   And the last horse finally crosses the finish line
I am finished. I was working on a tutorial that was suppost to make me more comfortable with the tablet. After putting all your great advice to work and completing the tutorial I was able to make my "Summertime" picture. If you want to check it out I think it should be on my fanart pretty soon. Thanks again everyone for the advice and support. I am so relieved to finally be done with a piece done with the tablet!

   Ugh, but there is some hope
So I know that everyone at one point or another has had a rant like this but I guess its just my turn. You know what I hate. . . flamers as I think they are called. People who vote your work down because they are trying to get ahead. People are more than welcome to vote me down but I really would love a comment why. We are all trying to improve on our work and without constructive critisism then there is no where to go. Arg. But I think I am done ranting about it. For those of you who helped me with my tablet/painter problems, thank you so much! I have made some pretty good progress and I have a piece I might get out this weekend to show you what I was able to accomplish with your advice. I hope everyone has a great day today and for those of you who are Smallville adicts like me tonight is the 100TH EPISODE. Its going to be HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait.

   Painter, Tablet, and 200%, UGH, I am so frustrated!
This weekend I picked up a 12in by 9in Wacom tablet for some illustrating. Also I bought Painter 9 which is a pretty powerful graphic design program. What does all this awesome new stuff equal? I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HECK I AM DOING. I got a tutorial on how to use all the programs and tools together to create a great looking product. But it really isn't working. The tips said to make your picture twice the size you want it so when its done you can shrink it and your errors. I am finding it pretty hard to work with something that is 2000x1400 pixels. Also I am soooo bad with the tablet. The pen is all over the place and I can't draw a straight line for the life of me. So pretty much all I have right now is another photoshop aided lineart with base color. I can't really shade it, can't add background, and can't shrink it until I am done with it. UGH learning new stuff can be so frustrating. And because of all this trial and error I didn't finish my Bebop Redemption shots for the next chapter coming out. So I guess (in the voice of John Walsh the Unsolved Mysteries guy) If you have any information about Wacom Tablets or Painter 9 please send your responces to the space cowboy via Otaku's Website.    Inking all over and some confusing messages
Hello everyone. I have to say that after christmas breaks explotion of artwork for me I just can't seem to stop when given the opportunity again. I was able to complete two pieces this time durring our three day weekend. As you might have seen the Edward Elric piece but as of late late last night I inked a quick portrait of Riza Hawkeye with her hair down. Check them both out if your interested.

I noticed that there was some maintenance work done on the servers here at the Otaku (or at least that is what I assume). Profiles and pictures weren't available for a brief time. I have to say that if they were updating their server they did it in a timely fashion and I give them Kudos. Things still seem a little slow but I am sure it will pass in time. I think only someone like me who spends so much time here would notice.

   I don't know what to put here
So its been a while since I've updated because of school and work and all that. Let me just say to all you college students out there cramming a weeks worth of work and classes into 4 days so you can have a three day weekend every weekend is a BAD idea. Anyway in light of the Full Metal Alchemist movie being out and that fact that I have never "officially" done a Full Metal Alchemist picture I decided that I would draw Edward. I'm not going to lie this piece did take some time for me but I am pleased with how it turned out. But of course I hit A huge Metal Block and I can not for the life of me think of a good background for it! Ugh, well if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. I tried a few and they don't work at all. I hope its accepted soon. Check it out if your interested!

Side Note: WHAT THE HECK IS WITH THE FIRE TRUCK THING. Scares the crap out of me everytime.

   More Inking Practice for me
This is my last free day on Christmas break. Its sad, Over this particualar break I was able to make 3 new desktops and 3 little inking pieces. Thats more than I've ever done with in a month before. It was an art explotion and it was so fun. But tomorrow I return back to work, school, hockey, and maybe having a social life. For my last piece of this wonder winter explotion of art, I made a little inking piece with Naru from Love Hina, I've never seen the show but oh well. She's a cutie. But thats about it for me, everyone have a great rest of your break, enjoy the cold or warm weather and I wish you all pleasant transitions back into your work/school routines.

   Inking is wonderful when don't spill on the carpet (sorry mom)
So a merry christmas to everyone again, I got something that I really wanted this year. It's a light table. Finally I can try a process of drawing called inking. You draw as your normally would then using the light table, trace over your work making it very clean and smooth. I gave it a try today for the first time. I submitted an Evangelion piece I whipped up for practice. The lines aren't as crisp as my usual work in the computer but it saved me loads of time and it was tons of fun too. It should be submitted soon if you want to check it out. Its a pretty classic pose of Asuka.

On another goofie note. I am 4 chapters away from finishing Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Please don't bring it up in any place that others can read your comments but if you want to private message me about the end I would be so excited to discuss it with anyone. Just be sure to title your comments with "Harry Potter" in it. I may not get to them right away because I still have to finish the book. I am so excited. Hope everyone had a great day!
