just screwed up every conceivable other bit so far has sorta got me a little concerned - only fair, right? So yes, blow into the machine . . . . .
Result: "000"
I had zero alcohol in me. Too funny.
"When did you have your last beer?"
"About nine."
"You must've eaten something too, then."
"Yeah . . ."
Oh yeah, it was well past midnight by this point in the night. So yeah, the officer knew I wasn't drunk . . . . . just retarded.
So yeah, I thought this was kind of a funny story. That said . . . if any of you are old enough to drink, be sure to do so responsibly. Pay attention to where you've been, know where the car registration is . . . and by all means, don't forget if your mother has a different last name from yourself!!!
Ahem . . . . . so now that we've shared a moment here, I now want you all to go visit Molly's page and congratulate her on her engagement. It's the right thing to do, yo.

Finally started writing . . .
There's a possibility that I may or may not be working this evening. Sucks, ne? Ah well . . . . . oh, funny work story: I tried to put six garden shovels onto the shelf all at once. I failed, of course, and one fell straight down onto the bridge of my nose. It's a little red, a little sore, and probably a little swollen too. Yeah, that kinda sucked . . .
In other news, I finally started working on all those reports. Hopefully I can churn something out before the end of the week.
Umm . . .. . and yeah. That is all. Peace!

It's morphin' time!!!
I asked Nightcrawler and the Black Power Ranger questions today. That was fun. The panel about the state of anime in Canada was also pretty rockin'. It started a bit late which was a shame, but it was a really good little discussion.
Well, workin' again today, so I can't start writin' stuff juuuuust yet. Soon, though. Alright, bed time. Peace!

OMG!!! It's Alex and Keith from Infinite Ryvius!1!!!!1!!11!!
That title'll make more sense after I finish writing up all my reports, I promise.
That said, I am gonna have a LOT of article material once Anime Evolution is completely over! I'm picturing . . . 2 reports on the overall con, 1 on fandubbing, 1 on "Western Animation vs Japanese Anime", 1 (maybe 2) on (a) voice actor panel(s) (for the record, Alex Carter rules!), 1 on Yaoi (that's right, I went to a yaoi panel), and . . . tomorrow/today, maybe set up another one for another VA panel and another for "The state of anime in Canada". Crikes . . . . . I'm gonna be busy, methinks.
Anyway, bought some more stuff to mail far away . . . feelin' kinda poor now, but meh. Also finally gave this Inuyasha plushie to "The Girl" (remember her?) that I've had since the LAST Anime Evolution . . . yeah, fun times. Annnnd . . . . . to show just how fun these times are, here's a fun pic:
And yes, I did just hold up a webcam to a close-up of my bloodshot eyes. It's low-quality, but the idea still stands. And yes, last day's picture is a plush Kon wearing a konoha headband. It just looked good.
Alright, time to shower. Peace!

4 hours of sleep and a 14-hour day = death
I've got a LOT of stuff to write when it all comes down! Oh man . . . I'll just say that the Amateur Fandub Panel is getting a bit mention in it (I've learned some good stuff!). Indeed, I may have to later write a whole other thing about fandubbing sometime based on this panel . . . but yes, all that in due time . . . . . meantimes, here's what I've bought so far:
There's 7 more headbands in my backpack. Tomorrow I may need to get another one. Man, these things are expensive . . . . . ah well. And now I must shower. Peace!

Holy crap!!! Awesome anime site that can coexist very peacefully with this one!!!
So I'm playing around on ANN one day, and I suddenly see that Naruto's being shown on YTV in the fall about a week after Cartoon Network shows it. I thought this was rather cool. I mean, it's not often that the "big" animes come out in Canada so quickly.
So I look for the source of this news, which sends me to this site:
http://zannen.ca
It's a website about anime in Canada, and about all the TV stations that have, do, or should show anime! This is insane!!!!!
All the canucks of myO, I'm tellin' ya . . . you NEED to see this site!
Alright, that said, I'm goin' to an animecon today. Talk to ya later.
[EDIT: DAMNIT!!! "State of Anime in Canada is on Sunday! If I really wanna catch it, I'm gonna hafta cut it really close re: getting to work afterwards . . . maaaaaan!!!]

I should say something again . . .
So first and foremost, I'm being a jerk with the commenting. I suck that way. It doesn't mean I love you any less. So yeah.
I have more DVDs than I should right now. A full second season of Ranma 1/2, Kung Fu Hustle, Princess Bride, Sin City, Ghostbusters 1 and 2, Ladder 49, King Arthur, Meet the Fockers . . . . . man, we were busy with the DVDs this month . . . . .
That said, you all have to rent or buy the "Kung Fu Hustle" DVD. It kicks some serious ass. Lots of good bonus stuff, some subtle jabs at Miramax's inability to handle asian movies, and Stephen Chow speaking English in an interview! It's just good stuff . . . the interviewer's a dork, though, but meh.
Umm, lessee . . . Anime Evolution's two days away! I'm gonna be there for the first two days, and I'm gonna try to be a good correspondent for the site. Heh . . . clearly it's just because I wanna try to ask a question at a panel and open up with "James SomeGuy Leung from theOtaku.com . . ." I mean, how funny would that be?! I do want to catch a few of those panels, though. Things like the "Industry Q&A - The Gaming Industry", "State of Anime in Canada", and "Fan Subbing, the Old School Way" are high on my priorities so far. As for the guests and stuff, well . . . the website has a list of guests, though not too much about any panels they're with or whatever . . . if anyone's curious, the second Black Power Ranger is a guest . . . . .
So there's that. Then there's whatever shows I need to check out that I can catch in a video room. They also said they had rooms showing asian movies, so if anything's in there I'll have to see that too. In terms of vendors, I think I have to buy about a dozen Naruto forehead protectors and send them out all over the globe to people . . . which reminds me, I need to get a tally of which ones for whom again . . . . . man, that's gonna be pricey. Luckily, I don't have to buy DVDs this time around, because now I KNOW where the store is! Hehe . . . actually, when I went yesterday to buy a few of the above-mentioned disks, I asked the guy if he was gonna be running their vendor room. So I might have to look for him because he's a fun guy . . .
Sooo yeah. I'm gonna bring my red binder, I'll jot down bits about everyhing I see, and I'll try to write up a nice report for everyone here. Sound good?

8am shift. Boo!
Heh . . . again, I shall defer my big bad vacation post 'til another night. They called me into work yesterday afternoon and took away my planned day of Bleach, Yakitate!! Japan, Yawara, and Onimusha 2 . . . and that's not including the chatting, the Skyping (I wanna Skype-talk with someone!!!), and stuff.
Today I have a nice fun early shift. Dang. So, I shall just share more pictures. Now these are important, 'cause I've been trying to scan these for a couple days now. Finally I've done it:
So clearly, the Ochibi' is much nicer to look at, methinks. I'm just the tanned asian guy with poofy eyes and hair over on the edge of the shots.
Oh yeah, I got my hair cut today. I may or may not take a picture of that.
Alright, time for sleep . . . ish. Peace!
[EDIT: In case anyone's not sure exactly, that's myO's Color Me Evil in front of the red backdrop there. She's clever like that.]

Back in civilization of the coastal-ish land!
Back in Van-city. Feels pretty good. Alberta was nice, but well . . . I like seeing mountains and trees in my backgrounds, y'know? Hehe . . .
The drive back home was about 12-13 hours (we hit traffic just before getting back into Vancouver). Other than that, it was rainy at first, then really rainy, then we got out of the mountains and it got sunny . . .then the bugs pelted the windshield . . . . . and all three of us did slightly stupid things during our times behind the wheel, so we all have reason not to mention anything to anyone else.
Umm . . . I don't seem to have scanner software in this computer yet, so I'll hafta scan those wicked cool photobooth photos tomorrow or something. Meantimes, I'll show ya via use of my new toy the new watch I wear:
Not too shabby, eh? So again, you'll hafta ask Evil if you wanna see her necklace. 'Cause she has it.
And yes, I realise I look like a freak in those pictures. I'm still getting used to how to make webcams like me.
Alright, I'll say more tomorrow when I'm not sore, tired, and covered in sawdust . . . . . alright, I'll say one more thing: I got a spear for my birthday. I'll mention that later, though.
Speaking of birthday, though . . . now I'm really the same age as Onizuka! As such, the caption under my picture has been fixed.
Okay, now I'm really gonna go.

Vacation's end . . .
It's the final night in Edmonton right now. It ended fittingly enough. We had another barbecue with ribs, wings, and burgers. The ototo dropped a patty, I 'discussed' it into the bushes, we got in trouble for doing it and I had to go find it. Afterwards I ate a death-burger that was pretty pink in the middle - I expect to see the results of that tomorrow/this/Sunday morning. As well, we played another game of poker with the cousins and the cousin's friends - funny enough, I, being the one who has to wake up early to drive home, end up being the one who starts winning big time . . . . . once it was 11pm I just divvied up my chips amongst the remaining three . . . of all the times, I tell ya.
So yeah, early morning today, long drive back to the civilization of the port city I call home. And then . . . I can do inventory at work. Poopie.
I'll tell ya all about what I got, what I saw, and heck, maybe I'll even show a few things. I also have to get to work on matching my Bleach dialogue . . . annnnd . . . . . yeah, I don't like the idea of death-burger floating around in me . . . dang.
Alright, see you guys tonight! I'll be sure to fill ya in on how much poop the mother heaps on us for all that other stuff earlier in the week, a'ight? A'ight! Meantimes, we're shooting for getting out by 7am, so I'm outta here. Take care 'til we arrive, now - peace!
