Ubuntu - Well, I just remembered earlier today that in the midst of running out of space on the 40GB partition (and freeing a few gigs of space,) that I have a linux operating system (distrobution) laying dormant and unused. The reasons why it wasn't used pertaining to sound drivers (that I plan to figure out later,) I decided to throw caution to the wind, and w/ help from Dustin, successfully reinstalled Ubuntu 5.04, "The Hoary Hedgehog" distribution, AND overcame my problem with it, which was mounting (then AUTOMOUNTING) my FAT32 and NTFS's filesystems! So I'm a pretty happy Linux user. . . .at the moment. . .and no, I'm not going to use Linux entirely over Windows, its just too popular and I run alot of critical applications. Now, I was VERY impressed with the fact that Ubuntu INSTANTLY detected mom's Windows 98 PC on the network, so that's pretty awesome, and the fact that it runs 2 to 3 times more efficient then Windows XP does on the same system. Mac - I read a really interesting article about Mac suing some of their fansites for "predicting" some of the Mac products to some (that have come out) and are demanding the names of the people who have been leaking information. I think its outrageous that they're doing that to THEIR FANS . . .the people who support their products, just because they're announcing products to come, I mean that's the best FREE media attention to have to the perfect audience. I myself predict that Mac's not going to have a very good financial future unless they fix things like that up. Another good indication that they're not doing well is the fact that there's a rumor going around that they're going to modify their proprietary hardware/software to run on Intel architecture instead of the IBM PowerPC processors. That's going to cause them to lose alot of hardcore Mac customers. . . .on the other hand, it may make it possible for them to drop their prices and draw in a new flavor of customers who are willing to try out the Mac. I've never had a problem w/ Mac myself, but when I do eventually get one, I'd like it to be the more efficient PowerPC architecture over the lameo Intel architecture. . . . You - I also read that studies say that IQ ratings are going UP, instead of down like people have predicted due to the growing population playing video games and enjoying digital media in their spare time. . . . .ummmm my opinion . . . . IN YO FACE, YA B*STARDS!!!! That is all LOL!
