   Shanny! Sha-ha-ha-haaaaany!!!! Yeah!!!!!
If the above subject was too subtle, Shanny was the one who guessed right - who knows, perhaps it was a fluke, spur-of-the-moment sorta thing, but let's face it, right is right in this game . . .

(cut and paste this URL if the embedded thingy sucks:

Yes, the clip I was trying to convey in "bahs" and "dahs" was from the song "Half Pain", the ending theme to Witch Hunter Robin. Shanny, you rule. And I most definitely laughed myself silly. Anyhoo, I hope you all had some fun with this . . . I know I did (hehehe . . .)

Guess the Anime Song: Part 2:
Well, I haven't quite laughed myself silly just yet, but I am getting a good chuckle out of it so far . . .

Anyway, so far we've determined that it's not Card Captor Sakura, Cowboy Bebop, Hamtaro, or Outlaw Star . . . and no, it's not Family Guy either . . . . . anyway, yesterday's song in the post below is still up for grabs!

As always, I shall add a new clue for ya. I've already told you that it's an ending song for an anime that has been aired on Cartoon Network - specifically, Adult Swim. And now, to narrow it down:

Everyone's guesses have been to quick and bouncy! Slow it down a bit, relax, take your time . . . though the title may involve twice the words, the meaning is only really conveying 50% of an idea, anyway . . .
(TRANSLATION!: The song has a slow beat. The title of the song has only two words. The last part, um . . . I won't explain that one - that'd be too much . . .)

Hehe . . . what the suck does THAT mean?! . . . . . come on, minna-san! I know you can do it!!!

   Here we go again! Um . . . blame Duo for this one . . . . .
It's late, I almost didn't post for the day, and I really didn't have anything to say this moment. So, I'm gonna do the ONE thing ALL people dread at my page! Hehe . . . no, I'm not gonna talk about the human excretory system; I'm gonna make you GUESS WHAT THE HELL ANIME SONG I'M TRYING TO CONVEY!!!!! Come on guys! I'm in the mood for laughing myself silly again!!!

The clue for this one is that it's an ED for a show that has been shown on CN before . . . happy hunting!

Badah badah, dah badah dah, dah bah dah dah ba-ah,
Bah ta bahhh dahhh,
Badah badah, dah badah dah, dah bah dah dah badah,
Bah da bahhh dahhh,

Ba-ah dah badah, badadah badah badah,
Bahdah dah badah badah,
Badah dah badah badaaaah, daaaaah,

--> Dat dahhh, dat dahhh, dat badat dat dahhh, badahh,
Badah dadah dahhh, badadah badah dahhh, badahhh,
--> Dat dahhh, dat dahh, dat dah badah dahhh, badahh,
Badah dadah dahh, badadah badah dahhh, badadaaaaah . . . . .

(For those of you unfamiliar with this feature of my page, I'll answer the question: yes, I am insane.)

   So, here's something kinda wild . . . . .
I got nothin' good to say today, so instead I'll post a link to this game that my brother sent me:

   My own little world, huh?
(Ye all be warned, what comes next may border on melodramatic/sappy . . . just a hunch as to where this might go . . .)

This question was brought up to me the other day. I stopped to think about it, and I think it's actually kinda interesting since it's not really something I've ever really thought about before. It's funny, a couple weeks back my mother scolded me, trying to tell me that I live in a real world and not my own little one . . . I guess I've always taken pride in my belief that I have and will be able carve a nice little niche out of the current world we have, and I've been pretty happy with that. I suppose that's ideal enough for me, but let's imagine for a moment, shall we? I think yes . . . . .

First of all, I wouldn't change a whole lot to what we already have. I mean, we have crime, violence, wars, and all of that. But all that sort of stuff, I'd rather see it end on our own terms, and not wished away like magic . . . we're not gonna learn any other way, after all. Plus, let's face it - you know it, and I know it - I have one of the world's largest hero-complexes. Yeah, you know the guy who daydreams that he can be the one who tackles a distracted person out of the way of an incoming car, or fights off an unknown mugger on the street? That's me. Very much. And if I'm gonna live up my fantasy, I'm gonna need some sorts of bad guys, right? Plus, I'd hate for my brother to have nothing to do at work and all . . . . . hehe . . .

As for my professional life, well . . . for one thing, the university wouldn't have had me pegged as a third-year in my upcoming FOURTH year of schooling. Then I could have had a decent registration date like I should have had and could have had a nicer schedule with more courses pertaining to my major . . . now, I'd probably still suck at school, but I'd be a little more relaxed about it. Or, maybe I'd be less relaxed and would actually get to working on things? Hmm . . .

As for my current work, I think I don't really mind it. It's tough, and sometimes days get really brutal, either from running out of time to do my own work or stupid people asking stupid things . . . I dunno, sometimes the pain is worth it when you get a really good customer, sometimes. What I'd like to have different, though, is who I'd get to come home to after work.
Hey, brothers and parents are cool, but ya know . . . we all know what it's like to have a rough day at work and wish that you could come home to someone whose arms or lap you could fall into, who could remind you that it's all over for now, and who could just make being home feel all the more better . . . heh, this last little bit paints a picture of my current personal life rather well, doesn't it?

I guess I'll just finish off with this . . . my own little world would be just that: little! None of this separation-by-three-timezones crud that we've all been putting up with this year any more! Actually, wait . . . I've got a better idea! As I recall, some of us were planning on buying a ranch in the middle of Saskatchewan, right? Yeah, let's screw the timezones and get that lease - then, things will be good. We'll be living out by ourselves far enough away from the big cities (but not too far), living a relaxed, simple life. All the while, all those adopted children of ours would be around the side of the house, practicing all that personal stuff of theirs (shuriken practice, right?).

Along with this simple living, I'd still have plenty of time to sit down to work on my writing. By this point, I'd have written at least one book about something that, while not being a best-seller per se, was accepted by the many as something nice to read. While not writing, I'd be more than happy to put my arms to work and build extra wings to the ranch if we saw fit to gain new housemates, and I'm sure the animals definitely wouldn't mind. In any case, the important part of this image remains: we'd all be together, and not separated by phone lines and broadbands.

So yeah, I don't think big. What can I say? I'm asian, we usually don't grow very tall.

   Revenge of the Sith!!!
Now, this is interesting, because this is actually one of the titles people have been guessing as of late. Neat, huh?

http://www.starwars.com/episode-iii/bts/production/news20040724.html

So yeah, it's official. We have our new Episode III title. That is, until Lucas decides that "Revenge" is too harsh a word and changes it, in turn making all the "revenge" t-shirts worth millions of dollars . . . Harry Knowles' joke, not mine.

I thought that was kinda neat, I dunno. Star Wars shall always be sort of a first love of sorts . . . . . so, to balance out this weighty news:

Yeah, this is good too . . . . .

Conan The Barbarian is SUCH an awesome movie!
I felt like spending money, but Gladiator still looked a little pricey for me at the moment. So what did I do? I bought old school fantasy movies! I bought "Excalibur" and the "Conan: The Complete Quest" on DVD and it all came back as to how wonderful sword-style violence was back in the olden days. For the most part, it all still looks pretty good, stories are still told well, and music . . . ohhh, the music . . . . . on one hand you've got O Fortuna from Carmina Burana blasting while armoured knights clash. On the other, you have Basil effin' Poledouris wringing out one of the most epic sounding things ever! So to recap:

Excalibur (1981):
Insanely truncated version of the Arthurian legend. Lotsa fun lines and performances. The guy who plays Merlin rocks. If you can handle the sex and violence (hehe), it's some fun movie watching - easily a textbook example of King Arthur on film. And did I mention O Fortuna?
Come on, YOU ALL KNOW THIS SONG . . .

Conan the Barbarian (1982):
"Ahhnuld's" first big movie where he yells a lot and cuts off James Earl Jones' head. But then you get past all the sex and violence (hehe) and realise this is actually a pretty clever movie. A lot of times there's almost zero dialog, so it all gets very operatic (with love to Basil effin' Poledouris, of course). And come on, how can you not love a movie where a guy crucified on a tree bites an attacking vulture to death? Hehe . . . good fun, good fun . . . . .
I mean, LISTEN TO THIS THING!

Some rental ideas for the more adventurous of ya . . . or at least the ones who can get around rated-R stuff (makes me think . . . I saw these some years ago . . . hmm . . . . .)

   Back to Normal Life . . . erm, sorta . . . . .
The final visitor has taken her plane back to Tennessee. My summer of out-of-towner-show-'er-arounder is over and done with, my work schedule is starting to get busy again . . . and once again I have a little more time to catch up with some very important people whom I've missed (yes, YOU know who you are . . .).

I dunno, the latest week was fun. Got to go to lots of places, eat at lots of restaurants I'd never been to . . . hell, I even found out about a really cheap karaoke place from some other people I came to know! Oh, while on that subject: last Sunday when it was suggested that we go sing, one of the "local Japanese girls" sang "Sokabasu" from Rurouni Kenshin, causing my jaw to drop . . .

But yeah, aside from my idiot friend "Legolas" who thought it'd be fun to go swimming in the ocean with all our clothes on (it was fun, technically, except that I forgot to empty my pockets and my watch is now dead), it was some good fun . . . . . and I remain forever known as "really nice".

So yeah, I'm back. And now that I'm back, I think it's time I put a dent back into this community, ne?

Don't feel like griping tonight . . . instead, I'm gonna introduce you to my brother!
So the other night I was dropped off at work. I was planning on taking a bus home, but then those brothers of mine called me and said that they were coming to get me . . . . . so, instead of going home, I hung out at the place my older brother was housesitting and the three of us watched a match from Wrestlemania XX and Starship Troopers 2. The match was good, the movie . . . uh, not so good (of course my retard brother, upon getting into the car, tells us "I don't rent . . .").

Anyway, as the night went on, we all started sharing the little inside jokes, lines and catch-phrases that we've all grown up with and stuff. This is where this post comes in:
My older brother, 26 years old, officer for the Vancouver Police Department, has a degree in Kinesiology, loves dogs, hates punk kids . . . here are some things he's said that makes you laugh after a while!

"How do you get guns in this game?"
(Re: playing multiplayer Goldeneye on the N64)

"He really does that!"
(Re: watching wrestling and the wrestler does a move that you can do in the video game)

"You're starting to piss me off right now!"
(Apparently his favourite thing to say to people while he's working on the street)

"Ah! Monster!"
(Re: seeing a spider)

"Security! Security! Send a squad to the control roo-oo-ooooom!!!"
(Quoting a scene from an old "Mighty Mouse" movie)

"The only brave thing Frodo ever did was threaten Gollum . . . . . don't move, or I'll cut your throat . . . hah!"
(Re: the scene in LotR:TTT)

"I bet they're gonna have a miscommunication, and then one or both of them are gonna get hurt . . ."
(Re: people working together to do things, especially when doing so stupidly)

"He knows all the latest tactics . . ."
(Re: any soldier-character in a movie who takes charge of a battle or something [originated from the first big Colliseum fight in Gladiator])

"Don't be an idiot! You know the saying that money doesn't grow on trees?! Sticks grow on trees!"
(Re: his "cheering-up" speech to a crying kid who snapped his staff during a kung-fu competition . . . that kid actually won, despite breaking his weapon too.)

"He was a skater boy! He said see ya later boy! Lalalala . . . [burp] [fart] . . ."
(Re: how he once walked into the basement this one time, and to which I still can never forget . . . it was all so quick in succession!)

So yeah, that's ore no onii-san for ya. Maybe I'll make fun of ore no ototo some day. But until then, you people all have fun at the expense of the guy who owns a handgun. Mwah hah hah . . . gotta love the internet . . . . .

   What an exhausting week . . . . .
Just checking in again before I go to bed. Now, for all you people who've just started driving, or have been driving for a while now, I'm gonna give you a bit of advice: if it's not your car in the sense that you paid for it, you gotta tell people if you scratch it, okay?

Gist of the parable: I scratched the car last week in a tight-fitting parkade last week, and never got around to telling the elders about it. Of course, the lease on the car is almost up, so we need to return it soon. Then again, you don't want to return a scratched car back to a dealership, because they'll charge big money on ya . . . . . yeah, they weren't too happy . . .

So in effect, I've spent the past little while since Wednesday onwards either working or playing "out-of-towner-show-'er-arounder".

Wednesday, I took her around to places to see things and eat stuff. Then I went home and got chewed out for everything I wasn't doing for myself like finding my scholarship trust account thingy, taking life seriously, and of course, telling people about the scratch.

Thursday, I worked for the better part of the day (which was hell), got a surprise visit from the elders and switched the scratched car with the new car (oh yeah, we got a new car. I'll talk about that some other time, maybe).

After work, I got called by my younger brother telling me the elders don't want me driving around in an expensive new car downtown and stuff, so I had to drive home and switch it with an older one.
I then picked up "Out-of-Towner #2" and we went to a jazz club for dinner.

Then I came home nice and tired. Then the younger brother gave me the gist of the elder's chewing-out for today, because it seems I'm not taking this car business seriously and that I'm not responsible and stuff. Now, he may have added his own bits too, but for the most part it was the elder's words.

So yeah, spend a fun day/evening with someone and see some sights . . . and then come home to hear about what a disappointment you are. Good fun, ne?

(For the most part, what they say is true, and I most likely am not taking things seriously enough or doing all the right things . . . . . it is making falling asleep a little more interesting these days though, I gotta say . . .)
