Code of Ethics
This is a little mini paper for my ethics class. It can't even be considered a paper, considering that it's only 500 words. Maybe... an 'essayette'?

Considering my newfound goal in life, I figured that I'd read up on the code of ethics for journalists. It's really pretty basic--seek the truth, interpret the truth, and deliver the truth while maintaining respect for yourself, the public, and other journalists.

It also says to be free from obligation.

I guess that means that I should work on letting go of the cynicism that makes my freshman and sophomore English teacher stray away from teaching junoirs and seniors.

Besides, a journalist should be objective and unbiased. When I was in Middle School I prided myself over having that very quality.

What happened?

Did I just grow up? Did I become jaded somehow? Is this cynicism natural for a 17 year old to have?

I only know that this is a problem, and one that I must get over.

Maybe I should start striving for the standard set by 'muichi motsu'.
