Continued, part 2 of "La Vie Boheme/I Should Tell You"
xDDDDDDD Thanks guys! I'm betting both of you would LOVE RENT too. *squees* I'm rested now, though...I had to clean my room, which is really weird now that it's mostly clean, and it's kinda freaking me out. 0.o; But yay for more story!

xD And the more I think about it, the more I want to do the entire show in a gigantic song fic. *giggles* It fits the cast of KH so well! Hell, I might as well! xD So yeah, enjoy this for now!

Oh, and Lolly~cha, my eyes are dark brown, almost black. ^-^

-----<3-----

Riku walked over to a table at the back of the room, laughing at the group of people he once called friends. "Bohemia, bohemia's a fallacy in your head! This is Calcutta!" He gave them one last glance before sitting down, a few of his business partners also pulling up seats. "Bohemia is dead."

The group scowled at Riku as he began to chat airily with his companions. The silence strectched on, even after they had placed their orders. Finally, Sora stood up.

"I can't take this," he muttered, before lifting his glass, grinning. "Hey, Riku made a toast, I can too, right?"

The rest of the group shrugged, suddenly feeling their intrests perk up. What was Sora planning to do?

Sora, ignoring the cafe manager, stood up on his chair. "A toast!" he shouted, gaining the attention of the cafe. He looked around at his friends, before giving them all a quick wink. "Dearly beloved, we gather here to say our goodbyes! Here she lies-" He waved a hand around the room, his tone both serious, and slightly nutty. Across from him, Leon and Sephiroth his their laughter, instead chanting random, Latin-hymn-sounding words.

"No one knew her worth! The great, late daughter of Mother Earth! On this night, when we celebrate The Birth..." Sora trailed off, looking around again to see if everyone had their glasses raised. Indeed, everyone at the table, as well as a few other cafe patrons, excluding Riku and his table, had a glassed raised. Sora shook his head. "In that little town of Bethlehem. We raise our glass -you bet your ass!- to...La Vie...Boheme!"

Around him, provoked by Leon, Cloud, and Yuffie, people began a soft chanting. "La Vie Boheme...La Vie Boheme...La Vie Boheme...La Vie Boheme..."

The small brunette grinned, and after recieving a thumbs up from Mikaela, kept on going. He set down his glass, and like a pastor giving a sermon, spoke out to the entire cafe. "To days on inspiration! Playing hookey! Making something out of nothing! The need to express, to communicate! To going against the grain, going insane, going mad!"

The chanting was slowly getting louder, as Yuffie stood up, pulling Aerith with her, and jumped on to the chair next to Sora, who was still listing things in need of a toast.

"To loving tension! No pension! To more than one demension! To starving for attention, hating convention, hating pretension! Not to mention, of course, hating dear old Mom and Dad!"

By now, the entire table was up, standing on something, and either chanting or clapping. Nearly all of the other cafe goers were doing the same, albit a bit more calmly. Sora, spurred by the fire he was lightly, jumped on to the table. "To being an 'us' for once, in stead of a 'them'!"

"La Vie Boheme! La Vie Boheme!"

Smiling, Yuffie pulled Aerith out of the commotion a bit, standing near Riku's table. "Isn't this great?" she panted, eyes sparkling with joy. "Sora's amazing! I hope he's getting this on film! This would make for a great protest!"

"Yes, Yuffie, but don't you-" Aerith was cut off as Yuffie's face fell. The ninja grabbed the older girl, pulling her down to her height. "Aer! We forgot my stuff back in Third! Quick, remember this for me: is the equipment in a pyramid?"

Aerith rolled her eyes, but nodded. "It is, Yuffie."

Yuffie sighed in relief. "Good. The mixer doesn't have a case- don't give me that face!" She caught Aerith rolling her eyes again, and gave her a swift smack to her backside. Behind them, one of Riku's business partners coughed, a slightly disgusted look on his face. Yuffie turned around, smirking. "Hey mister, she's my sister!"

Back at the table, the host, looking extremely flustered, ran over with two weighted down trays of food. As Leon and Sephiroth helped him to set them down on the table, he rattled off the list of orders. "So that's five miso soups, four seaweed salads, three soy burger dinners, two tofu dog platters, and one pasta with meatless balls?"

A pause. Sora scrunched up his nose. "Ugh."

Sephiroth, who had ordered most of the food, shrugged. "It tastes the same."

Next to him, Mikaela scoffed lightly, giggling. "If you close your eyes!"

The host, annoyed, threw down their check. "And thirteen orders of fries! Is that it here?"

The rest of the group cheered. "Wine and beer!"

Spurred by the moment, Mikaela jumped on to the table next to Sora, pulling Cloud with her. "Our toast!" she cried, pulling on Clouds arm. The two began to dance around the table, shouting out a toast. "To hand crafted beers made in local breweries! To yoga, to yogurt, to rice and beans and cheese! To leather, to dildos! To curry vindaloo! To huevos rancheros, and Maya Angelou!"

They jumped off the table, Sephiroth catching Cloud, and Leon catching Mikaela. Yuffie rushed over, flipping up on the table. In the process, she manged to pull Sephiroth and Cloud, still in the silver-haired man's arms, up with her. "Seph! Our turn!" She struck a pose, while the man shrugged, before setting Cloud down. "Emotion, devotion, to causing a comotion! Creation, vacation-"

The two were cut off as Sora slid in between them, throwing up his hands. "Mucho masturbation!"

Yuffie and Sephiroth shrugged. "Compassion, to fashion, to passion- when it's new!"

Sephiroth grabbed Cloud around his wasit, getting into the spirit. "To Sontag!"

Cloud grinned. "To Sondheim!"

Mikaela, Leon, Yuffie, and Sora, all back on the table, shouted out, "To anything taboo!"

Sephiroth joined the group on the table, throwing an arm around Leon. "Ginsberg, Dylan, Cunniham and Cage-"

"Lenny Bruce!"

"Langston Huges!"

Yuffie, jumping off the table at Aerith, squealed in delight. "To the stage!"

"To Uta!"

"To Buddha!"

"Pablo Neruda, too!"

Mikaela pressed her back against Leon's, tossing up her hands in a Broadway pose as he mimicked her moves. "Why Dorothy and toto went over the rainbow: to blow off Auntie Em!"

The entire cafe was in a spirited flurry now as they collectivly shouted their new anthem, "La Vie Boheme!"

Back on the ground, Yuffie began pushing Aerith towards the door. "Come on Aer! You're my production manager! Please?"

Aerith rolled her eyes, a growing habit around her girlfriend. "Fine, fine. I'll go get your equipment." She sighed as Yuffie jumped up to kiss her cheek.

"And wipe the speakers off before you pack!"

"Yes, Yuffie."

The ninja girl smiled, squealing out, "Well, hurry back!", before pulling Aerith down for a quick, but heated kiss. As they pulled away, Aerith caught the eye of the same guy as before, his eyebrows raised.

"Sisters?"

"We're close," she muttered, before rushing out to go pick up Yuffie's forgotten equipment.

Back inside the cafe, the group was still making a scene, to the displeasure of Riku and his fellow business partners.

Sora, Mikaela, and Cloud were currently dancing around the cafe, yelling out more of their "toast".

"Bisexuals, trisexuals, homosapiens, carcinogens, hallucinogens, men! Pee Wee Herman! German wine, turpentine, Gertrude Stein, Antonioni, Bertolucci, Kurosawa! Carmina Burana!"

They ran to the front of the cafe, encouraging everyone else to join in.

"To apathy, to entropy, to empathy, ecstasy! Vaclav Havel! The Sex Pistols! Eight B C! To no shame, never plaing the fame game!"

Sephiroth cut in, leaning over them. "To marijuana!" he cried, gaining a funny look from the group, who's collective thoughts added up to something along the lines of, "Wow, he's drunk."

Shrugging, they continued, even more spirited with the tipsy Sephiroth joining in. "To sodomy, it's between God and me! To S and M!"

From his table, Riku jumped up, and began shouting to the host. "Waiter, waiter! Waiter!" He was drowned out, however, but another shout of the night's anthm.

"La Vie Boheme!"

Sephiroth, now quite social, called for a bit of quiet. "Thank you, thank you! And now, in honor of the death of Bohemia, an impromtu salon will commence immediately following dinner! Mikaela Redamo-", Mikaela bowed to a smattering of applause, "-clad only in bubblewrap, will perform her famous Lawn Chair Handcuff Dance, to the sounds of iced tea being stirred!"

Leon snorted, pushing Sephiroth out of the way, and began his round as MC. "Sora Hikashi will preview his new documentary on his inability to hold an erection on the High Holy Days!" He snickered at the appalled look on Sora's face as the crowed gasped and giggled at the remark. Shaking his head, the smaller brunette simply pushed Leon over, before taking up an imaginary microphone.

"Yuffie Kisaragi-", another bow, amongst a riot of cheering, "-back from her spectacular one-night engagement at the Third District Moggle lot, will sing Native American tribal chants through her vocoder, while accompanying herself on the electric cello- which she has never studdied!"

Amongst the insanity, Mikaela felt herself being pulled away from the group. before coming face to face with Riku. She narrowed her eyes, before trying to get past him. The boy wouldn't have that though, and roughly jerked on her arm, so she would stay close. "Nice to se you again, Mikki," he purred, using the nickname he'd given her awhile back.

Mikaela rolled her eyes. "What do you want, Riku?"

Riku cast a look in Leon's direction. "Your new boyfriend doesn't know about us?"

Mikaela huffed. "There's nothing to know."

"Don't you think that we should discuss-"

"It was three months ago!"

A scoff. "He doesn't act like he's with you."

A shrug, and Mikaela tried to look unphased. "We're taking things slow."

"Where's he now?"

"He's right..." Mikaela trailed off, looking back for Leon, yet not finding him. The older brunette boy seemed to have disappeared.

"Uh huh."

"Where'd he go?" She wrenched her arm out of Riku's grasp, before running back into the crowd. Riku simply smirked; the damage was done.

Back with the gang, Sora was making another annoucement, this time about Leon.

"Squall Leonheart-"

"That's Leon!"

"-will attempt to write a bittersweet, provacative song!" He tossed Leon a guitar that had been sitting in a corner of the cafe. Confused, Leon played the only thing he knew.

"...that doesn't remind us of 'Musetta's Waltz'!" He shook his head, before handing off the pretend mic to Sephiroth again.

"Cloud Strife will model the lastest fashions from Paris, while accompanying himself on the ten-gallon plastic pickel tub!"

Cloud stole the mic from his boyfriend, grinning. "And Sephiroth will recount his exploits as an anarchist- including the tale of his successful reprograming of the Academy Virtual Reality equipment to self-distruct, as it broadcast the words:"

Here, the entire group shouted out, "Actual reality! Act up! Fight charades!"

Behind them, they could hear Riku trying to call out again. "Check!" Mikaela, still reeling from his comments, tried to ignore him as she stalked over to Leon. She pulled on his shoulder, bringing him to face her.

"Excuse me! Did I do something wrong? I get invited, then ignored, all night long!"

Leon sighed. "I've been trying! I'm not lying!" He ran a hand through his hair, avoiding straight on eye contact. "No one's perfect! I've got baggage-"

Mikaela rolled her eyes, before taking his hand. "Life's too short babe- time is flying. I'm looking for baggage that goes with mine." She smiled as Leon looked up.

"I should tell you-"

She shook her head, giving a small thought to Riku. "I've got baggage too."

"I should tell you-"

"-baggage-"

Behind the pair, the group exploded in a wave of spirited demand. "Wine and beer!"

Silence hung in the air for a moment. Mikaela and Leon both stood still for a moment, afarid to move. Finally, Mikaela tried to break the tension, leaning up on Leon's chest. As she died, she gave a cry of pain, her hand flying to her thigh. Ignoring Leon's attempt to find out what wrong, she stuck her hand down the side of her pants, digging around a bit, before removing a small dagger that had been tied to her leg. She held it up, finding blood on the tip. "Damn," she muttered, looking back at Leon. She couldn't help but smile when he held out a dagger, nearly identical to hers.

"You?" he questioned, and she nodded.

"Me. You?"

A pause. "Mikki..." He couldn't help himself; he'd been wanting to call her that since she'd told him her name. Seeing the look that ran through her eyes, he held out a hand to her. "Come on," he said softly, pulling her out of the cafe. "We should talk."

-----<3-----

xD Again, not finished. But WOW! That's the end of the first part, "La Vie Boheme". Next up is "I Should Tell You", then the final part, the La Vie reprise bit.

Isn't RENT awesome?!

Also, some notes here: the "charades" part is really supposed to be "Fight AIDS!", but...c'mon...though it's a big part of RENT, I could bring myself to give anyone in here AIDS. It just...doesn't fit the story. Which is why Leon and Mikaela both have daggers concealed for protection as their one thing in common, instead of both having to take an AZT break for their meds.

Did I substitute well?

xD Yush, more tomorrow lufferlys! 'Night!

One of two, "La Vie Boheme" and "I Should Tell You"
Ok, so after starting one one-shot/song fic, which is so depressing it makes me bleed (it's really good so far though...xD), I needed some humor in my system. Oh, and yush, this is a kind of side fic to my KH already going, except this is kind of an AU of that AU. xDDDDD

Ok, the song is from an AMAZING musical called "RENT". I may also do a song fic to the title song, as I'm already thinking of a great situation for it. xD Anyway! I've got some fun notes for this one:

In "RENT", there's some gay lovin' goin' on. xD So excuse my pairings; I had to do it, otherwise the song wouldn't work. The original pairings are: Roger/Mimi, Maureen/Joanne, Angel/Collins. (The two other characters, Mark and Benny, don't get any. xD Well, not with any other main characters.) My pairings ended up being: Leon/Mikaela (Roger/Mimi), Yuffie/Aerith (Maureen/Joanne), Cloud/Sephiroth (Angel/Collins). (And, for kicks: Sora as Mark, and Riku as Benny. Kairi and Cid are in here too. xDDD) Yes, the characters match up to who the person is in the musical, except for maybe Seph being Collins. *shrugs* Ah well.

Another note: I have made some slight edits here and there to the lyrics, so as to make it match the situation better. Plus, this is technically 3 songs in one fic (La Vie Boheme, I Should Tell You, and La Vie Boheme B). It's the end of the first act, so yeah. x3

I'd better just shut up now, so enjoy loves!

-----<3-----

"So, dinner in First?"

"Sounds fine to me." Mikaela turned to the group behind her as she held on to Leon's hand. "Hey, guys? Wanna take a break from running from the cops to catch some dinner?" She grinned as both Aerith and Cloud nodded vigorously as they fought off their lovers.

"Yuffie-"

"Shit Seph! Ow-"

"-stop! Yuffie! Not in-"

"-that hurt's! Seph, not in-"

"-public!"

The others laughed as Sora ran up, holding out the new camcorder he'd gotten earlier that day. "Awesome! I'm getting great footage! I'll be top of the Internet in no time with this stuff! Yuri sells big!"

"Sora!"

Mikaela couldn't help but giggle as Aerith whapped the boy on the back of the head. Hey, at least he was helping to liven up the scene since Yuffie's disasterous concert in Third.

The young ninja had been holding a "poetic protest" in the district, and instead it had caused a full scale riot. Yuffie, however, was extremely pleased. As they had drug her out, before the police could get involved, she'd been gleefully squealing about how Riku, an old "friend" of the group, wouldn't be able to ignore her cause, which so happened to be saving the bit of district in Third for Moggles. Riku, who's father owned the section, wanted to turn it into a dance club and bar; he refused to give in to any of the gang's plees, and was even going so far as the threaten to throw them all out of their apartments, which his father also owned, if they didn't step down. He'd even tried to bribe Sora and Leon into stopping Yuffie's protest, as it was on Christmas Eve, and "interferred with his other plans".

Instead, the gang had supported Yuffie: Leon bringing along Mikaela, his now "officially new" girlfriend, Sora with his camera, Aerith as Yuffie's production manger, Cloud and his "oficially new" boyfriend Sephiroth as moral support, and even Cid, as protection.

Needless to say, the group felt pretty proud of themselves.

Leon walked up to the skinny man at the head of their local favorite, First District's Twilight Cafe. "Hey, excuse me! Can we get a-" He was cut off when the man caught sight of his face, and began to skurry around the cafe, attempting to ignore him.

""No, please no! Not tonight! Please no!" he muttered under his breath, before turning back to Leon a bit. "Mister, can't you go? Not tonight, can't have a scene!"

Leon narrowed his eyes in shock. "What?" Again, he was cut off by the host.

"No, please no! You- hello sir!" he broke off, calling to someone behind the group. Preoccupied, he snarled at Leon, "I said no!", before calling to the back, at his staff, "Im portant customer!"

Sora, who was standing next to Leon, seethed. "What am I, just a blur?"

The host sighed, shaking his head at the group. "You stay all night, you never buy!"

Sora cut in, pointing a finger at the man. "That's a lie! That's a lie! I had a tea the other day-"

"You couldn't pay."

"...oh yeah." He chuckled, before turning away, embarrassed.

Yuffie sighed, before walking past the host, and taking up a seat at a long table a bit of aways into the cafe. "Just sit down guys. It's not like he'll kick us out."

"If I ask, he will."

The group snapped to attention, anger on nearly every face. Sephiroth rolled his eyes, mockingly retorting at their intruder. "Riku Kujiradou, here?" he asked, smirking.

The host saw the exchange, and put his face in his hand, before wandering off. "Oh no!"

To his retreating back, the group called out, "Wine and beer!", before turning back to Riku. Yuffie turned up her nose. "The enemy of Third District, eh?" She laughed. "We'll stay."

From the background, someone, sounding like the host, called out, "Oy vey!"

Sephiroth leaned back in his seat, an arm around Cloud. "Riku. What brings a mogul in his own mind to the Twilight Cafe?"

Riku smirked, raising a wine glass a waiter had brought to him. "I would like to propse a toast. To Yuffie's noble try! It went well."

"Go to hell!"

"Yuffie!"

"Sorry, Aer."

Riku now rolled his eyes at Yuffie's outburst. "Was the yuppie 'scum' stomped? Counting the homeless, how many tickets weren't comp'ed?"

There was silence for a bit, as a few people seethed at the silver-haired boy. Leon attempted to break the tension, though with a hidden smirk, which Mikaela didn't fail to notice as she sat, slightly hidden, next to Leon.

"Why did Muffy-"

"Kairi."

"-miss the show?"

Riku snorted at the childish comment aimed at his girlfriend. "There was a death in the family, if you must know." He drained his wine. At the end of the table, Cloud looked around, a bit guilty.

"Who died?"

Riku narrowed his eyes. "Our Akita-"

"-Evita," Leon, Sora, Cloud, and Sephiroth finished. Leaning over, Leon whispered in Cloud's ear, "I can't believe that woman paid you to get Riku's dog to commit suicide!"

"It was a thousand munny! What would you have done?!"

Riku curled his lip. "Yes." He began walking away, when a flash of black caught his eye, turning back to the table, he was genuinely shocked to find Mikaela sitting among the others. "Mikaela? I'm surprised!" He stepped forward and stood next to her. "a bright and charming girl like you, hangs out with these slackers! Who don't adhere to deals," he added, gaining a rise from everony at the table. He smirked again, a favorite move of his, and pulled away, after running a hand over Mikaela's shoulders, causing her to shudder.

"They make fun, but I'm the one attempting to do some good! Or do you really want a neighborhood where Moggles piss on your stoop every night?" Another collective rise in emotion, as Mikaela had to prevent Leon from standing, and Aerith had to slap a hand over Yuffie's mouth to prevent to onscenities.

Riku walked over to a table at the back of the room, laughing at the group of people he once called friends. "Bohemia, bohemia's a fallacy in your head! This is Calcutta!" He gave them one last glance before sitting down, a few of his business partners also pulling up seats. "Bohemia is dead."

Ah gomen, I need a short break. It's late. xD I'll post more tomorrow.

   Sowwy guys....
Gah, I'm really, REALLY sorry guys...I didn't get that update up, and i can't now because I started revising it, so half of it's good, and half's like...retarded...xD

Guh, I'm like...tired...but not really. I haven't had much to do lately; this week i started Driver's Ed, so I can actually legally drive now (if someone over 21 is in the car with me; I've only got my permit), but it's kinda meh...cuz...my class is really, really quiet. So i feel so uncomfortable in it. xD Like, I just want to stand up and be like, "*throws pencil at someone* DAMN IT, TALK YOU BITCH!" I'm not used to atmospheres like that! D= But I like my teacher dude. He's younger, like 27, and OMGWTF so cool. He's done it all, so he has tons of crazy stories. xDDDDD They make me think of when I was with Chris and he got pulled over. Oh muh gawd. We freaked out so bad, because only Chris was wearing his seatbelt (me and the Sluts pulled ours on right before the cop got to the car, xD) and he had too many people in the car. He got let off though, so it was cool. xDDD

But yeah...I'm really, really wanting to write...but I can't...like...Writer's Constipation, instead of Block. xDDDDDDDDDDD

It's true. xDDDDDDD

Yeah, well, I'm boring. Luff you guys!

Love,

   *squees* OMFGKGFHGEGFDSGMVFGH
Don't mind me; I just rediscovered a favorite series of fanfics, from my obsessive X:Evo days. *giggles* They're GOD. Seriously, whoever the fuck wrote this stuff is my hero.

Oh, and as for tomorrow's ficcy update, YES it's still scheldueled, but I'm not sure WHEN I'll post. *shrugs* I haven't been getting my sleep lately (i dunno why either- last night it was so bad, I wasn't asleep until after 4AM. Though, I did end up with a really cool dream, with THE GUY in it *squees and dies*), plus tomorrow's my first day of Driver's Ed. But yush, you can still expect the first chapter. However...I still haven't come up with a good new name. The more I think about it, the more the old name doesn't fit the fic. *shrugs* So, once I get a bit of it up here, would you guys mind helping me find a new name?

Well, I'm sleepy, so I'm gonna see if going to bed earlier helps me out a bit. Love ya guys.

   HA!
Ok, false alarm...kinda...

Ok, THE GUY did get a movie part. But now his "agent" kinda screwed him over. He was GOING to get that lead part, if he accepted their wages. But since his "agent" wanted the $5000 a week, they can't afford him, so yeah.

xD I'm happy again.

Oh. And I got new manga! Kingdom Hearts 3, and Princess Ai 3. *drools*

Over all, I have 29 manga volumes.

A.I. Love You 1&2
Kingdom Hearts 1-3
Gravitation 1&2
InuYasha 1-11
Princess Ai 1-3
Yu-Gi-Oh! 1-7
Yu-Gi-Oh!: Duelist 1&2

I need to start collecting the rest of some of those *coughInuYashaandYu-Gi-Oh!cough*.

xD Yay manga.

Oh, and I got some Burt's Bees stuff. Yummy! It all smells so good!

   OMFG...wow...that's...yeah....
0________o Weird...

THE GUY -my THE GUY- is...well...famous. Or on his way to being famous. He got discovered for his acting by a talent agency. He got a principal part in a huge movie due out next Spring. He's getting paid AT LEAST $5000 a week.

OMFGLFGVKGDSHGKJHNBVSBKUAFQ;UUT[OEWGHREJ

T_________________T He can't be famous! Well, he can, and I'm so happy for him, but...

He's gonna forget all about us. About me.

I'm sad. DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD=

Stupid good-looking, good actor THE GUY.

*grumbles*

Love,
-Megumi

PS- Fic update: expect the OFFICIAL chapter 1 (yep, that's right!) on Monday. xD I still have yet to pick out a name (the old name is really...bah. It's good, but old.) though. So it may end up changing names later on, but just, stick with me, k?

So much love I make Cupid cry in SHAME,

DUNDADUNDUN! Part the 3rd (and last, for now): "Cradle Me"
xDDDDD *squees* *glomps Lolly and Chelsea* I'm glad you guys like this stuff! You really make me want to persue the rest of this fic (which, I will, xD). Well, here's the last part.

As tradition: Here, it's set before the other two. Backstory on the setting: before KH, Mikaela lives in Traverse Town, with Leon, Cid, Yuffie, and Aerith. (Not all in the same place; in my story, Mikaela/Aerith/Yuffie live together, while Leon and Cid each have their own place.) In this part, Mikaela is staying at Leon's for a few days, before resuming her duties with Sora and the gang.

This piece, i actually WENT THERE. So yeah, you'll see what I mean. But yes, THOSE PARTS I kept in my class piece. XD

Enjoy!

----------

Mikaela sat at the kitchen table, her headphones resting around her neck, and the CD player cranked to full volume. She turned over a page of the ratty parchment she was reading, some of the dark, yellowed pages sticking together. “Meh,” she breathed, pulling apart a set of pages, wincing at the near-ruined ink between them. “Last time I attempt to save a book from Atlantica, or any source of water for that matter. Good thing the rest is dry, at least." She began humming to herself as she translated the smeared passages, losing herself in her work. “When you walk away, you don’t hear me say, please, oh baby, don’t go. Simple and clean is the way that you’re maki-“

“Cute. Sounds like shit. You skipped a part too, I think.” Footsteps sounded behind her, bringing her out of her work. Without looking at the owner of the rough, bored-sounding voice, she picked up her pen again, scratching something on the pad of paper on the table.

She snorted. “Like you’d know.” Pushing some papers out of the seat next to her, she finally turned around, her eyes locking on to those of her best friend. “You know you love my singing voice.”

The brunette boy sat down next to the smaller girl, tugging on a lock of her black hair, before slumping down in his seat. “Yeah, sure.” He yawned, resting his head in his hand. “I’m just telling you that it sounded like shit, the song itself. Why don’t you ever sing happier songs?”

The girl snorted, giving the boy a wry smile. Marking her place on the papers, and setting them down on the table in front of her, she pushed her chair back a bit, allowing her to look into the boy's eyes straight on. “I do sing happy songs, remember? Except, I think it might only be when I’m drunk...”

The boy gave her a dead-pan look. He shook his head, rolling his eyes. “You are incredibly vulgar for a girl. Has anyone mentioned that before?” He shook his head again when she opened her mouth to respond, holding out a hand to stop her. “No, forget it. We are not going there tonight. I don’t need more stories about last month and the sake incident.” He sighed, running his fingers through his hair. “Change of subject though, Mikaela. And don’t avoid an answer. I need an update on the mission status. On your mission status. How are things going so far?”

Mikaela adverted her eyes, turning in her seat so that she was facing the table again. She let her smoke-colored eyes drift down to the scrubbed wood, shrugging her shoulders. She bit her lower lip; the gloss tasted like cherries, she thought, her mind escaping her as she tried to come up with a believable excuse. “Fine, Leon. It’s been fine. We’re getting closer to our next destination; we just need another few days, and for the ship to be fixed. We’re returning to the desert tomorrow, if things go alright tonight at the shop, and-“

The boy had stopped her, holding his fingers to her lips. His stormy grey eyes were fixated on her, locked with her paler ones. Though he was barely showing any emotion, he commanded her silence and attention. “No,” he began, keeping his hand firmly over her mouth so she couldn’t protest. “I don’t want that kind of update. Mikaela, don’t keep things from me. We’ve had this discussion before. When I want the truth, I want the truth. And I want it now. Tell me the truth, Mikaela Redamo; how is the mission, your mission, going?”

Mikaela adverted her eyes once again as he removed his hand, her breathing quick and ragged. She didn’t want to tell him the truth. Even if she had to, she sure as hell didn’t want to. Sighing, she lifted her eyes, plastering on a large, fake smile. “It’s fine! I promise you! Nothing bad has happened since we arrived in the desert!” She held back a wince at just how fake she sounded. Leon was going to kill her, she knew it. “The rest of the group is fine, our targets are in sight, protected, we’re all doing well in flight sessions, and except for onelittlemishapwiththatstalkerofmine we haven’t-“

A cold glare was enough to cut off her sentence, and she would’ve whimpered if it would’ve helped her situation. Yep, she knew it. Leon was going to kill her. She held back her cringe at the glare as she tried to explain what she had just blurted out.

“Leon, stop, it’s ok, I promise nothing bad-“ She did cringe, however, when Leon pounded his fist on to the table, and began to shout. Yep. Going to kill her.

The boy’s eyes were flashing, cool grey turning to hard steel. “What the hell?! You said you’d taken care of him! You swore to me that he was not coming after you again! Damn it Mikaela!” Leon turned away from his friend, his rage mounting. “Why don’t you listen to me?! Why do you have to be so stupid?!” He jumped up from his seat, his heart racing, as he paced the floor. He turned back to the younger girl, who was looking up at him with terrified eyes. Shaking his head, his long brown hair flying about his face, he started up the tirade again. “He could kill you! Do you want that?! He could turn you into some kind of sick plaything! Hell, next thing you know you could be locked up somewhere, just waiting to get raped!” Mikaela flinched again at this, fighting back tears. “He’s always one step ahead of you! This guy’s smart, Mikaela! Smarter than you! You know this! And what do you do?! YOU KEEP PUTTING YOURSELF IN HARM’S WAY! GOD DAMNIT MIKAELA, QUIT BEING SUCH A LITTLE FUCKING BITCH AND-

Silence rang out in the kitchen as the older boy cut himself off mid-rant. His eyes widened in realization of what he had said, and he sunk back into his seat, eyes refusing to look at the tense girl next to him. “No. No, no, I didn’t, I swear, I...” He slumped a bit, sitting lower in the seat, eyes frantically looking about him. He leaned forward, supporting his weight on his fore arms. “Mikaela, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I didn’t, I would never...”

Mikaela jumped off her seat, pulling herself down to sit on the floor, her head in his lap. Leon had begun to shiver fiercely, looking as if he was about to break down.

Great. Just what we need, another episode.

Mikaela could care less about the screaming, about his words. She knew Leon never meant any of it. But she had to stop him before he let what he had said get to him. “Leon, no, no Leon, it’s ok, I promise, Leon no, I’m not mad, I...” she babbled, rubbing soothing motions on his legs as he held back the terror, covering his face with his hands. “I’m not mad Leon, why would I be mad? I know you didn’t mean any of that. Leon...”

Her words seemed to be falling on deaf ears, however, as the boy just started to shake harder, scrubbing at his face with his hands. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry,” he muttered over and over, the mantra barely heard through the rough skin and leather gloves covering his face. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean it, I’m sorry!” He bent his head down, gripping the table roughly. “I didn’t mean it, Mikaela, you know I didn’t...”

“Shh.” Mikaela stood up, resting her head on his, her cheek against his soft, dark brown hair. “I know Leon. I know you’re just worried about me.” She did know it, even if she acted like she didn't care. “But you have to learn to control yourself.” She pulled his head up, forcing him to look at her, reversing their roles from only a few minutes before. Her gaze was steady, and she kept her hands on him as she talked; it was a calming method Goofy had been teaching her, should she ever need to use it while on the mission. It seemed to be working, as Leon’s shivering had calmed down, now being only soft tremors every now and then. Though his eyes were rimmed with red, no tears were falling, which was a relief for the still-shaken girl. Mikaela took another deep breath, steadying herself. She would have to act as an anchor for the both of them.

God, I hate these things.

“Leon, I know you just want to protect me. I thank you for it, I really do. And I know you don’t want me to get hurt. Again, I thank for caring. But unless I do this on my own, handle this guy on my own, I won’t be safe, or unhurt. You say you know him; you only know a little bit. Leon, you don’t know what he’s capable of. He’d come after the rest of the group. He’d come after you.” Her voice was shaking slightly, but she closed her eyes, holding back tears. Be an anchor, she thought to herself, though the thought was hard to hold on to. “I’d never be able to live with myself if you came into harm’s way. That’s why you need control, Leon.” She reopened her eyes, keeping them on the boy’s. “You need to learn to hold back, to not fight. You need to learn it wasn't your fault, no matter what it was. I don’t want to lose you...to...to the darkness...”

Those words were her undoing; the small girl fell into the boy’s arms, crying, her sobs echoing in the small room. “I don’t want to lose you! Never! You’re almost all I have, and if you were gone, I’d...I’d...” She tried to find her words, but they were lodged in her throat, held back by tears. Instead, she clutched on to Leon harder, her nails digging into his shoulders.

They sat there, in silence, for nearly an hour, just holding on to each other.

God, I really hate these things.

xD My favorite piece. Yes, when I said I WENT THERE...I meant all that cursing, the emotional break down...yep. Did it. xD

Oh, and to explain: As Chels put it, Leon is an emo shit. xD I just take it pretty far into the world of emo. Why the episode? Well, think of it this way: Leon likes being in control. Any time he thinks he's lost control on a situation, he, well, freaks. This I attribute to the fact that he was a SPAZZ about his world being destroyed. (He changes his name to avoid the shame he feels, but is still a freak about it. WTF.) So, when Mikaela tells him about her "stalker incidents", he feels like he's failed to protect her, like how he failed to save his home world. Failure = breakdown.

The class version of this is pretty different. xD I like this one much better though.

   Part the 2nd: "Complexities"
LOL@6/6/06

It rained today. Which was a GOOD thing. xDDD

Ah well, yush. Here's my second piece from CW. This one was HEAVILY edited for class, as otherwise, it's obviously fanfiction. xDDDD And yeah. it was supposed to be "original" work, which yes, technically this stuff is...but I'm straying. Backstory here?

Ok, this is my least favorite piece, but it's still ok I think. Heavy on dialogue (*squees* what we all know Megumi uses too much of), and is more...risque...? Not really, but it does talk about STDs. But yeah, ok: Mikaela has a chat with King Mickey, about some of her more mysterious "complexities", namely, her "Trinity Heart Complex".

(THC is MY FUCKING IDEA. So I'd like it if people DON'T FUCKING STEAL IT. *grin*)

Enjoy then, =D.

----------

“So…you do know that this is probably the worst place to have this conversation, right? Seriously, it’s not a good place for this. No offense, Your Highness, but really...”

Mikaela raised an eyebrow, looking at her companion in a skeptical way. She pulled her hair over her shoulder, and bit her lower lip, tasting her ever-present cherry-flavored lip gloss. “How are you so sure that we can have a normal conversation here? I mean...” She trailed off, searching for the right words. Instead, she bought herself some thinking time by waving a hand at the mouse standing in front of her. “You want to tell me the truth, about myself, right? But how much time do we need? A minute, an hour, a day? And how much time do we really have?” Her grey irises looked desperate in the clean light of the room, almost fading in with the whites of her eyes, the reflection was so strong. “You told me I needed to know this. Don’t tell me unless we have time. I beg of you, don’t tell me unless you can tell me the whole story. I deserve to hear the whole story.”

Mickey sighed, shaking his head. “I’m sorry. But I don’t know. How much time we have all depends on the others.” He took Mikaela’s hand in his. “I can’t promise you anything, my dear, no matter how much I want to.” He looked wistful, sad, depressed even. “I don’t even know everything. You may never know the entire truth, no matter how long you, or anyone else, search.”

The girl let her gaze drop to the marble floor, tracing the pretty designs on the tiles, before nodding. “I...I understand,” she replied softly, her voice shaking. “I just...I’ve never known the truth. The actually truth. All I have are scattered memories, sometimes not even that. I don’t even have stories." Her eyes flashed in annoyance. "A shot memory...and this stupid tatoo." She rubbed a hand over her lower back, scowling. The tatoo, though she couldn't see it, was still there: three blue hearts, entwined, and topped with a gold crown.

"Look, King Mickey...I just want to know what this has been all about, why I’m here on this journey...and who I am. What does all this have to do with me, and what is my future should I continue on. That's all I want.”

The silence between the pair was cold. Mikaela shivered, the feelings from Hollow Bastion coming back to her in a flood. She wrapped her arms around herself, fighting back the memories. She wouldn't crumble, not now. She couldn't.

“If only I could tell you all of this.” The king sighed, blinking his large, black eyes. “You know I only know so much. The rest is up to you to find.” When Mikaela began to blink rapidly at these words, he rushed on. “That’s not to say that I don’t know anything. Come. Forget the present for now. Let’s talk about the past.”

"I'd rather not-"

"Not that past. I'm still so sorry it had to happen."

"I'll move on." The matter was closed.

Mickey nodded, before turning from Mikaela, to look across the hall. He pointed to a small set of chairs and a table that had appeared near the large silver door across the room. Pulling the girl along behind him, he pulled out a chair for her when they reached the table. “Let’s sit.”

Mikaela raised an eyebrow, tears forgotten at the sudden appearance at a table and two chairs in a once-empty hallway. “This place is stranger than Wonderland,” she muttered to herself, running her free hand through her hair. “I swear, I’ll never get used to all this magic business. I’m still not used to it, even after a few months! How you people stand it, I don’t think I’ll ever know..."

The king laughed, taking up a seat next to the young girl. “Your distaste for magic is funny, Mikaela. Because, after all, and in all reality, this story begins with magic.” He settled down in his chair, stippling his fingers under his chin. Mikaela copied him, but instead, she rested her head in her hands, elbows on the table.

“Really now?” She was curious; there was no sarcasm in her voice, a rare occurrence.

The king nodded, smiling. “Yes. A strong, deep, ancient magic, that’s become known as The Light.”

“And here we go.”

“Do you want to know?”

“Yes sir. Sorry.”

“Ok then. Now, settle down.

“Not very long ago, though it may seem to have been many years, all these many worlds we have come to know about were one. They were united, by a magical force- The Light. It was a strong, ancient magic, older than the world itself. No one knows what made it, or who once controlled it. It has simply always been there. Under this magic, the people of the world prospered. But, as you may know, there were those who wanted to disrupt the power of The Light. They wanted to harvest its powers for their own, and corrupt it, making it Dark and evil...a...shadow of its former self. And, by now, you should know that they did.” He looked solemn for a moment, collecting himself. “Those who wanted the power succeeded, after winning a great battle, and unlocked the secrets to The Light. The powers it contained were stressed, until they collapsed; The Light was destroyed, shattered, and the world was torn apart. Afterwards, The Light became lost, hidden, within the hearts of the pure.”

“Which is where I come in, right?” Mikaela leaned over the table, lounging on the smooth, cool surface. “Since I’m supposedly this ‘Trinity Heart’ thing, or whatever you call it, and it’s supposed to be the purest of the pure, or something...right? That’s what Ansem said, whenever I asked him about it.”

Mickey nodded. “Correct. While small pieces of The Light were buried in normal hearts, there were some pieces that became too large when they were broken up. These pieces were transformed into new souls, souls that, because of the transformation from metaphysical power to living, breathing humans, had immense power.”

Mikaela snorted. “Funny. What ‘powers’? As far as I can tell, I’m just an average teenage girl. With an unusual amount of strange things that happen around her, but that’s about it. And don’t even say my skill with the sword, as that’s just plain dumb luck half the time.” She cracked a smile and giggled, while the king shook his head.

“No. Not that kind of power. A deeper kind. But that’s not what we’re here to discuss. This is about your...complex. Your ‘Trinity Heart Complex’.”

“Huh?”

“Trinity Heart Complex.”

“Um...yeah, ok, about that...” Mikaela coughed slightly. “’Complex’. Makes it sound like a disease, doesn’t it?”

The king shrugged. “In a way, it is. This ‘complex’ is something you’re born with-“

“Like an STD?”

“No. Hush. It’s something that stays with you for life, and has no cure. So, yes, it is indeed like a disease. But really, it’s better than it seems.”

“I would hope so. Now, go on. I want to hear about this ‘like-gonaherpasyphilaids-but-not-really-“

Mickey blinked. He opened his mouth, paused at Mikaela's grin, and shook his head. "No. We're not even going to go there."

“Close enough, right?"

"I don't even want to know where you learned that word."

"Don't worry, it wasn't Cid this time. Anyway, point is, I want to hear what you’ve got to say, and-“

The black-haired girl stopped, stood up, and held up a hand to keep Mickey silent as well, her eyes widening. Turning back to the mouse still sitting at the table, she shuddered, gasping. “They’re here,” she whispered, her hand straying to her waist, where her sword hung in its scabbard. “Not good, not good. Shit, shit, shit-“

“Mikaela.”

“Sorry. Getting a hold on myself.” She breathed deeply, before removing her sword, the metal hissing softly. The long piece of delicate-looking metal glinted under the bright light of the room, the shine ominous, in a way. “Prepare yourself,” she muttered, shifting her weight slightly. She ground her boots against the smooth marble floor, her eyes narrowing. Beside her, the king did the same, preparing to call his weapon when needed. The pair stood silently, back to back, waiting.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes. It's become a sixth sense now, after...the incident."

A pause. The pair shifted again, lowering themselves into defensive stances.

“And know what, Mr. Royal Pants?”

A tense searching for words. “What?”

“After this, you better finish telling me that story.”

“If we-“

“Shut up. We will. Now, get ready. Here they come.”

Ok, so no real depth into the THC thing. *giggle* It IS a teaser, afterall. Yes, Mikaela is eluding to something bad that happened in Hollow Bastion following her kidnapping. (This part takes place a few weeks after "Looking-Glass".) I'll let you ponder it until the rest of the story is put up. xDDD But yush, there's the second piece.

Oh. And the term "gonaherpasyphilaids" is curtosy of my friend from CW, Gerard. It's a term given to skanks, as to what they carry around down below. *insane giggles*
