listening to: penicillin - syuufukufukanou
feeling: bored
So I'm not procrastinating... as much. There are still times I need to be hit in the head with something big and heavy (like the Penn High yearbook... xD), but at least I've started to read a consistent amount on my summer reading. The only thing I'm kind of worried about is the essay for each book. Those topics are hard~~~~ Haha... I'll probably be failing the class by the time the first week of school comes around. xD;
Yesterday night I went to my aunt and uncle's new house to celebrate my dad's birthday. It was a really nice house~~ 3 bed/3 bath... really spacious... The main bathroom was bigger than me and my sister's bedroom We stayed out kind of late, so I was really tired today. I woke up at like 8:30 xD;;;
My friends Leslie and Amanda found out about Ginta #1... aka David. Leslie is like "Awwwww... He so likes you~" and Amanda is all scared that I'm going to get a boyfriend or something like that. Which I'm not. But she just thinks that I'm "growing up too fast" or what not. Which is understandable. I still kind of feel like I'm too young to have guys like me and to like people and to be comparing my life to someone like Miki. Gahhhh at least Miki was pretty. xD
Ohhh I know what I can do. This will probably work too. I'll just escape the Marmalade Boy plot by making it... The Wallflower. >D If I end up telling Yuu that I like him.... Then all he has to do is say "I hate ugly girls" and then I can become Sunako-chan. Bernie already calls me that so it will work out perfectly. And then I can be like.. afraid of dating and afraid of the light and lock myself up into my room and watch horror movies all day or something like that... Hm. This could be interesting.
But it's still a shoujo manga though... and Sunako-chan *does* end up having all those hot guys around her all the time... and she gets kissed.... And Yuki would be like... "Ok. The four guys that are always with Sunako-chan are going to be Brad and David and Josh and Brian.. even though Brian rejected you" XDDDDDDDDd
Ok never mind about that then... Forget the Wallflower. Although if I *do* tell him that I like him and he *does* say the exact phrase "I hate ugly girls" that will be such a coincidence... and really funny too... well maybe not for me. But even if it isn't I'd have to admit it's quite interesting. And not to mention that Bernie will have even more reason to call me Sunako-chan than before... xD;;
But yeah... anyway.....
I can't wait until I get back into school. Only 48 days left. There are a few projects that everyone has been talking about that we'll have to do in our sophomore year:
-The Novel. Everyone has been dreading this project. Our English teacher apparently gives us a few weeks or something and we have to write a novel that's at least 100 pages long and follows the format of the one website she gives us as a resource. Apparently it's in the form of "Hero-Journey" type of genre. And I heard that she doesn't even read it. Even though she says that she gets all of her literature circle friends to read and grade together... I heard that she'll offer extra credit to students who grade it. I'm not sure I'm looking forward to it, but maybe I can just develop a manga story and make it follow those stages or what not xD
-The History Project. It's almost like the science fair, except a research report about history. The theme is to be determined and we have to pick an event related to the theme and write a report about it. After that, we make something about our topic: a skit, a written report, a website, a display board, etc. And there's a word limit. Only 500 words in the entire thing... which might be kind of hard. But whatever. Most people work in pairs, although we are allowed to work alone or in a group of 3. According to the upperclassmen, it's kind of easy and could be fun, as long as you don't procrastinate.
-The Science Fair. We all know about the science fair from last year, which is why we all don't want to do it XD;;; I heard they grade harder and are more strict about the topics you're allowed to use.
-IDP. According to some upperclassmen, out of all the IDP projects we get at CAMS, this is the best one. It's in the form of a debate, so your group of 10 gets some controversial issue like cloning or abortion. 5 of you get the "for" side, and 5 of you get the "against" side. And you have to plan a debate that you'll present to your grade. The goal is not to actually win the debate; it's to come to a stalemate, or tie. So you have to work with the people who are debating against you in order to come up with good arguments or what not. I heard that if you use the wrong sources in your bibliography, then you get points taken off... The one good thing is that it's the last 2 weeks of school... and all of your core classes end early. So instead of having homework or whatever... you just work on IDP. As with everything, as long as you don't procrastinate, you should be fine.
That's about all I can think of. I haven't really heard anything else about sophomore year.
