It is much too late to be posting . . .
I work in less than seven hours and I'm still awake. Tsk tsk . . .
Not completely my fault. It's quite time-consuming playing a board game against yourself - what should have only taken two hours ended up taking . . . I dunno, about twice as long?
To be fair, I also had "Lois & Clark" playing on the TV front of me as well (SUCH a great show . . .), but that's besides the point . . .
I'll quickly explain that bit: I few days back I bought "Axis & Allies: D-Day". Neat addition to the series, a little more tactical than strategic compared to the ones before it, and I think it's pretty neat. However, the night we played it, "Faramir" started agitating me with his "this game has no strategy to it whatsoever" and "the whole game is based on luck" and "I've got it figured out and there's no way this could have worked any other way." I was quick to rebut him, but he was repeating himself too much to care. Man . . . he knew he was being annoying, he knew most likely he was just riling me up more than making a point (which was wrong, might I add) . . . . .
. . . so yeah, I played it again tonight to try out some new ideas. As it turned out, the plans actually work quite well . . . heh, the dice rolls were just really bad for one area of it.
. . . but don't get me wrong, strategically the Allies' loss was more of a loss of time compared to the all-out splattering they took the other night. On a luckier dice day, that game could have gone either way in those last turns . . . . .
So yeah, I'm somewhat trying to get back into war-gaming. It happens.
And if all of that went over all your heads, here's a picture of me with my next door neighbours whom 'Beck has indirectly met.
Five and three years old. Cute, huh?
Alright, bedtime. See ya.
