So, yesterday was interesting, ne?
Kicked off pretty nicely, I must say. Got to the bus stop to go to school, and got into a line for one of the doors to the bus (it opens all of them so we can get on faster, which is then regulated by extra transit people). The transit people then pointed out these little rubber footmats along the sidewalk. It seems people were getting sick or something from what people were bringing onto the bus on their shoes, so we were told to wipe our feet before getting on the bus.
Now, let me tell you that these mats were SMALL! I mean, they were like, 1'x1.5'! But, nevertheless, the bus came, opened the doors, and we all wiped our feet as we entered the bus - all rather ridiculous, I must say, yes. But yeah, after we were all filed in, the transit lady stuck her head in the door and tells us,
"Everyone, I want to thank you all for cooperating and wiping your feet. Have a good day, and enjoy your April Fool's Day."
It was about that point when the bus started moving away and we all just looked at each other . . . . . "we've just been had, haven't we?" So yeah, I got taken for a ride that day too, if that helps . . . . .
Aside from that, later in the day I got my Film essay back (which rocked), went home and finished watching the Kyoto arc of Rurouni Kenshin, and then went BACK to school in the evening for a Battle of the Bands that my friend was competing in.
The best part about that competition? I was the official cameraman for them! I mean, I just came to watch, but then my buddy was like, "hey, can you do this for us?" So I spent most of their set walking back and forth, snapping pictures of them. Oh, and I also held the toque of the keyboarder as well (Toque (n.): Canadian term for winter-type cap worn especially for skiing and the like; from what I remember, it may also be known as a "beanie"). I didn't get to stick around for the judging, but they got quite the crowd pop, so they should have done rather well . . . OH! And they had a Lite-Brite with their band name pegged into it!!! Haha!
So yeah, that was Thursday.

Well, there's no easy way to say this, so I'll just say it . . . . .
Hey all, how ya doin' today?
So yeah, looks like I've got some demons of my own that I need to exorcise. I won't go into too many details, because there's no sense in my sweeping all of you up in it as well - that'd just be ungentlemanly of me if I did, wouldn't it? But yeah, I'm gonna hafta take some time away, and by the looks of it, it's gonna take a long, long time . . . . .
That said, I'm gonna leave my page up for maybe another week or so so people can get this message, and after that I'll probably scrap it, toss it to the winds, ya know . . . clean break and all. Probably seems a little silly, I know, but I really feel that in the end it'll all be for the best.
I'm never gonna forget my time 'round these parts, and I'll be sure to pop by now and then to see how you're all faring . . . but yeah, I guess that's really all that needs to be said . . . . . genki da, minna-san . . .
Ja ne.
"SomeGuy"
(EDIT: Incidentally, it has come to my attention that it is indeed April First . . . hmm . . . . . yeah, tomorrow's post is gonna hurt me a lot, methinks . . . [prepares self mentally for the backlash everyone else is gonna throw at him for being such an incorrigible bastard . . .] . . teh heh heh . . . . . crap, maybe this wasn't as funny as I first thought . . . umm . . . . .)

School less scary, time after school more scary . . .
So, my semester ends next week, on April 8th. Then it's summertime. How freaky is that, eh?
Well, it looks like I'm not gonna hafta get shipped off to Hong Kong to work . . . but the fact remains, I've spent the past THREE summers or so saying that I would look for a job . . . 'tis not good, ya know? I mean, it's not like I like having to DEEPLY ration how much money I use during the week - or month, for that matter - and I hate thinking that I'm not doing anything with myself and stuff . . .
Maybe I'm a little proud, ya know? And yes, being lazy doesn't help things either. But seriously, I HAVE to get out there!
I've got to fight for my money! In all honesty, it's not too much . . . otherwise, how else am I going to fight for my dream?
(Yeah, guess what I finally got around to watching? Heh . . . . . oh! And I've shamed myself: I'm 6 episodes into it and I STILL thought Souji was a woman . . . mattaku . . . . .)

Well, certainly didn't see that one comin' . . .
I do believe that all the Bittorrenters of this website more or less feel that yesterday was a day of great shock . . . . .
Yeah, Full Metal Alchemist continues to ever kick it up a notch in terms of story and content . . . like, by a LOT! Essentially, I was ready to relax that night, sit down, watch a few hours of anime or something . . . but then I saw episode 25 of FMA and I knew I had to come online . . . sure enough, there was quite the convocation (though I missed 'Beck [whom I always seem to miss for these things]) . . . but oh wow . . . . .
So yeah, that's the big thing of anime news for me today - that, and I can't get the opening theme song from Ranma 1/2 out of my head ("Yappapa, yappapa ii shan ten . . ." . . heeheehee . . .). Heh, as if reading the ENTIRE manga over the course of 1-2 weeks wasn't enough, eh? Ahhh . . . . . I'm stiff from working out, but that's normal for this time of the week. Yes, that was rather random, wasn't it? Good, good . . . later!

My exam schedule sucks . . .
Almost all of my exams are in the last week of exams! That means I don't get to wash my hands of them for a longer time than I could have! Poopie!
So . . . . . still haven't quite started on PMK yet . . . . . sorry . . . I'll get on that really soon, I swear! I mean, it's already all over, and people everywhere are so greatly moved by it (omnes commotus sunt, if you will) . . . but first, I must clean up the drive! That's right, I'm grasping at straws again with my hard drives - this week's gonna be a week of fire and Memorex . . . . . and I bet no one's gonna understand what the hell I'm trying to convey by that. Ah, it's not important . . .
Now that things are less weird, I'll try to think of some quality posting for this week - I haven't done that in a while, have I? So yeah, 'til then, keep fit and have fun!

Oh, sweet irony . . . . .
Hey all, how ya doin'?
Alright, so I guess the best way to kick this post off is by telling you that my History prof opted to push the deadline for the scavenger hunt back to MONDAY . . . happy and sad about that one, ya know . . . heh . . . . . so yeah, I should touch that up . . . like, right now . . .
The swing dance wasn't too bad. A fair amount of people came and stuff, and everyone had fun - I sorta hurt my little toe at some point (still don't know what it was), but that seems to be okay now. Oh, and then I almost didn't get home to catch the 1am showing of Inuyasha - now THAT was scary!
So yeah, I'm feeling a lot better about school right now, seeing as all that evil stuff is more or less over until exam time in April . . . . . . . . aw crap, April's pretty close now . . . . . durnit . . .
But yeah, who knows? Maybe things'll start lookin' up soon? We'll see . . . . .
[EDIT: Things looked up already! I got to chat with Mimmi first-hand, in real-time this morning/last night! Yaha!]

Well . . . . . it's 2:30am, PST . . . . . . . .
After not going to my morning Film discussion class (now I'll never know what Left Handed Gun was "really" about), going to the library, coming home, and sitting at the computer on and off for about 13 hours . . . . . they're done . . . . .
My English paper about marriage in The Canterbury Tales is done . . .
My History Scavenger Hunt where I had to research things to find the answers to 10 questions is done . . .
. . . and yes, they both suck, I'm sure - though one probably sucks much more than the other . . . . .
In any case, I sit here now, listening to the printer do its thing . . . finding it getting a little colder in this basement now . . . feelin' a little hungry . . . . . feelin' REALLY tired . . . . . . . but at least it's all done . . . . .
But yeah, here I sit, it's 5:35am, EST, and I've got class tomorrow. On the plus side, there's also a swing dance tonight too! So, if I'm not online for a while, that's why - that, or Inuyasha. But yes. Me be tired. Oyasuminasaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii....................

In a silly mood . . . . .
Now, I've got schoolwork to do, so I shouldn't screw around too much tonight. So I'll keep it short & sweet . . .
Mimmi's recent recordings of her own voice, in conjunction with an unwatched use of the phrase "beat away," closely followed by the utter confusion of another friend prompted me to record myself in a quick fit of laughter.
Now, this is 4 seconds of my sedate, just-above-chuckle laugh . . . enjoy!

Haha! Success!!!
The other day (Saturday), the comp' was more or less out of commission from running programs, so I couldn't watch any animes nicely. Thus, I was bored and (instead of working on my assignments like I SHOULD have) popped the first "Evangelion" DVD into the PS2. Meanwhile, my younger bro was doing some stuff on his laptop on a TV tray to the side of me . . .
Well, about halfway through the first episode, he finished up whatever he was doing, closed the laptop, and layed down on the couch.
That was about when he started commenting a little bit about the show . . .
"That's a big escalator . . ."
"You can't have fluid in your lungs!"
"Nani! They said nani!" (note the slight knowledge of Japanese/anime simply through diffusion via me)
"Why are they making him pilot it even if he doesn't know how?"
After the episode ended, he did a slightly sarcastic, "aw! To be continued!" thingy. Then it was dinner, and then he had to go to hockey . . . . . I think the comp was done with its programs by then.
WELL, after he got back, smelling like hockey (ew), he was watching something in the other room while I did computer stuff . . . . . a couple hours later, I heard the PS2 get turned on . . . then I heard a familiar ad screen . . . . . at that point . . .
"James, I'm watching the second episode if you want . . ."
Haha! I got him to start watching an episode of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" by his own volition!!! UOSH!!!!!
Now, he fell asleep just as the 4th episode ended, but that was enough. His interest had been snagged.
Today/yesterday/Sunday, before, during and after dinner, we watched the 2nd DVD. This time around:
"Pen-Pen! Pen-squared!"
"But they're only 14!"
[watching Misato drink beer . . .] "Oh my god! She's insane!"
"That guy's a nerd . . ."
"Why's he always crying?"
[upon seeing the "fan service" . . .] "Wha-hat?!"
"Fly Me To The Moon is being sung too soft . . ."
But yeah, before the 8th episode, he was like, "okay, that's it!" Then I was like, "but this one's awesome!" Then he's like, "how long is it?" So I'm like, "20-24 minutes?"
Then we watched it. Heh. Take THAT, FOX television!!!
So yeah, I like to think that I'm doing my part for anime over here on the west coast well enough so far, ne?

So, you think you've seen gory before . . .
Showcase: Scream (a tv channel) was showing George Romero movies. I caught the tail end of the original Night of the Living Dead, which was pretty cool (portrays the first black man to ever star in a horror!), and rather depictive for 1968 (lotsa gut-gunching, ya know). Wild stuff . . . after it ended, then the '80s came rolling along . . . Day of the Dead!
Holy cow . . . you think you've seen movie gore before . . . . . now THAT was some insane gut-munchin'! It's like, you figure they're gonna cut away pretty soon to throw in the "effects" shot . . . . . but no! You're ALREADY watching the effects shot! I'm talking shots of maybe 15-20 seconds of a guy being disembowled by hordes of undead while his head (while still screaming) is slowly torn off! Holy crap! Crazy!
Now I want Resident Evil: Apocalypse to come out quickly . . . . . I'm suddenly in the mood for zombie . . . heehee . . . . .
