More shameless J-drama plugging . . . . .
I've got nothing better to talk about right now, so I'm just gonna re-remind everyone with BitTorrent capability: you all need to watch GTO and Shinsengumi!
GTO:
Sorimachi Takashi plays the title character based on the manga of the same name. Don't know who he is? Look up, where my avi is - yeah, that guy. The rude pointing guy. Anyway, Onizuka Eikichi is a former delinquent biker gang leader who got to become a teacher. So, he was given the worst class of them all . . . and he's gotta show that all these troublemaking kids are alright! Will he do it? Will the school force him to resign? Will you continue to smile and grin and cry as he works his incredible magic?! Well . . . you're just gonna hafta check it out the power of the Great Teacher Onizuka for yourself, won't ya?
(Maybe 2-3 episodes involve HIGHLY brief nudity, but I'm sure it won't have been anything you haven't already seen before. Otherwise, it's clean and sweet)

Shinsengumi!:
See the humble beginnings of one of history's most romanticized groups! The black ships have come to Japan, and differing opinions are tearing the country apart! What's an adopted farmer from Tama to do? Hehe . . . kicking off with the now famous Ikeda Inn incident, the series backs up to when chief Kondou Isami was known as "Kat-chan", when "The Devil of the Shinsengumi" was a womanizer, and when a young Okita Soujiro was prepubescent. From there you get to see all your favourite historical figures like Harada Sanosuke, Nagakura Shinpachi, and Saito Hajime . . . . . no psychotic piglets this time around, though. This is some good Taiga drama, people!
(Samurai show. People die sometimes. Not too messy, though.)

If you ever need seeding for Shinsengumi, just give me a head's up, 'kay? 'Til then, do give these shows a shot - I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
