Ohhhh . . . . ringy and achy . . . . . .
Just reportin' in. Chinese New Year is for the most part over for me finally. I am, however, currently in a whole load of discomfort and don't think I could give my account of it justice. Suffice to say that the performances have sucked the energy right out of me for now.
I'll talk about it tomorrow or something, maybe, a'ight?
Oh, and I bought PMK disks 1-3 the other day since ADV stuff was 20% off at that store. Not too shabby, eh?
Oh yeah, and happy Singles Awareness Day, for those of you who are keeping track of that.

Chinese New Year, Day 3 . . .
New Year's dinner is yummy. Overly filling, but yummy. Heh, funny thing, I heard that apparently a lot of churches were being lenient to their parishioners, and said that since Ash Wednesday fell on the same day as Chinese New Year, people could be exempt from fasting.
And who says the church never budges on things? Hehe . . .
Oh yeah! And the episode of "Smallville" that they filmed at UBC aired last Wednesday! They showed off the library heavily, called the old Math Annex a dormitory, and made BC Place Stadium part of the campus for a day! Yay! Hehe . . . . . ah, it's fun to have a show filmed in your city . . . especially when your brother's friend gets a role in it! That's right, Smallville followers, I personally know a future Smallville security guard who's gonna get shot up in all the best ways! Heehee . . .
Yesterday, I bought some more anime. Now I'm up to five "Neon Genesis Evangelion: Platinum" DVDs with two more to go in the next couple months! Yay!
Likewise, after many, many, MANY months of stalling and prodding by certain peoples, I finally got around to buying "Escaflowne: The Movie". Verdict?
Gorgeous bit o' movie-watchin', I must say. I, personally, was most satisfied with its overall message of going on living. I've heard at least one person talk about how the movie version of Hitomi reflected her own feelings a lot of times . . . and, well, I guess that gave me a bit more of a connection to it, huh? Heh . . . that said, it could've been nice to have some company for watching that . . . ah well, another time, I guess.
Um . . . tonight I might not get to play with everyone after school, because I need to go learn how to use a dragon for Saturday (biiiig performance! 8 lions, plus the dragon, plus three teams of lettuce-destroyers . . . . . no one singing the Gong Xi song, though, thank goodness). So yeah, I may or may not be around . . . I'll be busy learning to tame this mother:
(It takes 7 people holding sticks for this one - I think I'm gonna be #4 or something)
But that's not for a little while. Meanwhiles, I think I need to go study for a Greek Myth and Religion midterm I'm having later today. So with that, I shall take my leave. Ka kite ano!
(Heh . . . I should start asking if people ever know what languages I'm using for my goodbyes . . . . . meh . . .)

Goong Hay Faut Choy!
Happy Chinese New Year! It is the year of the rooster, and, um . . . . . yeah!
(These Lion Dancers from a performance three years ago are courtesy of the Kin Fung Athletic Association of Vancouver, BC . . . and no, I'm not one of them [heehee].)
Everyone try to hunt down some Chinese New Year type celebrations in your local areas if you can. I guarantee they won't disappoint.
And . . . . . that's about it, yeah. Dai gah, sun tai geen hong!

Mid-day post . . . how out of character, ne?
Yeah, I'm not sure why I haven't been here the past few days. Probably being lazy again or somethin' . . . anyway, where to begin . . .
Alright, the performance last Saturday went really smoothly, which was great. We did our 5-lion thing on the stage, then the kids went on stage to perform their kung-fu. We, meanwhile, broke up into two separate lion+drum teams to start walking around the mall to do Choy Chang at all the stores (wrongly translated, it basically means "lettuce destruction"). Granted, this mall doesn't like stores using actual leafy vegetables since they're afraid people might slip on the pieces, but meh . . .
So yeah, with the splitting up into two teams, we essentially had two skeleton crews of lion dancers and musicians to handle the rest. That said, I was basically playing cymbals the entire time - I survived, though. Anyway, after it was done, my lower back on the right side was kinda stinging (and it still kinda is, I suppose); either from all the cymbal playing, or from when I went into the tail of the lion for a couple rounds without stretching (BAD idea!).
Next Saturday'll be even bigger. By then I hope I'll be able to snag some pictures of the performances for you guys.
Let's see, what else, what else . . . umm . . . . . . at school, I might need to start thinking about term papers again (eep). A couple I have good ideas for, another . . . ehhh, not so good. But we'll see.
In J-dorama news . . . . . Toudou Heisuke bought it! Man, you know a historical drama series is gonna end soon when all the main characters start getting cut up . . . so to reiterate: NHK's Shinsengumi! is a friggin' awesome show!
Other than that, not too much else I really need to say here. Everyone, take care of yourselves and others; valere iubeo.

Current Life in Review:
Girl I was waiting for came back. People are glad to see her back. That makes me happy.
Missed Wednesday morning classes and left before the last Friday afternoon class. I'm becoming quite the renegade, ne?
Still find myself singing "Moon on the Water" anywhere and everywhere I go. It's bloody catchy and so pretty, I can't help it!
Um . . . for all my MSN girls, I've almost completely pegged little nicknames to them all. Just missing one or two people and then it'll be fabulous . . . . . though, MSN'ing might slightly get tricky - busy times and all.
The older brother has ownership of the place he recently bought. He's not renovating the hell out of it so it can be liveable . . . meanwhiles, the previous owner's boat & fish motifs remain a constant eyesore to be wiped from existence . . . weirdo . . .
Smallville's getting crazy again! Ah, me loves that show . . . AND, I have recently been informed that the older brother's actor friend got a role in a future episode! I'm so excited about that! Sometimes it's good to be in Vancouver . . .
The first Chinese New Year performance is this afternoon. Should be fun, perhaps . . . that said, I better go make sure I can find the right club t-shirt . . . hehe . . . . .
Full moon waves,
Slowly in the surface of the lake,
You are there,
Smiling in my arms for all those years . . .
. . . . . it still won't get out of my head . . .
I guess that's pretty much everything ya guys need to know (or not know) for now. 'Til later, hej då!

Follow me . . . Baby I won't let you leave if you believe in me . . . . .
Standard of Living: quality and quantity of goods and services available to people. Can be measured in many ways.
Example: "number of refrigerators per 1000 people."
How this pertains to me:
Earlier today in a debate, I described the Greeks of the 12th to 7th century BCE as "not having as many refrigerators as they used to."
So yeah, we had a sort of debate about whether the Dark Ages in Greece were really "dark" or not. I was arguing "yes, they were" just because. It was pretty fun, I suppose. Heh, I did luck out in that since someone in our group took longer, I only had so much time to speak - that made up for how I prepared WAY less than everyone else in my group (me=shameful).
Ah . . . other than that, things have been okay enough for me. Nothing too fancy, nothing too bad . . . I'm just truckin'. I did find out about a new person who must be punished at myO, though, so hopefully we can take care of that quickly before this person starts wrecking the standard of living around here . . . so yes, I guess I better start writing some messages, PMs, or e-mails or somethin'. I don't help out enough with these sorts of things, y'know . . .
Alright, I'm done. Happy Friday, all. Au revoir!
EDIT: I changed the song at the top of the page again. I dunno, I thought it was as good a time as any . . . 'sides, I sing this song everywhere I go now!

Tandem Confectus Sum!
I got all my Naruto manga scans back. All 245 chapters, PLUS the 2 movie chapters. I feel quite happy about that.
And it only took . . . . . 3 days, though more specifically, about 4-5 unconsecutive hours.
Here's hoping they don't get away from me again . . . hehe . . . . .
EDIT: And here I am, 8:40am, NOT quite on the way to school yet. Basically, this extends this semester's theme of never waking up on time on Wednesday . . . I seriously need to start going to bed sooner or something . . . anyway, I'll go to my afternoon classes or somethin' . . . but yes, Wednesdays are evil, and not in the good way.

Just waitin' for the homecoming . . .
Heh, so much for "content tomorrow", eh? I dunno, I was tired and/or lazy . . . or something . . . . . ish.
I've been riding on a ridiculous Beck (the anime) high for the past while. What can I say, after not having new episodes for over a month and then suddenly getting seven, well . . . . . it gets ya giddy. That said, Beck (the anime) continues to astonish me in how insanely awesome it is. You will never think you could ever sing Engrish songs to yourself for an entire day until you see this show. It's good stuff.
On a slightly unrelated manner, 'Beck (the ojou-chan) still won't update due to what I am assuming are technical difficulties. My my . . .
So, this Naruto manga recovery thing might actually not be so bad. I spent an hour the other night and I process my way through volumes 1 through 9. Basically, if I at least keep at that pace for a few more days, I'll be done! And then I shall be happy . . . and, perhaps, shall start burning them all off . . . . . maybe . . .
Meanwhiles, I kinda feel like I should be tidying up a bit right now. Hehe . . . I'm hoping to see someone within the next few days. Hope she gets here soon, 'cause I've missed that girl . . .
Ah . . . other than that, I'm doing alright. School's school, finished all my games more or less, and the weeks of aching backs, flattened feet and ringin ears that is Chinese New Year creeps ever closer . . . . . so yes, I think I shall now get back to the Naruto manga re-getting process. Ciao!

Whoa . . . Sakura got hot . . . . . erm, for a manga character . . .
So here I am, stewing about how I lost all my Naruto mangascans in the great D drive disaster of 2005 when I see that the new chapter is out. So, I browse it and see what's going on now. Basically, they've time-jumped it two and a half years since everyone went on to train . . . Naruto has gotten taller, older . . . whoa . . . . . but that's not what's important right now!
Alright, so we all remember Haruno Sakura, right? Pink-haired girl who didn't have any super-jutsus? Just browse the Naruto fanart here and you'll see plenty of pictures of her back in her young years.
Well, two years later . . .
DON'T CLICK THIS IF YOU ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY MUST NOT SEE ANYTHING LIKE THIS AT THIS POINT IN TIME, EVEN IF THIS IS IN FACT VERY UNSPOILERIFIC IN THE TRADITIONAL SENSE:

But yeah, she filled out quite a bit, ne? Including the knee-high platform ass-kick boots and everything! Heh . . . I was quite surprised, I must say . . . in the good way, of course, I'm just sayin' . . .
Alright, I'll post content tomorrow. Dai gah joi geen!
