Mid-day post . . . how out of character, ne?
Yeah, I'm not sure why I haven't been here the past few days. Probably being lazy again or somethin' . . . anyway, where to begin . . .
Alright, the performance last Saturday went really smoothly, which was great. We did our 5-lion thing on the stage, then the kids went on stage to perform their kung-fu. We, meanwhile, broke up into two separate lion+drum teams to start walking around the mall to do Choy Chang at all the stores (wrongly translated, it basically means "lettuce destruction"). Granted, this mall doesn't like stores using actual leafy vegetables since they're afraid people might slip on the pieces, but meh . . .
So yeah, with the splitting up into two teams, we essentially had two skeleton crews of lion dancers and musicians to handle the rest. That said, I was basically playing cymbals the entire time - I survived, though. Anyway, after it was done, my lower back on the right side was kinda stinging (and it still kinda is, I suppose); either from all the cymbal playing, or from when I went into the tail of the lion for a couple rounds without stretching (BAD idea!).
Next Saturday'll be even bigger. By then I hope I'll be able to snag some pictures of the performances for you guys.
Let's see, what else, what else . . . umm . . . . . . at school, I might need to start thinking about term papers again (eep). A couple I have good ideas for, another . . . ehhh, not so good. But we'll see.
In J-dorama news . . . . . Toudou Heisuke bought it! Man, you know a historical drama series is gonna end soon when all the main characters start getting cut up . . . so to reiterate: NHK's Shinsengumi! is a friggin' awesome show!
Other than that, not too much else I really need to say here. Everyone, take care of yourselves and others; valere iubeo.
