   Ouch . . . . .
So Sunday morning, my friend and I were "sparring" at slow speed at practice today. At some point during our unofficial and definitely unauthorized practice, I must've hit or blocked something bad, because my left thumb is sore as hell now. I don't think I sprained it or anything, and I definitely didn't break it . . . but yeah. Painful. May or may not get it checked out - probably not. Ah well . . .

So has everyone gotten their fill of that blasted Frodo song yet? Cause the sooner you do, the sooner Tigress can stop hating me (she REALLY hates that song, ya know! Heeheehee . . . I'm such a bastard, eh?).

Okay, time to plan for the next week (also known as "watch more GTO do-rama"). Peace!

Nananaaaa, nananaaaa, nananaaa, nananaa naa na naaaa . . .
Heh . . . guess what movie I watched today?

Yeah, "SWAT" is pretty cool. As usual, Samuel L Jackson plays the aggressive black man to a T, and Colin Farrell proves that he can still charm the pants off of anyone and everyone. Good fun, especially if you like guns and stuff (so yeah, L.A. SWAT teams use big high-power, low-capacity .45 caliber pistols. Yeah, gotta love DVD special features).

So, um . . . okay, this next bit is important, I think . . . . . .

. . . . . . everyone with broadband, get bittorrent so you can get GTO episodes. This show is the BEST thing you could ever watch in the next little while!

So yes, first off, go here:
http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html
This site'll have everything from the program to information on how it works and stuff.

Once you have that and have installed the .exe file, you go here:
http://drama.afraid.org/japan-tv/active_torrents.html
Once here, you can get the GTO episodes.

Oh, and in case you don't have these yet, you'll need the codec thingies to be able to watch the files. You can get that here:
http://download.divx.com/divx/DivX511Bundle.exe
Once you have this, it should all be good - if it isn't, then I'll post the other thing you'll need too.

Now, should I suddenly find out that I should not have posted these links and could potentially be in a lot of trouble, I'll kill this post. But, until then . . .
YOU ALL NEED TO GET GTO!!!

(Oh, unless partial nudity bothers you. People have porn on in the background sometimes . . . it's rare, but it's there . . . . . yeah, I'm totally gonna get shut down for this . . . . . ja ne!)

   Week One: locked and shipped!
I forgot how tiring school can be sometimes . . . had to nap for an hour in between classes today. Ah well . . .

So let's see . . . what's new on my side of the world . . . . . hmm . . . . .

Okay, first off, didn't buy the boots that day. I figured the snows more or less melted off, so I'll be able to make do with what I have. Of course, once I got home, I realised how old and beat up my current boots are . . . so yeah, I guess I'll end up buying those things next week after all . . .

So instead of buying boots, I bought the RotK soundtrack and an Evangelion DVD.
And so beings my plan: here on, every month, I shall make myself buy a new Evangelion DVD until I have the whole series. I won't have a pretty box for all of them, but hey, if they're already about $30 a disk, I think I can live with that. So yeah, I shall soon finally own Eva! Yayfulness!

So yeah, that's me for now. Waking up earlier, falling asleep quicker during the day when I shouldn't, and still spending too much time in front of the TV and stuff. I missing anything? I forget . . .

   Back by Popular Demand . . . . . CANADIANA: Part 3!!!
That's right, since someone felt it necessary to say I suck (I'm paraphrasing, of course) because I haven't done this in a while, Professor SomeGuy is back with some more fun facts from above the 49th!

Belief: Canadians don't kill each other.
Fact: Well, we certainly don't kill each other as often as some others do . . . and indeed, Michael Moore's statistics in "Bowling for Columbine" are probably more or less correct . . . but keep in mind, that number was only for fatal shootings. As the famous saying goes, "there's more than one way to skin a cat . . ." Ahem . . . but yeah, I'm in a big city, so murders and stuff do happen. Sorry to burst that bubble.

Belief: Canadian beer is like moonshine!
Fact: It's true, Canadian beer does have a higher alcohol percentage than American beer . . . but JUST BARELY! According to research done by Will and Ian Ferguson (just two brothers who once wrote a book), Canadian and American brewing companies measure their alcohol content differently, so the percentages don't measure up the same . . . as for which tastes better, well . . . . . . hey! Next question!

Belief: Canadians end all their sentences with "eh?".
Fact: I don't think Canadians even think of using this until they're old enough to learn that there is in fact this stereotype. At least, such was the case for me. It's like, you learn that this thing'll make you more Canadianish, so therefore, you start using it proudly . . . if not for anything else but to get that funny giddyness you feel inside when you know you shouldn't be doing what you're doing. It's quite lot of fun to promote these misconceptions, eh?

Belief: Life for Canadians is nothing but hockey and its worship thereof.
Fact: . . . . . . . . . . . well, can't argue with that one, can I? Heehee . . . . .

I'll be sure to get back into my old ways soon enough, everyone. More Canadiana, more Street Philosophy . . . look forward to it now, minna-san!

   Trench Foot Averted!
Okay, I'm buying new boots tomorrow/today! No way around it! This is ridiculous at how miserable my feet were! When I got home and took my socks off, my feet were wrinkled from being in water for so long! It was creepy!

Eheh . . . but yes, feeling much better now. And how are you all?
(Yeah, I had nothing today . . . gomen ne . . .)

   At School And Miserable . . . . .
(This post courtesy of the Mac Lab in the Buchanan Building of the University of British Columbia . . . . .)

Well . . . it's 12:00pm right now . . . . . my feet have been soaked since about 8:30-ish . . . . . quite miserable, yes . . . . . . . think it's about time I invest in some new WATERPROOF footwear . . . . . guh . . .

So how is everyone else's day today? I hope everyone is well and that the winter hasn't wrecked things too heavily for you all yet. Today things have actually warmed up a bit! This morning we had a fine mist instead of light snowfall. So yes, the snows will probably melt a touch in the next little while . . . leaving tiny, slushie little duck ponds all over the place! Disasteriffic, no?

Eheh . . . yesterday it was fear of frostbite - today it is fear of trench foot. Everyone have a good day while you can now, 'cause I'm gonna have some awesome gripes for tonight, I bet! Heehee!

   Partial Snow day . . . . .
Today was very cold . . . very cold . . . . . wet feet and below-freezing temperatures . . . . . the trains had weather issues . . . . .

Yeah, I went to school early, got there late . . . and around noon they decided to close the university down. Coming home SUCKED!!! Took about 2.5 times longer than it should have and it was cold! Really really cold! People were antifreezing the doors to the trains at the stations now and then! THAT is how cold it was! Brr, people! Brr! Heh . . . . . yeah, I spent most of the ride with my arms crossed, muttering "this could be much worse" over and over . . . . . well, it definitely could have been much worse . . . though to be fair, it was still nevertheless pretty bad.

On another note, a funny thought hit me: you know how people complain about people that work for the city and stuff, citing things to them like "my taxes pay your wages!" and stuff? I'm just thinking . . . . . what, do they think these people don't have to pay taxes or something?
Ahh, such is the fun of free speech . . .

After this week, things'll probably be back to normal for me. Yayfulness!

   Cold . . . very cold . . . . . this brings me back . . . . .
So, I totally grabbed the wrong jacket when I left my house for school today . . .

It's evening and about -5 degrees right now not including windchill! It's cold outside! And yet, I can't complain too much, because I know I brought it upon myself with all my wishes for a white Christmas . . . which it was TOO LATE for, mind you! Oh well . . . yeah, so I'm cold, hungry, and tired . . .

. . . . . I am definitely back to school.

And, in other news, you guys hear about this Christopher Paolini dude? He's the 19 year old writer from Montana whose first book Eragon debuted on the New York Times Bestseller list. Kinda makes me go, "wow, that kind of stuff really CAN happen!" At the same time it also makes me go, "what are you waiting for, dude?!" Heh . . . . . someone read this and tell me how it is, okay? I don't think I'm gonna have time for it anytime soon . . .

"Back to school, back to school . . ."
" . . to prove to dad that I'm not a fool . . . I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight . . . ohhh, back to school . . . . ."

I noticed something really interesting about my schedule this semester: Monday/Wednesday/Friday, my schedule goes "one hour class, one hour break, one hour class, one hour break" throughout the whole day until I'm done at 4! How weird is that?!

Yeah, back to school time . . . time to try harder this semester . . . . . time to start posting and reading more . . . . . good fun!

And, while on the subject of fun . . . it seems that Ms. Tigress, our friend, is having much on behalf of her sugar high. Though I've already stated this to you, I laughed excruciatingly hard upon "Beck wants to know if you're a metrosexual." Of course, the resulting "Dude what are you doing??? Shut up!!!" sequence was well worth it. Thank you girls - all of ya - you made my Sunday.

As pertains to the real matter, though . . .
Aside from a pocket watch, I have a strict "no bells and/or whistles" policy regarding my being; no jewelry, no piercings . . . hell, I don't even use gel on my hair! That's about 10-15 minutes in the bathroom in the morning, including EVERYTHING in there. My shirts are all single-colour T's from Zellers, Sears . . . maybe a couple from Old Navy, but that's it. On my feet I wear "normal" socks, Airwalks, or my brown leather hiking boots. I take pride in my low tenor voice and thusly only sing songs in that range . . . unless I'm being funny. So no, I lack neither the personality nor the money required to be metro.

Though if I did, I'm sure I would be fine with that . . . but I'm not . . . I'm just sayin' . . . . . and honestly, I NEVER expected I'd have to explain THIS one in my life, ever. Very interesting, people, very interesting . . .

   A Funny Thought . . . . .
I'm more active on mO when school is actually going . . . what's up with that?

Come this week, I'll be back in the swing of things, I promise. Then I'll be around at everyone's pages and stuff. And then life will be good . . . . .

Oh yeah, I watched Return of the King again last night. Didn't get out of the theater until about 2:10am. What fun . . .
