Request Updates and things for the future.
Well good morning to all. At least its morning here. This post is really for me more than anyone else. I like to lay out all the requests I've taken on so I know what I have to do. As usual I ask patience of all my fellow requesters. My art takes a while to digitize blah blah blah. So thanks in advance. On an other note I have school starting soon. These next two weeks are going to be pretty insane for me. At least my job will go from full time to part time!!! Thank god I'm very tired of the 8-5 swing.
Well here's what I got, if I forgot you tell me right away please.
Art Trades for:
TsuNekoChan
Samsam-aka-sam
Ace Gallagher
Requests for:
FullMoonWolf98
Kaijin Kinuma
Jyuubi

Tagged, and Supergirl
Weird wild weekend. Did some traveling, did some moving and did some bonding. I say weekend because I have to go back to work tomorrow so its like a long weekend for me. I worked on a new picture. Not anime related but if you want to see it I'll have it up at my Deviant Art Account. Its of Supergirl. I tried to emulate the Micheal Turner style but like most things I ended up adopting what I know, which is what I usually do. You can see it here.
The rules are:
1. Post these rules.
2. Each person tagged must post 8 random facts about themselves.
3. Tags should write a journal/ blog of these facts.
4. At the end of the post 8 more people are tagged and named.
5. Go to their page and leave a comment telling them they're tagged.
My Answers
1. I work at a University.
2. I've played competitive Hockey for 14 years.
3. I am a web developer.
4. I have a half brother who lives on the otherside of the country.
5. I went to Japan last year to visit my friends who lived there for a year.
6. I eat raw radishes because they rock!
7. I really want to host the meet and great for the Otaku.com at Sakura Con this year.
8. I took three days this summer and watched all the season of Scrubs from start to finish.
I'm going to forgo the tagging of other people because I know that is going around tons. Sorry I haven't checked out peoples sites lately but I'll be checking them out tomorrow. Night

Trifecta of Art in a Twice long weekend!
Well I got lucky this weeked . . . (Whoa Eric this is a anime community not a dirty blog post!). I know I don't mean it like that. My boss gave me last friday and yesterday off so I enjoyed a four day weekend. It was amazing! All I did was sit around and try out new stuff for art. The results of my efforts will be posted below.
The first piece is of Sakura in my anime/realism style I so often talk about. It was like something clicked in my head and my understanding of what I wanted and how I wanted it to look were at peace with eachother and even though the piece took over 20 hours to do it felt effortless.
Next is a blend of digital inking and cell shading. Its of Mikuru Asahina from Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I really like this character. In fact I have her sitting on my desk at home. (just a pvc figurine, I didn't clone an anime character and try to bring her to life using transfiguration or anything).
Finally I downloaded some new brushes for Photoshop and thought I would give them a shot. I drew a Bleach piece that I saw on the internet. Its ok, just looks old to me because its my old old OLD style back when I didn't know what I was doing in Photoshop, but its quick only 3 hours so I did that last night.
If you have time please check out my new stuff below. I want to thank everyone in the community here for your continued support of my work. It really means the world to me which is why I love this community so much. Thanks again.

Two weeks of Hell and Hinata
No Hinata had nothing to do with my two weeks of Hell. I have many different titles at my job and one of them is coordinator. I work for a University in the new student department and we had our welcoming program for them these last two weeks. Because of the program I ended up working about 70 hours a week. I am SO TIRED.
More than anything I am sad that I haven't had time for art. I am still waiting on the requests that our winners won from the contest. So to kill some time I threw together a Hinata (sexy) pic for Samsam-aka-sam's Sexy Naruto Contest. I just came across the contest in the Fan art section and thought I would give it a try. Seems that "sexy" is something that I'm good at. Any way I am exhausted and can barely keep my eyes open. If you have time check out the Hinata pic below. Until then . . . I'll be sleeping as much as I can before work at 8am. Night all

Haruhi
Just a quick update. I am working 70 hours this week for a work program we have going on. I have 3 hours of spare time and threw this together. I love Haruhi Suzumiya even if she is the most self centered . . . Anyway Winners of the contest don't forget to message me your requests.

Contest Results!
Well I want to thank everyone again for such a great contest. You've all really made my first contest a great experience for me. I have been contacted by our guest judge and he and I have worked out the results of the contest. I am going to put everyone's place and the critique that Grifter99 and I put together below. Thanks again and congradulations to the winners. Remember 1st place get a no holds bar request from me I will draw what ever they want colored and complete. Second place gets line art drawn of any character they want. So without further delay:
First Place: Ms.Random! This piece has a unique blend of soft tones in a water color finish. Gives the subject added depth in her femininity.
Strong sense of light and shade. Nice use of "haloing" the hair.
Second Place: Star Petals!(first entry) Excellent use of colors. Realistic shading on the subject and BG. Great effort on BG and overall pallet of colors. The BG compliments the subject perfectly!
Third Place: Ace Gallagher! A strong contender. Good use of hue with shade and light. Strong contrasts with the leaves. A good effort on the BG as it compliments the subject well.
Fourth Place: PriestessPower444! A solid effort with pencils. Unfortunately, the subject gets lost in the BG. They compete for the eye's attention. BG could be done in B&W or light gray scale to help the subject pop. Possible scanner problem, We really wish we could have seen the original we bet the colors would really pop out then!
Fifth Place: Star Petals! (second entry) Good effort on this one. Pencils gave it some texture. Good BG as well. Unique idea of incorporating Orihime's Shun Shun Rikka.
Sixth Place: Sad Angel! Nice effort but color needs to be a bit richer. The BG looks like it was an after thought. This is another piece we would have liked to seen the original of, scanners can reduce colors too much and it was so beautifully contoured just too "bright"
Seventh Place: 7th Place: Wings Dont Fail! A unique idea with a creative look. The lack of color gives it some depth but not enough. The BG looks rushed and unfinished. Even a Goth piece needs some polishing. It just looks very 'last minute'. With more time, this one could have ranked a lot higher. We really loved the hair coloring too!
Special Words from our Guest Judge Grifter99: "Congratulations to all that participated. Everyone has a unique style and all these works are a testimony to the diversity of their creativity."
And I just wanted to say again Thank You to ALL! I really feel good that so many people took an interest in my contest. I really appreciate all your efforts and I am so glad to see a piece of mine taken in so many unique directions. Thanks again and Winners can PM their requests at their convienence.
