Well, today was interesting . . .
Again, wasted most of my time which could have been used for writing papers or studying. Meh.
Still wishing I could save the world, that's expected.
Spent a little time thinking about what I needed to get certain people for Christmas and how best to get it to them.
Spent a fair deal of time on the phone talking with a pretty neat person. She denies that she was interesting, but I enjoyed every second of it. She had a nice voice, after all.
In national news, Canada's supreme court gave constitutional clearance in favour of same-sex marriages nationwide. The actual bit of legislation is still in the works, but yeah, things are lookin' pretty okay up here . . . if my stance on this wasn't clear enough, I'll give a quick story about when I was reading the paper:
The Premier of Alberta Ralph Klein is dead set against it. However, this sort of ruling is a federal one, and the provinces only handle the performance of the ceremonies. Likewise, since only the Federal government can use Canada's "notwithstanding clause" to overrule Supreme Court rulings, Mr. Klein can't do a damn thing about it. As I read that part, I chuckled and my faith in our system boosted a little bit. Hehe . . . Silly premier, marriages are for everyone!
