toooooo long!
The "tooooooo long" subject to this post refers not only to my lack of recent posts, but also the ridiculous length of this one! Sorry!

I am still drawing of course. My scanner isn't hooked up at the moment, but I think at some point I will get around to that. I have a couple of drawings I would love feedback on!
I'm also still watching anime like it's my job!

Since my last post, I finished Fate Stay Night - and it was amazing! The characters were cool, the plot was quick-paced, and the animation was slick. Go watch it!

My sister and I also finished Noein, which was a nice change for us, since we usually don't watch much sci-fi anime. No, correction - we do watch anime with sci-fi overtones. Chobits, Evangelion, Elfen Lied. And I guess if I include Eva because it's mecha, I would have to include Magic Knight and Escaflowne? So my point was that we usually like fantasy/magical girl anime but I guess I can't really say that!

So what anime genre is your favorite?

My sister and I have also started His and Her Circumstances, which was suggested by another Otaku member. It is funny and touching and cute! It is a typical love-hate story, with laughs and sighs and awwwwws.

Also finished Paradise Kiss, which I love love love! The characters, the plot, the humor, everything about it was spot on! Like a season of Project Runway, only edgier and more personal. I want to do some Parakiss fan art soon.

And of course, since we are CLAMP addicts, we're in the middle of xxxHolic and eagerly waiting for the next DVD to come out. The same goes for the next DVD of Tsubasa. Oh, and we've started Code Geass (which I know is on AdultSwim, but I prefer to watch the DVDs. That way, if I fall asleep, I can always watch it again!) We finished watching Angelic Layer. Keep 'em comin' CLAMP!

We're also watching Kyo Kara Maoh, which you may notice is one of the sponsors on theO. It is great! We're only just about to start the second season, but it only took about 3 episodes for us to be hooked. There is a little bit of a yaoi tone in the beginning. That may not be your thing, but it is humorous more than serious, and by the time the plot kicks in, it takes a back seat. Young Yuri is a typical Japanese school boy who gets flushed down a toilet only to discover he is a Demon King. Adventure and laughter follows. Check it out! You won't regret it!

I've also watched Vexille and SteamBoy. SteamBoy is sort of a must-see. The characters are ingratiating and the animation is flawless. Vexille was also good - sharp animation, interesting plot - but a little more action-oriented that most of the anime I like.

Oh, and then there is Rozen Maiden, Wedding Peach, Somedays Dreamers, and Spiral!

Rozen Maiden is about adorable yet creepy-but-not-in-a-Chucky-kind-of-way dolls who battle each other. The dynamic between the two main characters is very similar to the dynamic between Kohei and Hazuki in MoonPhase.

Wedding Peach is your typical light-hearted magical girl anime. The characters are stereotypical, the plot predictable, the jokes are mostly canned puns. Still, it was a fun watch and of course, concludes with a neat little happy ending!

If you like Haibane-Renmei, then you will love Somedays Dreamers. I read reviews which said it was a mix of Harry Potter and Sailor Moon. NO WAY! It's more dialogue driven, there isn't a clear-cut villian, and very little romance. It is about a young girl studying magic, who does, in turn mature as she learns about herself and faces challenges. In that sense they are similar, but don't expect SM or HP from this anime. Somedays Dreamer doesn't need to be like either because it is strong enough to stand on its own.

Spiral is awesome! If you like mysteries, puzzles, traps and plot twists, you will love Spiral! Every episode kept me on the edge of my seat - sharpened my wits. It was fun and dangerous and intense. Sort of like the Saw movies, only not scary or gross. Just, you know, intense and puzzling.

Seems like all I do is watch anime, but keep in mind that's about 6 months worth of watching.

And of course, keep the suggestions coming!
