Homecoming Is Just Kewl
Memorial vs. Kennedy.
Guess who won. that's right, we did. *points to Kennedy shirt with a cocky grin*
It was our game the whole time. We were *insert our score here*-0 up until the 3rd quarter where they got a touchdon and a field goal. The score was 27-7 in the end. It was perfect football weather also. November 7th, 2003 in San Antonio. Couldn't have picked a better day or place for a football game. When I last check the temp on mai comp in mai comp. class, it said 52 degrees F. That was at 3:15. Imagine how cold it got when the sun set? I'm sayin between 45&50 with a nice wind blowing. Oh yeah, cold weather at a crowded football game with friends that are just a lil less insane as you are (a little )
Oh yeah, before I forget, thanks Michaelangelo (spell check!). It does suck that our team got disqualified. But hey, we took our anger out on Burbank, realized we were better people than Lanier (even tho we lost), and took out our anger at losing to Lanier on Memorial. We're fine. We had extra support, from Alumni, radio stations, Church's Chicken, strangers, Memorial, and others. We can always try next year.
Anywaiz, the Kennedy-Memorial game is our last game and our homecoming game. This year, my mom & I made 4 mums. She made 2 big ones (I mean huge, the boarder around the mum was at least 6, maybe 7, inches in diameter.) for me and my friend, one smaller one for my other friend and another small one for my other friend. She charged $15 for the big one (except for me) and charged $12 for the small one. She made one of my friend's mums for free because she's a great person who does things for us and asks nothing in return, she's always been there for us and she's so damn nice! ^.^
I'm sorry, I heard somewhere that the mum tradition for homecoming is only limited to Texas. If it's true, I'm sorry. Ya'll were probably thinking "What the hell is she blabberin about? Mums? What are mums? This girl's crazy." Well I'm sorry. If ya'll don't know, a mum is a flower (a chrysanthemum to be exact). And around the time of a high school's homecoming, craft stores (like Hobby Lobby and Michael's), start selling ribbons in lotsa different colors with school names, and mascots on them, fake mums, bells, little football players, helmets, cheerleaders, dancers, bears, #1's, Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior representation stuff, and more things. People buy them, glue the mum onto a round (unlimited # of mums, mainly 1), oval (usually 2 mums), or heart shaped boarder (usually 3) and glue them ribbons between the bottom of the mum and the baorder. Then they either give them to their kids or sell them and whoever has one wears it all day homecoming day. It is pinned to their shirts, usually at the top left or right corners of the chest but if you have 3 or 4 mums, well, they'd be all over the place.
Anyway, I have a few more pictures left on my camera, I'll take more detailed pics of my mum and see if I can post them soon. ^.^ It looks real nice. I like it, mai mommy & I are so creative.
