Tech Talk
Okay, I'm not the religious sort, but I am a tech person at the church my family goes to. As a tech person, I normally help out with the weekly service and any extra shows the choirs may have.
I work the robotic camera, and I know a little about using the light board. It may help me later when finding a job.
Anyway, we have a goofy crew in the Tech Room, and it doesn't help that out head tech is also the Deputy Chief of the Clearwater Police Department. We have people from everywhere in that job, such as my mom who is currently a college adjunct professor and a Music Therapist, and Mr. Bill Carns, the head of the business department at the church.
It can get wild up there sometimes.
Let's see...I've since done two Christmas shows for the kids, two Christmas Cantatas that the music Director, also the Chorus director at my high school, plans every year. I've also done two Fourth of July Cantatas--again, the same guy as the other cantatas--and a production of Godspell by the youth.
It was all fun.
However, a sorta famous Christian music group came to the church a couple of years ago to do a show.
That group is called Jump 5.
Ever heard of them?
Anyway, they were fun to do the robotic cams on. It was all very fast paced, and they kept on jumping out of my shots.
My analogy: Try playing Afronova on Heavy Mode, and then you might understand. Tricky, yes, especially seeing that I can barely do Afronova on Light Mode.
So, I don't mind doing all of this tech work for my church, even if I am probably one of the least religious, and most egoistic, people you'll meet.
Besides, there's free food for the techs.
