LEEROOOOOOOOY JIEEEEEENKINS!!!!
So hey, who's seen this video? It's a good one. Basically it's a large group of PCs and a guy starts planning out how to get through this one really deadly room - for you see, one character needs something from the room . . . basically, this is how NOT to play a MMOPRG . . . . . funny, though.
So yeah, basically you can find this video anywhere with an internet search for "Leeroy Jenkins WoW" . . . but, here's one site:
http://www.alldumb.com/item/11855/
Oh, there is also apparently a www.leeroyjenkins.net out there as well . . . see how the internet affects everyday life now?
Enjoy!
Random SomeGuy Trivia: I have never really broken anything or anything like that. I have once scratched a cornea somehow, and other various cuts and scrapes here and there . . . . . probably the scariest one, though, was when I chipped an inscisor playing around in a friend's basement one time. It involved heavy physical play and we were all tumbling over each other. Eventually someone's body was on top of my head, my jaw clamped together slowly but surely, and my bottom teeth took a flake off the back of one of my top teeth. I stopped playing after that.

Umm . . . yup, still sick . . .
I bought some Nyquil and stuff, though, so that should be a plus.
Heh, what day is it now? I'm totally lost these days . . . . . ahh . . . so anyways, here I am crouching in this computer chair, my brother and 3 of his friends are at a fold-out Mahjongg table right next to me getting a poker game put together. This should be interesting . . . . . but first, shower!
Random SomeGuy Trivia: From about the age of five, my primary goal in life was to become a Paleontologist (think "dinosaur phase" but lengthen it by five thousand years). Anyway, That quickly fizzled in the span of about two years; I suddenly realised that my Biology-focused high school career did not exactly fit with the Geologically-focused Paleontology, and then I funked up Math 12. So now I'm an English Major.
(So, anyone got anything they want me to fit into next day's trivia thing?)

Yeah, I'm sick, no question . . .
Throat-related stuff is backing off a bit. But of course, nose-related stuff then began coming up. I bet I got it from a guy from kung-fu last week . . . grr . . . . . it's like Chinese New Year all over again!
So yeah, I caved and bought Battlefield 2 today. I'm seriously gonna hafta look into figuring out that router, though . . . silly things, those routers, especially ours which as perhaps the most complicated, indecipherable interface to play with its settings . . . tsk tsk tsk. Ah well . . . if anyone's curious, I think I'm gonna start a new daily post thing where I just post random trivia about myself that pops into my head during the day or whatever, and maybe I'll do this for a while. So here's today . . .
Random SomeGuy Trivia: My favourite "specialty" hot dogs are chili dogs. And how was it that I began to eat them? Because Sonic always ate them in both versions of the old "Sonic the Hedgehog" cartoons!

Dry skin + steel strings = weird fingertips
On one hand, pressing down on the strings doesn't hurt anymore. On the other, I'm doing a number on the skin surface . . . meh.
I also found out that you can play a pretty half-decent rendition of "Shell" if you tune down half a tone - "normal" chords and all. So that's what I've been up to . . . . . barre chords are still pissin' me off, though.
I downloaded the demo for "Battlefield 2" the other night. It runs well on my machine and is WILDY fun . . . sadly, we have a ridiculously impossible router to work with, so actual online play is a basic impossibility at this point. Either way, I think I need to buy it soon . . .
Umm . . . . . throat's still a little icky, but if I keep it wet it seems to be nice enough. Aaaaaaaaaaand . . . yeah, this has been a rather fast week. And now it's basically done.
[EDIT: Almost forgot! I need to register for courses this morning! 18 credit year . . . so light . . . . . heh, hope I don't muck it up . . .]
[EDIT 2: It's 7:30am now . . . and I almost mucked up my registration! This one course said it was in term 2 even though really it was term 1, and I couldn't process that in my brain very well. In any case, "Old English" has now been replaced with "Non-Shakespearean 18th Century Whatever" . . . . . and, seeing as I basically got 1-2 full hours of sleep last night (couldn't sleep), I'm gonna go back to bed now. See ya later today, perhaps. Zzzzzz.]

Recap of hump-day (alias Wednesday) . . .
I have decided that I'm probably sick or something, as my throat is kinda sore. It's nothing too bad, I don't think, and it definitely feels better than before.
Starting today, I get to find out just how long it takes for a small package to go from here to Northern Europe. Looking forward to finding that out.
Worked another 8 hour shift today. Spent most of it stocking shelves. Spent rest of time finding reasons to pick a fight with the price checker (or, defending myself when a fight was being picked by the price checker). Good fun, good fun.
For dinner, I went to a nearby Vietnamese place because that Enin guy got me craving Pho. That said, I cleaned off my spring roll and got the broth of my large noodle bowl down beyond the top edge of the spoon if you pressed it flat across the bottom of the bowl. I could have finished it off, but considering I still had to go back and work, I decided I'd prove my point to Mr. East another day.
(But seriously, man, every time I put down the spoon, I just thought, "ah, stupid Enin's not gonna be satisfied with this . . .")
Just saying again that that "Vision of Escaflowne" thing is up if anyone's interested. If not, though, that's fine too since it's not quite as thought-provoking as some of the things I've written before. Ah well . . . . . time to shower. Peace!

Nice long, quiet day at home . . .
Ears stopped ringing. Glad to get that over with . . .
So, I spent about three hours straight speed-watching "Vision of Escaflowne" in its entirety for research for a new article (which I have since submitted). This marks the first time I've sent in an anime-specific analysis, so this should be good. But yeah, I've had this idea for an article for like, a year . . . but, since it required watching the whole show from scratch (didn't wanna rely on online guides and stuff), it put me off. So yeah, feels good to finally get this one over with.
Oh, the other night I finished my Britannia campaign and crushed the Gauls. VERY glad to get that one over with.
Ummm . . . . . other than that, with a little luck today I'm gonna be able to mail off another cool little package to another wonderful girl far away from me. Over with or not, I'm just glad to do it.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand . . . . I'll leave you with This link here because I feel I must share why the US Marines Silent Drill Platoon is so insanely cool (there's a video in there). Annnnnd . . . yeah.
[EDIT: My slightly spoileriffic article's up . . . and there is a glaring grammatical flub in it! Gah! Anyways, you can find it HERE. Enjoy!]

Dat dat duh, duh, duh, duh, duuuuh, dat duuh, dat dat duuh, duuh dat daah, duuuuuh . . .
I've just decided that I find United States Marines to be rather cool. Is it from the fact that my bro met a couple during this military ball and enjoyed their company? Is it because they have a ridiculously neat theme song? Could it be because I just finished Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault for the second time just now? Is it all of the above? Yeah, it's possible . . . . . then again, maybe it's because of that Silent Drill Team that manages to baton-twirl rifles WITH bayonets on them? Also possible . . .
So yes, marines are quite cool I feel . . . and that is how I shall begin this week as my ears slowly stop ringing from that Night Market performance.

It didn't rain, finally!
Though it wasn't for lack of trying . . . I swear, as I drove on the freeway to Richmond (the city my Superstore's in), There was only one dark patch of clouds . . . directly over said-city (also where Night Market is). But, it was flash rain, and light and sparse and it let up finally. And, I was happy to find out that I did indeed have the evening off of work so I could do the Night Market thing.
That said, the performance was as good as we could have hoped, considering how brutally undermanned we were. So there's one lion (two people), one drummer, one gong-player, two cymbalists, one person carrying the flag, and one person pulling the drum cart, making for a needed . . . 8 people on call at one time. We had about 12 people at first while the kids did extra stuff on the stage . . . but, we made it, finished it . . . . . and now we're all deaf (loud drum, loud cymbals [especially me, I play loud]).
But yeah, after the Night Market thing (which started about an hour late because stupid politician-type people came late . . . jerks), we went out for all you can eat late night sushi, which kicked ass. I am insanely full now, though . . . annnnnnnd . . . . . it's 1:30am as I type this, so we were out late. Now I need to shower and sleep.
Oh, just for fun, the official website of the Richmond Night Market is http://www.richmondnightmarket.com/home.html. I only bring it up because in the flash intro, the first image it flashes is of a guy from my club in a crouch while in a lion . . . he looks quite spiffy, I might add. Hehe . . . go Edmond!

And now to confuse you . . . TWO game references!!!
We just finished clearing off the last of the Japanese positions at Guadalcanal, and are on our way to Tarawa Atoll. Granted, this is the second time I've done this, but I've gotta clean up on all those hidden objectives, yo.
Meanwhiles, the war with the Gauls hasn't moved at all since I last mentioned it. It seems I have been neglecting my ancient era British Empire . . . . . oh well, something to think about for the weekend, perhaps . . .
So, if there is clear skies tonight, we'll FINALLY do that blasted Richmond Night Market grand opening thing. Of course, to complicate things further, I generally work Saturdays, so unless the other weekend guy was able to say yes to coming in this evening . . . heh, I'm sunk.
Don'cha just love weather-specific event planning?
Finished watching "Akira". It's over only 2 hours, but it does seem long (maybe I was just tired). Either way, it's a very cool movie and a very neat look at "old school" anime. 'Cause really, how can you turn down mutated child psychics?
Alright everyone, have a good weekend of sorts, a'ight?

Via Mimmi, via Kat . . . . .
Feelin' lethargic tonight, didn't go to kung-fu . . . on the other hand I watched "Superman: The Movie" with commentary (Richard Donner's a funny guy). Heh, yeah, I'm on a total Superman kick right now, no question . . . first it was "Lois & Clark" (SUCH a great show), then it was random episodes of Justice League (the one with Captain Marvel was glorious), and tonight it's Superman DVDs.
Along with the 4-disk movie box, I also bought "Akira" which, as an anime fan, I dearly need to see (my stepdad's watching it upstairs - as I walked by, he said it was "quite a good film"). And . . . I impulse bought "Tora Tora Tora" because it was $12. I'm bad like that.
Aaaaaaaaaaaanyways, other than that bit, let's do some deadly sin-type quizzing!

5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through (one of the long ones...)?

Just internet quizzes . . . ish.
