Lost and Alone
I’ve suffered wounds,
That will not heal.
I think I’m in love,
That’s the deal.
I’ve grown lonely,
Without you here.
I’ve grown lost,
Without you near.
There’s a hole in my heart.
I think meant for you to fill.
Friends have used me,
And deep inside I’m hurting, still.
My loneliness has never been-
So over my head.
These thoughts never taunted me,
Giving me nightmares instead.
Now that I’ve met you,
I don’t know what to say.
Let’s start out as friends
And follow our paths leading the way.
Who knows when we’ll cross?
Will you know me?
Will I know you?
How will we be?
I wonder each day:
What if I didn’t get to talk to you?
What if we were thinking the same thing?
Do you have these feelings for me too?
My little friend says an, “I don’t know…”
Is close to a yes.
(Err) All this confusion is getting me dizzy!
It’s making my life and I a mess!
Please just let me know,
