Well, so this is my first "official" Otaku post. I suppose I should make it count and leave all... "readers" a good impression. I'm not the best at art and proportions of the bodies I draw are usually very off, but I thought I should share anyways. As some of you may know, I'm the webmistress of the Cresentsun Vagabonds site. So, I think I'll post some of my most recent works and those would be some character drawings.
This first one was done a while ago, but I thought it would be worth mentioning. I affectionately call it the "CSV Zoo" picture. I wanted to try and draw the four main girls in costumes that represent an animal that (in my mind) best describes their personality.
First is Kaolla. I was going to draw a wolf costume, but then that would have been way too obvious and boring because she's already a wolf. So, I thought of her personality traits. She rushes into situations and is hot-headed-- so, a bull came to mind. Do not minding the gender implications-- no one's ever heard of an angry milk cow charging someone. Next is Isis. She was pretty easy to get. Flirty, alusive-- foxy. Next was Sango. She's smart, cool, calm, mystical even. I made her dress like an owl. Any one else getting those Labyrinth flashbacks? I know I am. Then Sid. She's my character and I just chose a moth because she's a "moth drawn to flame." She's self-destructive.
There's a lot of the costume and hair and shoes that resemble hides/paws/claws/tails/etc of the animals, so look close, hm?
Then there's these pictures of Sid. This was a recolor of some work I did previously on Paint:
I call the blue one with stars the Glitter Gone Bad pics. I was just trying out coloring on Photoshop and I was pleased with how it turned out.
This next one is of my other characters named Thomas, or, just Tom as he is regularly called (He's also sometimes called Peter or Cottontail XD). Now, before you check him out, I would like to tell you about him. He's an elf that was found and adopted and raised by an elderly couple. He's a total farm boy, lacking the grace of his... let's say... "natural" kind. He's more human and he likes it that way. Polite, sweet, and good with medicine, he can pitch hay faster than most of the kids he knew growing up. He is an "only child" and he grew up a real sweet guy. He loves his parents, they love him, and he regularly sends money home to them to help them along. However, these pics were an experiment on Paint (Yeah, Paint, the same thing I used on the Zoo pic above) to see what he would look like... if he went a little wild and broke out of his shell/went mad. Regularly he would:
a) Have long hair
b) Have no eye tatts
c) Not have peircings
d) Not have the little soul patch and
e) Be wearing something-- he's modest.
But well... Here he is!
Oh my. Well, I should explain... THIS is what he started out as. Just a really simple sketch, meant to be a throw away. But, I liked the way he looked so I kept going. Then I got this a couple steps later:
Then...:
...More steps later. Then!:
Of course, there are a lot more steps than those few pics (54 to be exact. I save every step because I like seeing how it went along). If you want to see the entire little "creation of wild Tom" check out this vid:
Thanks for reading. :)
