more anime and a quick update!
yikes, I've been busy! Work takes up a bit more than 50 hrs a week, which leaves little time for socializing, relaxing, and otaku-ing. I'm behind on my drawings (sorry!), haven't touched a manga in a month, and have barely had time to watch any new anime.
Barely any time... which means I've started a few new series over the past two months.

First is Aquarian Age. The anime is based on the card game, which I've never played. The animation isn't exactly impressive, but the characters and music make the anime worth it. I particularly liked the main female character, Yuriko. She is easier to relate to than other anime heroines. She makes mistakes, talks like a real person, and isn't clutzy or squeeky or unrealistically perfect.

I've also started to watch Haibane Renmei. The series was off to a slow start - the first 4 episodes being nothing more than straightforward introduction. HR is starting to pick up, and I think my patience will be rewarded.

Oh, and did I mention that I watched Loveless? I liked the concept and the animation, but I felt some of it was fan-service-y. It seemed to end abruptly - even for an anime. Still, its short length made the fan service a little bit more tolerable.

Anyways, it is time for me to get some sleep! Keep drawing everyone!

time to play!
quick update - super busy with fun new job. working on requests, and trying to steal a few minutes here and there to keep looking at everyone's art/posts. Please forgive my disapearance, I'll be back more regularly soon!

I will be disappearing for a week or so. I am a 4H sheep club leader and this week is our county fair. It's exhausting, but well worth the work! Fair time is my favorite time of year!

thunderstorms
EEEEEEEEK!
I do not like thunderstorms!
When I was a younger, and I lived in Arizona, nothing was more spectacular to my child's mind than the desert lightning splitting through the purple night sky. Now that I am no longer a child, the rumbling and crackling is unsettling, and keeps me awake when I should be dreaming sweetly.
I've got to find someone to cuddle with me on nights like this!

random silly update from 3 am
So...
One of my pics got 4th place in SnowPhoenix's couples contest! All of the entries were amazing, and honestly, I was surprised I placed at all! Check out all the other entries and winners on her site. (I'd link her site, but I'm not very proficient in html... so anyone who can give me a crash course, I'll love you forever lol!) Oh, the pic that placed was my drawing of Kyon and Haruhi from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
On a different note, my nephew is doing wonderfully. He's adorable! (Clearly, he gets that from me haha.) My sister is still sort of clueless about the whole motherhood thing, and I laugh every time she has to change a diaper. My sister's husband is a total otaku as well, so we joke around about which anime the lil guy will be hooked on. I tease that I'm going to make him watch shojo like Sailor Moon while he thinks his son will watch Kenshin or Ninja Scroll. I'm going to laugh myself into a coma if he grows up hating anime!

new drawings
**Update - only the drawing of Shuno is up, which is weird cuz I totally submitted that after Orihime. Orihime is still not up and I am impatient lol!**


I submitted two new drawings, though neither is up on the site yet.
They are both from Bleach - the first is another version of spacecowboytv's Orihime line art and the second is one of Orihime's shun shun rikka.
I'm also working on an Alice in Wonderland drawing. I want it to be a little darker than my normal style, so it is giving me a bit of trouble. We'll see how it turns out...

EXCITING!!!
A few exciting things have happened lately.
The first is that the shore was wonderfully fun and relaxing!
The second is that I finished reading the new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. My predictions were spot on, and it was a fun read! I'm waiting for my dad to finish reading it too because I'm dying to talk about it!!!

The third and most exciting thing....
MY NEPHEW WAS BORN!!!! His name is Aiden William and he is adorable and perfect! Things are a little hectic now, but he has made everyone smile a little more.

down the shore!
I will be spending a few days down the shore (at the beach, for those non-jersey folks!) with one of my good friends. I will be drawing with sand between my toes.... jealous? lol
I am excited - it never really feels like summer till I stand in the ocean!
