I'm updating again. It's too bad to see MyO go down like this, it seems that people hate it now, they don't stop by here anymore! ;_; *is sad* It's a pity... I'm a bit guilty too, I've been too lazy to visit these days XD I've been mostly on MT, submitting stuff - I finished some wallpapers around the same date and I want to submit them, but I don't want to be ridiculous, submitting 3 or 4 a day! So I have to wait a few days, then I'll have more to submit etc. >_< If you knew how many projects I have on the line, you'd be shocked... Just to say a number, they're more than 30.

In other news, I went to the Bran castle yesterday, with my mom and Marina (one of my best friends). Her mom was supposed to go too but she couldn't because she had to attend a funeral or something like that. My mom got the chance to go on that trip for the second time (!) because she's an accountant and the sector's Mayor (I live in #2, Bucharest is divided into 6 sectors) gives away free trips to people who contribute to the well-being of the community *is already disgusted* I hate politicians who get 'closer' to people in the year of elections.

Background explained, it was pretty fun. There was some hiking involved, up to Râşnov and to Bran. I hate it when people here (in Romania mostly) use the legend of Dracula (who, by the way, never existed!) to sell things. Though I did buy a T-shirt with a bat logo and with 'Dracula' written on it ^_^' Too bad I can't take a picture of it, I'll scan it and post a pic (lol, scanning my t-shirt XD): T-shirt logo. I like it :)

So, basically, I took a lot of pictures (37) and I hope to have them ready as soon as possible so I can post them here ^_^ The only downside of this trip was the fact that the bus we traveled in (#2 out of 9) was full of old people and me and Marina had to listen to old folk music o_o By the way, we were sitting near the speakers and the music was set to maximum. And the old women in the bus were clapping their hands really loud and making a noise! >_<" I hated that because I don't normally listen to music that loudly.

Well, I guess this be all :] I'll soon update the Creative Paradox with an article about films (when I write it XD). Hey everyone! Long time no see! I haven't posted for almost 2 weeks! Not that there's anything new to say, everything has been ordinary... I have a new World, you can visit me here to read more important stuff, I'll reserve this place only for...let's call them mundane updates. So, the other blog is Creative Paradox and I'll be talking about more important issues there ^_^

I have to do some projects for school: one for Geography class (we're doing projects to avoid a test o_O), one for something along the lines of Business (I don't know the exact name for it) and one for Music class. For the Business class project, we had to advertise a product (made up by us), so me and Nico met yesterday at her house and we finished it! It had to be funny and witty, so we thought about advertising an insurance company. Nothing extraordinary, right? But I came up with the idea of a free transport to the cemetery and a coffin at half its price! Sadistic much? XD I wonder if people will like it *hopes they will*

Aside from finishing this project, we watched Everything is illuminated and It's a boy/girl thing. To be honest, I absolutely hate Elijah Wood's looks (sorry, fan girls, but I think he looks like a geek), along with Tobey Maguire's. But I thought he was excellent in the role of a Hebrew American man who sets out on a journey to discover his grandfather's past (in Everything is illuminated). Personally, I find foreign movies charming and this one was no exception. You should check out Emir Kusturica's films, they're wild!

I was complaining about the new TheO in my last post, but now I'm getting used to it. I still don't think it's the greatest thing in the world and I will never abandon my MyO blog, but it has its good sides and I'll grow accustomed to them as time goes by. I hope we'll be able to post more images in one post, that would be neat ._.

Other than nothing new has really happened ._. My life's become boring nowadays. I'll just end it here, I guess, there's no point in ranting more. Have a great week, everyone! :)

Mood: confused. Very! @_@

Hey everyone! I guess you can say my hiatus is over. I couldn't leave for good, could I? ^^ This post I will discuss the hottest topic of the moment, concerning the VV. Both good and bad points (in my opinion, of course). I'll be talking only only about the VV, unless I specify it.

First of all, it's very nice to see a change has been made. I felt TheO was 'old' and needed a complete makeover ^_^ It looks friendly and appealing. GREAT!

However, I didn't like the fact that a FAQ isn't available. I have a few questions to ask and don't know who to ask! The categories are well administrated LOVELY! but I really would like a link to a proper FAQ at least on the front page. HORRID!

bbCode in posts? Woot! Welcome links, goodbye long descriptions made even longer by the fact that you had to post the entire URL to a site/image. VERY PRACTICAL!

Despite this, I noticed you can't post more than one image in a WORLD post. Furthermore, it has to be .JPG. Ok, I really hate that. I tried every possible bbCode combination and couldn't get any image to show, which annoyed me a lot. I plan to use my WORLD as a resource blog but it seems I'll delete it if I can't post images (I don't even want to post big ones, I want to post measly little avatars!) MAJOR BAD!

I like the fact that the worlds have nice color schemes. I'd like it even more if we could actually do more to customize them and make them look more personal, not so 'standard'. Long live the ol' Post Styles option. SO-SO...

Where did the friends list go? The back room is poor in options and I don't know where to find anything! I need someone to draw me a map of this place... How can I keep up with my friends' updates? There is NO list of friends! BOTHERSOME!

I like the fact that more people can edit one WORLD. Makes me think of a group ^^ GOOD!

And last but not least, something to liven things up: higher resolutions for wallpapers!! *is very excited* Honestly, this is the only option I was waiting for. The others I can live without. Long live high-res walls! EXCELLENT!

This about sums up what I have discovered in one day. Feel free to share your complaints here ^^ The more the merrier! Lol joking. I do hope things will be better and I'll get the hang of it. I feel like a newb ;_;

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for the comments on my last post, I got so many! I haven't had this many in a while. Nice to hear from you again, 9Breaker ^_^ And I've got 2 new friends, Lys and ShiroiAngel16! *hugs them* Thank you for being my friends!

The ultimate threat: no Internet!!
Perhaps some have noticed I haven't been replying to PM's or commenting much lately. That's all because of the [CENSORED] Internet connection! I don't know if I mentioned it in my last post, but it's been acting up again. One day I woke up with 1 GB speed! Of course, it wasn't even 10 MB, but that's what was displayed >_> Then they came to their senses and it was back at 100 MB (of course, I still don't have 100 MB, it's just for show). I do believe they're testing something, and I have to get caught up in this! Everything nasty happens to me >.< It's strange though, because my other classmates are experiencing problems with their connections too, and we have different Internet service providers >.>

However, all this has had a positive effect as well! During my time of isolation I've scanned a lot of stuff -my dad brought me 2 calendars (one of 2006 and the other of 2007) with gorgeous pictures: one with mountain landscapes, the other one with textures (= more resources for the Corner of Art ^_^)! I haven't put up all the galleries yet, but you can still check out the W.I.T.C.H. galleries :] I've put up a new gallery, with small pictures (they're quite large, but they're smaller than posters and covers).

Listen to me, this is me speaking from experience. Never, and I mean absolutely never, tell your Internet connection to "die". I did that several times a day and look at the result...

English competition: before and after
Today I had to attend the second phase of the English competition. For you to understand this better, I'll explain a bit about Bucharest: it's quite a large city, divided into 6 sectors (I live in #2), and this phase was the "sector phase". The next one (which I highly doubt I'll make) is the "city" one. I suck at explaining ._. These things are usually early in the morning, so I had to get up at 7 a.m. =.= I'm a wreck at that hour, I can't even walk straight. Furthermore, I think I had a fever, because I had a huge headache (yesterday my head hurt all day long) and I was grouchy and not in the mood for talking or communicating.

Something else I have to explain is that these competitions are supposed to start at a certain hour (this one at 8:30) but end up starting waaay later (9:30, in this case). So I was extremely annoyed at all the people in the classroom, because my head hurt and they were making a lot of noise >o< Luckily, I had brought a book with me and read until the papers arrived.

Another thing that annoyed the living daylights out of me was the fact that there usually are people who try to cheat by asking others. The guy who was on my right whispered "hey!" to me when the supervisors weren't looking and wanted me to tell him what the answer to a question was! How impolite! I did tell him, just to get him off my back. And I was right in the middle of a crisis, because my head hurt like mad and I had to finish a formal letter of application and I had no frickin' ideas! I hate those things!

We had 3 hours to solve the subjects, but I used only half of the time. I was feeling too bad to continue or check what I had written, and left as soon as I finished writing. The friggin' formal letter had to be 300-words long!! The others complained they had no room to write (only one sheet available for the letter), but it was enough for me (might just be my tiny writing >.>) Anyway, I got home and went to bed, since I was feeling too bad to do anything else. I slept for 2 hours and felt better after waking up :] That's the reason why I'm able to write this post now :]

Full view and be amazed! Now, the vectoring might not be top notch, but the coloring sure does the trick ^_~ Robin looks like a downright Western outlaw and the whole wallpaper looks like those posters you see on saloon doors in old westerns. Textures are fitting and the colors are bold, without being too disturbing.
Congrats on a job well done, Kelsey-san! Keep up the good work and hopefully we'll see more vectors from you! ^_^

I'm so sorry this post is so long! I'm surprised at the fact that most of the stuff happened in only one day >.> I think this was a break from my hiatus, but I don't know if I'm going to leave this state. You'll still find me around, responding to PM's, commeting on posts and occasionally on wallpapers and submitting works. I hope everyone is doing well ^_^ Oh, and as a last word, how did V Day go for you? (you can skip this question if you want to) As for me, it was a normal day. I'm still a loner, but I'm glad to have my friends ^^ I'd never leave my friends. For anyone. *hugs everyone* Hope the next week will be awesome for you! Bye bye! ^_^

Long time no see!
Ah well, I haven't been posting for a while... Almost 2 weeks, I believe... Thank you, Kelsey and Shadows, for commenting on my last post ^_^ It's strange how I have 8 people on my friends list now... I think those new people who come and read my profile (if they bother to do that!) must think "wow, now there's an antisocial person! So many people signed her guest book and she has only 8 friends!" Well, it's true. I don't have many friends, but I love the ones I have!

So I won't be posting very often, but I will be replying to PM's and guest book posts, and I'll still be commenting on wallpapers ^_^ (though I'm not sure that's a very good thing for others...)

In the same topic, I think I won't be around too much. Posting, that is. I don't know, I've mentioned this in my previous posts maybe, but I feel things are getting monotonous around here. I've had it waiting for the VV, especially since they're not specifying an exact date. It sounds promising, but how long are we supposed to wait for it?
Oh well, enough complaining about that...

More movies! Yay...
This week, with the vacation and all, I was able to see more movies with my dear friend Mary <3 (her name is Marina but I call her Mary for short ^^) We finally watched Jaws and I'm pleased to say it was great! Trust me, new horror films are shnit compared to it. Hitchcock knows his theory ^_^

Phantom of the Opera was also on the 'menu'! This is the 3rd time I've seen it, and I never grow tired of it! Though that Raoul guy still pisses me off >.<" But Gerard Butler looked sexier than ever!! <3 (lol inner fan girl resurfaces!)

And no to mention Sweeney Todd: the demon barber of Fleet Street! I've always loved Tim Burton's films, and I knew I would love this one the moment I saw the setting! I'll say this the n'th time: TIm Burton + Johnny Depp = love (movie love, naturally!) And Helena Bonham-Carter was exquisite in the part of Mrs. Lovett! I'm currently downloading the soundtrack, which is more than I expected! (a.k.a. really good) Frankly, I've seen a lot of people complain about Johnny Depp's singing, but I find it pretty good for for someone who doesn't sing for a living! If you don't mind some fake blood here and there, this is a must-see! The dark humor is awesome, I enjoyed it a lot!

Ok, I'm incredibly lazy now and I've already commented it on AP, but I can't overlook it ^_^
Notice the delicate fonts used to create balance between the foreground and the background; without them, the wallpaper would have looked like a character slapped on a background.
Also, take a look at the original scan: light colors, peaceful-looking girl. There's a big difference in the final result, and a good one too! Usually, night-time wallpapers consist on only a character on a dark background with tons of star brushes.
And don't worry, Kelsey, the extraction is impeccable ^_~

Lol I know the tutorial's not much, but I thought I'd share my thoughts on the matter, especially since I discovered this method a few days ago :3
Kelsey You should see 'The Shawshank Redemption', it's a great movie! No wonder it's #2 in the IMDb Top 250! Thank you for liking my vector and yes, the title was inspired from the Flashdance 'What a feeling' song :]

The birthday bash that never took place
Yup, I didn't have a party. It was more like a quiet meeting between me and my best friend Nico. we watched the first episode of Death Note because she didn't remember anything from it, although we had seen it before.
Furthermore, I'm not a fan of those big parties ._. I'd have to keep everyone entertained and make sure no one gets bored or needs something, and I'm not too good at that. I'm more a spontaneous person, I do things when the moment is proper! I hate "planned fun" - who can have fun when you know it has to begin at [insert hour] and end at [insert hour]? Where's the fun in that?
So I didn't have a party, but the day was fun! We sang and danced to songs and other stuff like that :]

I'm sick...Literally...
Uh, this nasty Solomon virus! >.< I've been coughing and sneezing for 4 days now, but there's a sign of improving! Nico heard on TV that this is a new virus and hey! I have to be the one to catch it! I'm tired of blowing my nose every 10 minutes or so and coughing my lungs out every 5 minutes! Today I even had a fever and a head ache, but I took a pill of Nurofen (pain killer) and I felt better. It's also good against fever. Oh, did I mention I'm taking 3 types of pills? When will it end? T_T

But it isn't all that bad. Today I skipped Physics because I wasn't feeling good, but attended the rest of the classes. I never thought I'd skip Physics, the teacher is usually so strict and everyone's more or less afraid of him! I didn't go to Chemistry either, since I didn't want that idiot to make my grades drop again >,< Turns out he didn't show up until 10 minutes before the break, then started teaching the next lesson! Of course, he didn't note my absence.

Tomorrow I will skip Physics as well, I'm really not in the mood for it. Since the last 3 classes are Physics - History - Physics, me and Nico (she skips too) will be in the library reading some books during the first hour, attend History, then go home. I have a good excuse for skipping, and Nico says she doesn't want to get a bad mark for not knowing how to solve problems (I sure don't blame her, it's the same for me >_>).

What can I say, it drew my attention to it the moment I saw the thumbnail in the gallery :] Thumbnails aren't good in showing the quality of the wallpaper, but this one does it justice. You can see from the thumbnail that it's very sharp and clear, and you're not disappointed once you full view it.
Notice the clever use of brushes and the way they blend in, creating a complex abstract wallpaper. The bright, warm colours are also a big plus, making the other elements stand out.
This is not very important, but ones who like a bit of fan service can focus on the girl. By the way, the clarity of the character image is a huge plus for the overall effect!
Overall mark: 9/10] 1024x768 version recommended.

Ok, I'd better go to bed now! I'm tired of looking at this screen for so long >.< Makes my head hurt. I'd also like to add that I don't know when I'll post again, I've kind of wanted a break for quite some time. I sometimes get the feeling that things are getting a bit monotonous around here o_O... I hope it's just me, though!
Anyway, this might be considered a small hiatus, but I'll still be around commenting on posts and (maybe) submitting art.

HUGE CELEBRATION TIME!!!11ONE!
Today's my birthday! I just felt the need to get that off my chest lol XD I feel old! And I'm 'barely' 17! I'll have to get used to saying I'm 17 instead of 16 XD It was a very fun day, especially because I invited only my best friend Nico and we had pizza and watched 3/8 parts of 'The 10th Kingdom', the first episode of 'Death Note' (I got her interested in it! ♥ ) and 'The Shawshank Redemption'. We listened to, among others, the main theme from 'Ghostbusters' and 'The Phantom of the Opera'! It was really fun!

Yesterday we also had Music class and, according to an unwritten rule which states that a person whose birthday is coming up has to bring candy, I brought candy XD But I gave my classmates candies only after they sang me a good ol' 'Happy birthday to you'! XD Selfish? Maybe!

As for present, I got Harry Potter 7 (the book) from my parents, some sweets from my grandparents and a lot of stuff from my classmates: a sketch book (with a lot of paper! <3), a set of colouring pencils, a toy monkey (it's so cute! I called it Mango ^^) and 'Digital Fortress' by Dan Brown (I've never heard of this book, but Nico said it's good).

Ok, so I've decided to not necessarily host the best wallpaper of the day I happen to post in, but rather ones that caught my eye or ones which I think deserve more recognition.

This 'edition' is a wallpaper done by Angel Zakuro. It has no connection with the fact that she is a very good friend of mine. I will plug it for the sheer awesomeness, as I wrote in the description as well XD
Notice the bold brushes used. And let's not forget the cold-warm contrast between the character and the background, which adds to the overall complexity. If I could describe it in two words, I'd call it "abstractly passionate". Maybe because that's what it inspired me at first :]
Don't miss it! Even though I'm not a Loveless fan, I love this, and I suggest you check it out as well. You won't be disappointed!

Well, this time there are 2 works I present here: one is a wallpaper of Matsuri and Aono (from the anime 'Sola') on the left, and the other is a fan art by me. You can see what I think about each of them in the description ^^ Oh, you don't have to comment on them if you don't want to. I appreciate all the comments on the wallpaper, thank you for your honest opinion on my wallpapers, dear Kelsey! You should have a title: Otaku Reviewer! I wish there were more rankings here...

OMG I'm not ded! :O
It's true. The shocking truth has been revealed! I. Am. Not. Dead! That goes to show people CAN survive school after holidays! Of course, it wasn't easy, as you will see below, if you continue reading :]

It wasn't that bad, though!...
It really wasn't! I managed to get a 7 in Chemistry (yes!!), when I "helped" the teacher present a new lesson >,< He could have given me an 8, though, but nooo, it has to be a 7 (I have an other 7)! I'm not complaining, though, it's pretty good this way too!

Today I had Music class, which was ok. Music classes are always fun ^^ This time the teacher graded us according to singing (alone!). I had to sing Cielito Lindo (a song which everyone hated, because we had sung it so many times before ><). THEN! Big surprise! I managed to persuade Nico in singing The Phantom of the Opera with me, in front of the class!! I asked the teacher if we could, and she quickly told the others "Ssh! Be quiet and listen!", so I'm guessing she knew the song ^^ We sang pretty good (as a duet, like the song is), and everyone applauded us from the heart! It was quite a moment!

Oh, and to finish off on a lighter note, me and a few others also had to take a test in Biology, because we had only 1 mark and we need 2. It was easy, and the teacher left the classroom for about 5 minutes! Probably to allow us to copy from others, to get at least a 5! I like her when she's like that, even though it's not "legal" XD

...is done by Sakura Kokoro, a waller I don't know much about but whom I have consideration for ^^ I like her wallpapers because they're not only starry, they're also well put together!
This wallpaper is from the series Fate/Stay Night, and is no exception. Even though the color scheme is relatively odd, SK managed to pull it off beautifully with neuter colors. If you download it, you won't be sorry, trust me!

Especially because of how he looks here! <3 I got Nico to like him too, and she says she wants to watch Death Note too! *is happy because she convinced someone else to join the ranks* So, seeing as I'm currently obsessed with Mikami & DN, my February layout will probably be with DN ^^"

Ah, it feels so good to be back! I have to say, I missed you all! I returned from the mountains yesterday, but couldn't post due to being too tired for it. I hope everyone has had (and is having!) a great time on your winter breaks! But I'll find out, now I have no excuse for not visiting/commenting XD

The trip - not quite an adventure... + movie chronicles!
I am so ashamed of myself. If you go to the mountains, you go skiing and the likes, right? At least that's what pops up in the minds of most people when they hear the words "winter" and "mountains". Well, that's not how it happened to me. Basically, I did go sleighing on the slope - and I've got the bruises to prove it! I tried the rough side of the slope, with ice and little "hills" XD Some speed!
And that's about it! The rest of the time I spent watching TV! Not even drawing or reading (I did read part of a book, but not as much as I normally would)! Here are the movies I watched:
1. Forrest Gump (kind of left me pondering)
2. Scent of a Woman (I loved it)
3. Peter Pan (with actors, not the animation)
4. The Polar Express (very cute!)
5. Voyage of the Unicorn (produced by Hallmark; it was cute but not as good as The 10th Kingdom)
6. When Harry Met Lloyd (big LOL)
7. The Big White (reasonable dark comedy!)
8. Ruthless People (now this I recommend to dark comedy fans!)
9. Incognito (quite interesting, it is about a forger than duplicates paintings by famous painters)
10. Singin' In The Rain (I couldn't remember it completely, so I watched it again; some parts had me laughing out loud!)
11. Dangerous Beauty (I found it intriguing; about a courtesan from Venice)
12. The Hot Chick (I don't like Rachel McAdams, but Rob Schneider was great in the part of a woman!)
13. The Assassination of Richard Nixon (no assassination, but that's not the point; I found it very random in some parts, but I agree with the main character in a few situations)
14. Big (it was nice, but not too bright or eye-catching)
15. Kate & Leopold (interesting premise, but turned out to be just another romantic comedy)
16. Back to the Secret Garden (I have the first book, never read it, never seen the first movie, but I understood the plot; quite nice, I liked it)
17. Ice Age (I finally watched it! Needless to say, I loved it! Can't wait to see Ice Age 2)
18. What Women Want (vain guy who, thanks to a weird coincidence, is able to read women's thoughts - aside from this, it doesn't stand out too much from the rest)

Further plans for 2008!
Regarding the posting system, since this post is already too long, the next one will have a "featured wallpaper" section :] Completely free of charge, I will recommend whatever artwork I think deserves to be nominated! I don't know if I'll include a small description as well, I'll think about it. Pixie (my cat) scared me!
She scared me because she couldn't breathe properly, she made sounds like people who have pneumonia! That happened last night, when I arrived home. I didn't tell at first, but it was more and more obvious and I started to panic, thinking my grandmother (who took care of Pixie while we were away) had locked her in the balcony one night by mistake! It happened before, but back then it was summer time - now it's winter, and the temperature has decreased to below -5 during the night!
Luckily, she feels better now. Maybe it was just because she was scared of the fireworks (there were a lot and made a lot of noise, so it's understandable). I'm so happy, I don't want my little puffball to feel bad *glomps Pixie*

Uhm, yeah XD I'm glad you liked my wallpapers, Kelsey! And I'll be sure to comment on your posts and wallpapers, to make up for the ones I missed! (I'll comment on your other wallpapers as well)
