T'was The Day Before Christmas . . . . .
T'was the day before Christmas,
Which started at eight,
And already I knew,
It started too late.
There was no time for breakfast,
Or coffee or tea,
Lest my dear supervisor
Be upset with me.
With barely a shower,
I flew out the door,
Put key in ignition,
and pedal to floor.
In a half an hour later,
I started my shift,
And I got to my boxes
Of lightbulbs to lift.
So for most of the morning,
I worked out my stock,
And while famished and tired,
I spied on the clock.
Something funny then happened,
'tween shovel and me,
The tool fell onto my head,
Just like on TV!
It hurt just a little,
And I cried no tears,
And soon I was better,
Though hunger still sears.
The hours took their time
Until 1 did arrive,
To free me for lunch
So that I might survive.
It soon after turned 2,
To work I returned,
But now things were boring,
As I soon then learned.
The new girl in my section,
She finished her duties,
She was all bored to hell,
Like old, stale cookies.
For hours we bummed about,
Not doing much,
'Til finally 6 came about,
Happy as such.
So quickly I rushed to home,
Thru cold and showers,
Bought gas for the Imprezza,
Giving it powers.
The home was quite cozy,
With family rested,
I got myself washed up,
Went downstairs and nested.
I would have come online next,
But brother waylaid me,
He said, "come, watch 'Bad Santa,'
I say it's quite funny!"
So instead down I sat,
With my dinner in front,
And watched Thornton play jerk,
Being forward and blunt.
T'was a rather fun movie,
Good fun was all had,
(Though if you're not old enough,
To watch would be bad.)
After movie I went upstairs
Into my room,
And I wrapped two last presents
like children in womb.
And thus now here I sit,
While in front of this screen,
Rhyming hard as I can,
Trying best to be keen.
But what can I say,
It all has been said,
This is a fun eve
Before rising from bed.
So now if you may,
Allow me this bit,
To say a few words
That to all you just fit . . .
To my Canada friends,
Alberta beyond,
I wish you much goodness,
In our country fond.
And now I'll get corny,
So bear if you may,
For stereotype:
Merry Christmas, Eh!
A prop to my neighbours,
Below the four-nine,
You've all become wonderful
People of mine.
From the east and the west,
I wish you all cheer,
And for 21-over,
I'll buy your first beer.
In the Pacific I know,
a few others as well,
I wish all of you laughter,
And some joy they can't sell.
Especially one girl,
Who's feeling all bad,
Hawk, if you read this,
Try not to feel sad.
Things will get all better,
I hope and I trust,
But 'til that all happens,
Hang in there, you must . . .
The other sea brings others,
From Isle and Mainland,
I've forgotten not you peeps,
Who all deserve a hand.
"Vrolijk Kerstfeest",
"God Jul" and much more,
Have a wonderful Christmas,
And all that's in store.
So I think that shall cover
My continents all,
Thus I could quit this now
'Fore apart it might fall . . .
But no, I've one more wish,
That here I must show,
For those who all know me,
You'll know where I'll go.
While we play through this day,
There is one who still works,
It sucks, it's not fair,
And it's all for few perks.
When you leave from the lab,
I shall wait right here,
And again I'll wish to you,
Some holiday cheer.
So take care, my lady,
Rest up and lie down,
The best gift of all
is your face without frown . . .
With all of that said,
I'd best take my leave,
It's been past an hour,
Since at this I heaved.
I feel that today
Should be nice for us all,
With our friends an our family
We'll all have a ball!
To all my anime comrades,
May you enjoy this day!
Enjoy a suteki Kurisumasu,
And have some fun, ne?
. . . okay, technically it was a long-handled ice scraper, not a shovel . . . it was still funny . . . . . but yes . . .
Minna-san, Merii Kurisumasu!!!
