Ano . . . let's talk about movies!
I've some bad news, I think . . . this morning, my History midterm . . . yeah, not good. I didn't even finish, it was pretty bad. I dunno, it wasn't even that I didn't really know the stuff - I just took too damn long . . . . . . ick. Yeah, after I wrote what I could, we were all told to hand in, I just went up to my prof, told him, "I'll do better in April [for the final] . . ." I think the best part of that, though, was that he said "thank you" for the test though he instinctively wanted to say "it's okay" . . . yeah, today I suck . . . . . so let's talk about happy stuff!
In other news, Fulltime Killer is a pretty rockin' Hong Kong flick. Great action, enjoyable characters, plus the fact that the movie is spoken in FOUR different languages/dialects that I respond to my mother with at home (she doesn't understand it when I speak Japanese, though) . . . it made for some good fun movie-watchin'.
Along with that, I also watched Lost in Translation, which my brother rented. Now, he didn't like it and his girlfriend found it boring at times . . . it's to be expected. It's a pretty artsy-ish movie, so not everyone's gonna like it (daughter of Francis Ford Coppola, go fig, eh?). Me, personally, in that I actually understood a fair deal of Japanese along with Tokyo pop culture to an extent (gotta love the anime for that), I found the film to be pretty sweet and enjoyable . . . needless to say, whenever I buy DVDs, I'm usually the only one who'll watch them.
So let's see . . . what else did I watch yesterday instead of study . . . . . oh yeah! King of Comedy! Erm . . . at least I think that's what it was called . . . . . in any case, another Hong Kong film, starring Stephen Chow (he was in Shaolin Soccer [which ALL of you should watch as well!]). It didn't have subtitles, so I actually had to work especially hard to figure out what they were talking about (blasted loss of second language . . .). Nevertheless, a funny, funny movie with some really clever jokes in between the slapstick . . .
I ever tell ya I love my Hong Kong movies? Heh . . . . .
I still have to watch Battle Royale 2, which may or may not suck. I've heard very few good things about it, but ya know, I enjoyed the first one, so who knows? I'm sure I'll find something redeeming about it - I'm like that with movies, ya know . . . I like 'em when they're bad just as much as when they're good!
(And now, if you shall excuse me, I'm going to get cheeky . . .)
Oh, so did ya hear? I heard a woman died while watching The Passion of The Christ!
Heh . . . so many people have been telling me this tidbit of information for all of the past two days - I'm serious, this is getting worse than Janet's boobie! But, we'll see what happens . . .
Alright, so I'm posting at a weird time. That's because I'm at school right now - there's a social swing dance at 7pm, so I'm just waitin' for it. And then after that, my idiot friend "Legolas" wants to go get cheap chicken wings out far away . . . I may or may not make it back for Inuyasha tonight . . . . . kusu . . .
Alright, I'm done. Ja matte ne!
