   It's always sunny here!
Hello from Central Standard Time! It is currently about 11:30am, I had just woken up about an hour ago, and I've decided to commandeer milady's computer for a quick visit while she makes her house extra respectable for a bunch of people coming over tonight (from what I understand).

So here's a short list of things that have happened or that I've experienced since leaving YVR in Vancouver . . .

  • Seeing as I didn't sleep that first night and instead opted to watch "Gundam Seed", I was quite tired all day.
  • Slept very soundly on the plane from Vancouver to Denver, sitting between a fidgety Indian guy and a large white guy who was very interested in the in-plane magazines.
  • Denver International was huge, though I didn't see any of it. There were also little birds flying around the upper areas of the terminal. The world is quite flat here.
  • I called Molly from Denver. We were all very excited.
  • The world is also quite flat in Wichita . . . while on the subject of . . .
  • The Wichita airport has a very reddish, earthen tone to its indoor colours, at least in the terminals. When I first got off the plane and walked out, I saw deep red brick walls, country music playing on the radio, and I saw a woman speaking on a payphone wearing overalls. My introduction to Kansas could not have been better. I love it.
  • Molly AND Duo picked me up from the airport. I had teddy bears and Pocky for them. Seems everyone loves the chocolate mousse kind . . .
  • Went to church for Ash Wednesday with them. It was the first time I had gone to mass in quite a few years. I kept up with everyone for the most part . . . then they started singing in Latin, which totally blew me away. Nice church, too . . . oh, by the way, seems people in Vancouver say "amen" differently from people in Wichita. Just sayin' . . .
  • Had breakfast/dinner with Duo afterwards, and then we proceeded to Super Target and some book store with a lot of manga. I didn't buy anything, though now I kinda wish I did. Y'know, just because.
  • Went drinking with Molly, Jordan, and a couple of their friends. Had beer, played pool, it was a good relaxing night.
  • Jordan wants to sharpen the swords I got them as a wedding present. Oh yeah, now that they've opened it, I can tell you that I got them a katana-wakizashi-tanto set as a wedding gift (getting another toaster would be silly, I figured). The other friends I mentioned above wondered about how good of an idea it was for me to give newlyweds killing-type things . .. but Molly and Jordan seem quite taken with them, so it's all good.
  • Went to Applebees on Thursday. That sandwich was huge . . .
  • Went to the Sedgewick County Zoo (I think that's the county) after lunch. That zoo was huge . . . . . and then a chimpanzee swung himself back and forth, let go, slammed into the glass directly in front of me (probably on purpose), and then proceeded to methodically eat a piece of crap as we watched in horror (seriously, I think he was just doing it to freak us all out).
  • All this time, I have constantly forgotten to bring my camera . . . d'oh.
  • Chatted with other peoples on MSN with Molly. We were thus dubbed "Jamolly". I was curious to figure out if people knew who was who as we typed. They probably did . ..
  • I watched Adult Swim for the first time in my life last night! I have thus confirmed that I am indeed missing out.
  • Checked my mail this morning. My prof e-mailed me back a while ago, saying he actually extended the due date of that short essay 'til Monday . . . . . not sure how I feel about that now, seeing as I didn't sleep for like, 40 hours that day/night/day . . . meh.
  • For the record, Wichita's weather has been rather inconsistent. Really hot on Wednesday, cold then nice yesterday, and today. . . I don't know yet. It's been really really really sunny, though, which has thrown me off a lot. Yeah, pretty nice little city, here.

Methinks it's time to go check on bride-to-be (Saturday's gonna be nuts - Molly spent like, $280 on wedding liquor last night and that doesn't include the keg!). She might need help in the cleaning up type stuff - I'd feel bad to do nothing anyway. Peace out, have a good weekend!

Random SomeGuy Trivia: Whether intentionally or not (probably intentionally), I've been picking up the American Midwestern accent a little. Probably just for this weekend. Still, I'm afraid I'm gonna insult someone if it gets too out of hand . . .
