He's updating?!!11?111?!?!1?!... 1.
Yeh, well, it's been long enough. :/ I can never find the time to post such long and great stories or rants like Shin or Sen or whoever, so I never went back and finished my last post.. and stuff. Oh well. I had to post today, though, because, you know, it's my birthday and all so I felt like giving you guys an update. Finally I have turned 17 so I can go see R rated movies and buy M rated video games at last! >:O Next.. well.. what other ages are there to look forward to? O_o Besides porn at 18 (XD I HAD TO SAY IT!), I don't and won't smoke and drink, so yeah. Damn, I'm pretty happy right now at this age.
Not much has been happening with my life since I went back to school. It's a brand new school, so that's pretty cool, and since I'm taking at least 3 AP classes (in my case, 4) I have a study hall period where I do my homework or nothing if I don't have any. The only problem is, I'm already starting to get kinda lazy in my homework, and I might have some stuff due tommorrow but I'm not even sure. Damn senioritous. :o
I haven't found a job yet for the school year, but then again, I haven't been looking. I was going to start after my birthday, but I should also look at colleges. Anyway, I have plenty of money to last me right now, so it's straight. Speaking of things to buy, though, I'm anxiously looking forward to the Star Wars DVDs and DDR: Extreme, which conveniently come out a couple days after my birthday.
There's not really anything in the way of anime that I'm looking to buy right now. Hell, I haven't even seen a bunch of stuff I already have. I did start an anime club in my school though, which turned out very successfull (about 50 people), and it's a perfect oppurtunity to watch that anime, namely Samurai Deeper Kyo and X. Both seem pretty good based on what I've seen.
Hopefully I'll update more often, but I think this is good for right now.

Bleh Part 1
Lately I've been feeling pretty bored when I re-read what I post on myOtaku, much less when I first write them. I feel like I'm just stating one event after another, and more so hastily recapping what I've been doing than making it interesting for everyone else to read. Of course, making these damn things interesting takes a lot more time and space, something that in the end, I'm not sure is worth it. I guess that I often wait too long to post sometimes, which causes the events that I write about to get longer and longer, so I think that I'll be posting less of my life in each post to make it interesting without it being extremely time consuming. If anyone who still reads this has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
Phew.. now where do I start in describing my week? Staying with a friend at our beach house, going up to Ocean City to chill, or spending a day at the anime convention? I guess it's a great time to put my new technique to use!
If you happened to read my last post, you would know that I had quite an adventure last weekend with my friend Alex, and the only way to put the icing on the cake was to follow that up by a kick-ass week at the beach with my good friend Andrew, who I've known since I was born and whose dad my dad was friends with for a good 15 years before that. And not only put the icing on the cake, but maybe even top going to movies and climbing on buildings. But first I had to survive one agonizing obstacle: work.
I had permission to take off work on Tuesday to go to the beach for the rest of the week, but even one day at work is torture enough for someone like me, who hasn't had job in his life and now has to do heavy labor. <_< In the coming weeks, you'll probably be hearing a lot from me in the way of ranting about work, lol. On Monday, for example, the only day that I had to go to work for the week, I spent over 6 hours taking staples out of a previously-used awning with a screwdriver. O_O First of all, it was a damn pain to get one staple, but to do that for that long.. let's just say that as soon as it struck four, I clocked out asap and relaxed in the office, knowing that my job for the week was finally done. Damn, am I lazy. The funny thing is, once I got home from work, I went straight to the gym since I haven't been in a while and knew I wasn't going to get a chance for at least another week. XD
I woke up on Tuesday planning to watch some more of Noir, since I've been watching a lot of it lately, but I ended up spending basically the entire morning packing for the beach, and only got to watch about an hour of it before I had to leave. I'm trying a new technique with this anime that I kind of adopted from my English teacher last year. For the last book of the year, he had us take notes in a composition book on the novel The Great Gatsby, where we wouldn't necessarily jot down what happens in the story, since anyone can do that, but rather quick thoughts or questions that we had as we read. So with Noir, I found an old notebook and I've just been writing notes and questions on the series that I may eventually use to write a detailed general review of the series. Nothing official; just for personal enjoyment, and to have something to post on OtakuBoards, lol. It's been working really well, though, and I'm probably going to be using it on future series to, if nothing else, organize my thoughts.
At around 1:00 pm my dad got home from work, and after packing the car, we got on the road as soon as possible to avoid afternoon traffic. We ended up doing good for the most part, I think. I have no idea; I read 8 pages of one of my summer reading books and I was out for the rest of the 3-hour ride. XD So we finally got to the beach house located in Delaware, unpacked the stuff, and got the house ready for my friend, Andrew's, family.
More next time, folks. I better get to bed so I can wake up for work tommorrow. Hopefully this post wasn't as boring as some of my other ones. Not as much stuff, of course, but that information will come with time.

It's already been a month?
Summer really has been flying by, I guess. Not that I've been having a lot of fun; on the contrary: I'm working just about every week at this low-paying, hard labor job that I probably mentioned earlier. =_= Despite low-paying, however, I do work about 9 hours a day, so I end up making some money, but it all comes out of some really tough work. It doesn't help the fact that as time goes on, I get more annoyed with the people that I work with. *sigh*
This week should be fun, though. I only had to work today, since I'm going to the beach tommorrow and coming back Saturday. There, we'll be meeting up with some good friends of ours; this same friend who last year took me to those dance clubs in Ocean City. ;p I remember that one of the dance clubs had a row of computers, and that I kept checking news on theOtaku's newest feature, myOtaku, which means that we must be coming up on the one-year anniversuary! I wonder if Adam has anything planned.. :o
But before I get too caught up in what I'm going to do, I might as well share what I already did last weekend. I always try to use any chance that I get to hang out where I used to live, and this time I was lucky enough to hook up with my friend, Alex. We were originally trying to organize a meet at Six Flags, but his mom couldn't get him a ride, and the amusement park is at least a half hour away, between my house and his house, so it wouldn't be very practical if I picked him up. So I ended up just going to his house, and then hanging out at this really cool street mall downtown. The first thing that we did was catch The Bourne Supremecy at this brand new movie theater, and I must say.. I wasn't a big fan of the film. :/ I wasn't expecting much, for whatever reason; maybe I just didn't like the first one. After the movie, we went into the rest of the mall, ending up at the arcade, and low and behold.. DDR Extreme. :o Of course, being a Friday night, it was crowded as hell, and I finally got on after waiting about 20 minutes only to fail my first song on a 7-footer. ;_; I blame this on these three points:
1. I'm not used to the arcade version and pad.
2. The song was weird (it wasn't fast easy notes as much as strange ones).
3. A lot of people were watching. :o
I love to make excuses for sucking. :) Normally I can Ace a 7 foot song and pass an 8 foot, but as I found out from a guy that was AAing everything there, the timing is much different at home. In the arcade, you have to hit a perfect within a 1/10 second margin, and at home this number gives a lot better odds. This guy doesn't own the home version, however, so I hate to think how much he must have payed to get as far as he did. <.< According to him, he's been playing for three years. I wonder how good I will be 2 and a half years from now. :o
As soon as I failed the song, I knew I had to get the heck out of there, so I went to look for Alex in the food court where he said he'd be. Of course, as long as it took me to get on the machine, Alex had decided to come up to look for me, and by the time I figured my way downstairs and then back up, I would later find out that Alex had gone down again. >.< When we finally met up with each other, we went down to the food court to get something to eat. From what I can recall later, in the time that it took me to go to the bathroom and wash my hands, Alex had met up with a guy that he knew, and then the guy left leaving three of his friends who Alex had never met before, two of which were very attractive girls o.o So I got a pizza and a breadtsick and sat down at the table with Alex and these strangers to eat, lol. They seemed really nice, and as we were talking, Alex and I decided to see another movie before the night was up, assuming that we could get the tickets. So at around 8:45, we waved good-bye to the girls and guy, and went to get tickets for Harold and Kumar go to White Castle at 10:10. Me not being 17, Alex thankfully got away with buying two tickets, saying that one was for his girlfriend who was coming later. :o We didn't really have anything to do until the movie started, so we walked outside and ran into the people from earlier, though one of the girls had already left. The girl that remained was arguably the more attractive of the two, who introduced herself as Leia (she introduced herself earlier, but whatever, I'm telling the story). The guy was an Asain dude named Paul, who I got the vibe acted slightly too nice. <_> So we talked with them for a while until two other guys (whose nameds I never really caught) showed up, and we found some seats outside of a resturaunt called Potbelly. Imagine the site: five guys and one really hot girl sitting around a table and talking. :o Hey, I'd be a little suspicious. :p That was at about 9:10, and we talked for a good hour before our movie started. As we were going up the escalator in the movie theater, my friend turned to me and said, "Well, she was nice." I replied, "Well, she was hot." He had been thinking the same thing, of course, and I tried to assure him that although she was really hot, the girl from my school that I had told him about before was even hotter, but he didn't believe me.
So we watched Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, and oh my God.. that was suck a fucking halarious movie. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard during a film, so if you get a chance, SEE THIS MOVIE. All we could say for the rest of the night was, "damn, that was an awesome movie."
The movie had let out kind of late, and as I was driving home I realized that it was past 12, a time that I was restircted to due to my provisional license. So Alex and I thought, why stop there? ;p We then went down to this handicaped school by my old house and used the interesting architecture of the building to climb up it and walk around. It was all going fine until my friend decided to walk across this one room that didn't really seem attached to the school. Before I know it, one of Alex's feet had fallen through the roof, and the material was dangerously close to calling completely under his weight. Slowly, he moved his way off the roof of what we now know was a green house, and onto a more solid roof. Getting down was another tricky business, but we found a way down eventually. :o
Next on our night of adventures, we visited my old backyard where we jumped around on this big rock as if it were 10 years ago, lol. That got kind of boring after a while, and we headed over to our old elementary school, where we climbed that roof and walked around a bit, lol. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any balls that kids had accidentily thrown or kicked up. >_< Keep in mind that there weren't any ladders to climb these buildings; we had to act like monkeys and use the surroundings to our advantage. ;)
Our last stop was our friend, Wesley's, house. He had a couple of people over there already just chilling, and we talked for a good hour and a half or so.In that time, Wes had pretty much gone through a pack of cigarettes, and we finally figured that it was time to get to Alex's house and go to bed.
All-in-all, I had an awesome weekend, which can only be topped by coming week. Not only am I going to be spending some time with the craziest guy I know, but Sunday marks the day that I'm going to Otakon, a local anime convention. ^_^

Gotta do it quick
Okay, I don't have much time to write this, since I'm going over to my friend's house tonight and I still have to take a shower and get out of these painting clothes. Pay day has finally arrived. :D They don't include Friday, though, so I got paid for Tuesday through Thursday, but I still can't complain. After cashing it into the bank on the way home, I was able to pay my mom back for the DDR pad and game that I ordered on Wednesday and still had some left over, so that's good. I told you before that they said it would take 8-10 days, but guess what? It came TODAY! XD!! So I'm going over to my friend's house now to try it out, as well as use the new game.
I feel like I've actually earned this money, too. Today, we had to finish sanding these rooms, and then we started painting. It's hard work, but I'm getting used to it.
Alright, my friend called and says that it's starting to thunder, so I better jump into the shower and change. Maybe I'll edit this later. lataz

Second day of work
Two days down, two days left for the week. o_- The work is actually a lot more than what I expected. Sure, you can say that all we did today was chip away paint chips and then paint. But with the paint chips, you never know when you're done, because you seem to get more and more whenever you go back, and we ended up working on it for about 4 hours. As for the painting.. well, it's quite a large building, lol, and we only got about 3/4 done with 4 people working on it for a few hours. Luckily, though, we got off early today because my friend's dad had to drop off a truck, and it was half way home anyway.
I've also apparently become the official driver whenever we need something. Need to get some paint supplies at the store? Gotta drive down. Need to drop off some paint down the street? Greg will do it! Need someone to follow the truk for when we drop it off? Greg, of course. Not that I'm really complaining, but this town that the shop is in is a really busy place, and a lot of places are really narrow, and often times I'll make a stupid mistake when driving and completely lose my credability as a safe driver. >_< Ehhh, I'll get used to it, I guess.
I also convinced my parents to let me order a RedOctane Ignition pad and Max1 off the net now and then pay them when I get my pay check. I had even more of a reason to do this when I found out that while they advertise free shipping for orders over $40, this form of shipping takes 8-10 days plus however long it takes them to ship it out in the first place. I looked into other alternatives, of course, but the next cheapest shipping cost $25. Ah well, I'm glad I ordered it now rather than later. >_<
Even with all the stuff I can buy with the money I'm making, though, I still can't forget that I have summer reading to do. -.-

It's official!
I now finally have a job. :D Yesterday, my friend's dad called up and asked if I could come in to his shop today, and I, of course, accepted right away. So at around 5:45 am this morning (=_=), I left to go to my friend's house and get a ride over. From 7 to 4 I work either in his real estate (which I should be doing for most of the time), or in his shop where he makes awnings and signs. While I was there, my friend's mom gave me these sheets that I had to sign to make the job official, and copied my drivers liscense since I'm going to be driving their cars, so I'm guessing that this probably won't be a job that I'll be doing for a week or two to make a quick buck, lol. Although, I can't really say that making a little money isn't my incentive. ;p In particular, I still need to pay my brother for half of the new PS2 that he bought, a DDR Ignition pad, DDR Max1, and some anime series for next year's anime club (Angel Links, Lain, Noir, RahXephon, and X). Everything else on my list, I better wait until my birthday or there won't be anything to get come September, heh.
It seems that even with the starting pay that I'm getting, I'll probably be able to afford everything on my list in as little as a week and a half of pay. Right now he's paying me 7 dollars an hour under the table for an 8 and a half hour day, but he might give me a raise depending on how well I do on painting tommorrow. At this rate, I could have the money everything in about 5 days of working, once you include the money I already have. :D But you guys don't care about that stuff anyway, lol. I just like to use these posts to put down my thoughts. As for the money I make after that, I think it's best if I put it in a bank account.
I guess that only other thing I haven't touched on yet is exactly what I'm doing in this job, of which I'm getting a lot of questions about already. Well, like I said, my work either covers fixing up the real estate, or working in the shop. Today, for example, I went into this real estate that they are trying to clean out, and went through sweeping up loads of dust that had accumulated there over however many months or years. I put the piles of dust into trash bags, along with other trash that was laying around, and took two or three trips in the truck getting it all down to the dumpster by the shop. AFter that.. I believe that we spent the rest of the day chipping away loose paint chips off of a wall that we're going to be painting tommorrow. It was a real bitch, because you didn't really know where you were done, but I suppose it makes sense because you don't want the chips falling off after you paint it, you know?
Ah well, I better be getting to bed pretty soon. It's 9:45.. God, I feel like my parents, lol. Having to get up really early so as to having to go to be really early as well. I also can't forget my boom box and my CDs so that we can have something to listen to while we work.

Kicking off the summer
Geeze, I dropped all the way down to #60 in the member list. Not that I can really complain with there being thousands of members, but seriously, folks. There are members like InuYasha Fan019 who haven't updated since March and show up on the first page! The only way I can explain it is that I guess it must have something to do with the Fan Art section, which means that I'll have to get back into my drawing mode again if I hope to raise my ranks. ~_~
On the plus side, though, summer is finally here! No more homework, no more stressing over exams, and no more of that damn school at all, all going towards more time that I get to update my myO. ...well, now that you mention it, I think I'm starting to miss school already. <_<
I've only been out for 3 days, but I haven't hesitated get into the mood. Right when school let out, I packed up and went to the beach with my family and my friend David for a couple nights, which was a lot of fun and included eating out and making the best down at the water when either the weather or the water was kind of chilly. On Saturday, we went straight from the beach to a baseball game, where we watched the Baltimore Orioles take on the San Fransisco Giants, for those of you who follow pro baseball. There, my brother met up with two of his friends, and they all came back to our house, where David and I didn't stay long. As soon as we got the directions, we headed back out to a party at my friend, Jimmy's new house to celebrate the end of school and merry shiney pants day (don't ask). Of course, I was the only one at the party who came wearing shiney pants, which came as a real inconveniance for me, since they had no pockets. Lazy God damned bastards. <_<
We got home pretty late last night, like around 11:40, so David decided to just spend the night at my house, and I was only too happy to oblige considering how sleepy I was (much like I'm feeling right now =_=). So then today we woke up and watched 28 Days Later, then I took him home and picked up a graduation card for a friend of mine who was having a party for the occasion at his house. As soon as I returned home with the card, we went straight on back out to the party, where we would eat and play basketball a lot, but were overall bored largely because of the shear amount of people there; you didn't have much time if any with the host.
We got home around 6, and after relaxing the rest of the time, I sit before you. And speaking of rest, I'm really tired. ~_~
Oh yeah, I think I might have found a job. My friend David's dad owns a car shop, and he's been talking about possibly hiring me. :) He pays 8 dollars an hour during a 7 hour workday, and since I really would only work there for a couple weeks, he can pay me "under the table", so no tax is deducted from that. I'm thinking about possibly taking off Sunday and working the rest of the week, which means that in order to pay for the things I need over the summer (mostly anime and video games and such), I'd need to work 5 days at the least, and the 12 other days would get me about $392 extra that I can put in the bank, or something. Plus, this will give me job experience, and I will actually be able to put on future job applications that I've worked somewhere else before. This is, of course, if David's dad ends up hiring me. The only bad thing: David says that depending on what you do, there might be a lot of hard labor. Hahaha, can you see me working hard labor? Hahahahahahaha... eehhh...

Not gone yet
I haven't posted in.. exactly a month, so I figured I'd drop in for a few words.
It's not that I haven't been doing anything that I can write about. In fact, it's more along the lines of me not having had any time to write any posts for a while, and if you don't know by now, I'm lazy. Inevitably, school has picked up strong these past couple weeks and started craming in homework and other assignments to get all the grades in before school ends. I think I've just about gotten to the point, however, where I can just concentrate on studying for the finals. The last thing I want to do right now is start to slip into summer-mode before it's over and do badly on these last couple things. Just get it out of the way so you can relax during the summer knowing that you ended the year on a good note. Just one more week to go, tommorrow being my last real day before finals. And as far as summer reading goes, I've always waited until the last minute to read the books, so this year I'm forcing myself to get that done EARLY. I got my summer assignment today, and right after school on the way to the dentist, I stopped by the bookstore and bought '1984' and 'Starship Troopers'. I have to do a project on one, and an essay test on the other when I get back, so I need to decided which book I'll read for which.
I got The Last Samurai on DVD last night. If you haven't seen it, you're missing out; it's really a great movie, in my opinion, especially if you have an appreciation for Japanese culture. Without saying too much about the movie, it actually takes place around the time of Kenshin, 7 years before or so to be exact. So in some ways, the title isn't true, heh. ;p
So yeah, that's about it. I don't really have much to say, lol.

:D
I've been waiting 6 months, and it finally happened! Since early November, the anime club in my school has been sponsor-less, and with no sponsor, there's no club. On Friday, a teacher of one of our members asked him whether anime club was still going, and when he told them that it wasn't, the teacher offered to sponsor us not once a week, but twice - on Wednesdays and Fridays. Not only that, but I talked to my English teacher, and he said that he'd let us use his room for the club meetings; we're talking a high-tech room with 8 tvs scattered around. @_@ This guy named Art is president of anime club this year, and I'm vice president with a guarunteed president spot for next year. I'm just so happy that we're finally getting this started again, heh. ^_^ It's so fun to be able to get together with your group of friends and just hang out watching anime and eating pizza every week.. or perhaps eat anime and watch pizza. <.< I found this all out on Friday, and our first meeting is this Wednesday.
On Saturday, I took a trip to New York City for my little brother's 14th birthday. We had to leave our house at around 5:45 am to get there for the 7:00 am bus ride, and I drove down seperately so that I could stay at my friend's house when we got back. The bus was very nice and roomy, and I even got 2 seats to myself. They played some chicks flicks on the way up, which I declined to watch, and had School of Rock and Italian Job on the way back, which I fell asleep watching. We ended up getting to the city at around.. I dunno, 11:30 or so, and got dropped off at this Farrarri show for the 50th aniversuary or something. We went to the NBA store, Nike store, and this Sony place first. The NBA and Nike stores were a lot of fun to browse, I thought (imagine living in new york and being able to say "I want to get some stuff for basketball season", or "I think I want some Nike stuff to wear". Crazy!!), but the Sony place was kind of boring. All you really did was examine different information center things. Not anything very.. "cool", like computers and PlayStation. After these places, we went to get lunch at this buffet place where I got, like, orange chicken, fried and white rice, and maccaroni and cheese. O.o Lots of walking. We browsed through these outside shops, and then got on the metro which took us [forever to get onto the thing, and then went] to this other place in NYC. More walking. At this Virgin Records store, I completed my Sublime collection with their second album, Robin the Hood, which, when you listen to it, sounds like they're testing out different sounds. o_O; Lots more walking. On our way to China Town, we stopped off to watch this professional street performer who was saying how he was about to swallow this really big sword. Half an hour later after all of these other crazy tricks and after he has gathered quite a lot of money from people in the crowd, he finally swallows the thing and we get out before the next performance starts. China Town was a lot of fun. Not only did it have stuff from China, but we found a store filled with (go figure) anime and gaming! :D They had about 8 different types of DDR pads, including 2 metal ones, and the walls were lined with anime and video games. It was all very cool. I also think China Town reminded me of how utterly attractive Asian women are. *cough* Despite a few leg cramps, at the end of the day I had a fun time. It was my second time in New York, and if I don't come back for a while, I do want to come when I'm 21 so I can see a comedy club, heh.
Nothing much else important happened last week. I got about 5 CDs from my friend consisting of Incubus and Sublime, and I was introduced to the web.. series, Red vs Blue. It's sooooo funny; you all should see it if you haven't done so yet. It's this spoof that these guys made using the Halo multiplayer game.

You know something that ticks me off? It's those rediculous freshman in high school who come in and think that they're suddenly all cool. Let me get straight to the point; there are a couple of these kinds of kids on my bus, and I find them to define the very pinnacle of the term 'prep'. Now, I'm sure all of you know the type, referring to my interpretation of it. Individuals who are 'preps' are those who live their life to live up to the standards of others; more to the point, their peers. They will do anything to fit into the "popular" group, ignorant to new ideas that conflict with their discriminating way of life. Nearly everything that they do isn't necessarily something that they want to do, it's something that will allow them to fit in and possibly get a few laughs out of another prep. They are very deprived and possibly have parents who don't pay them very much attention, so they seek this out elsewhere. They are also insecure of themselves, both in sexual preference and as a whole, and seek discrimination of others to feel better about themselves. Many people enter into this prep life through things that naturally get them noticed, such as sports, cheerleading, and drugs, and somehow feel that this makes them better than everyone else.
Why should I waste my time listening to someone who speaks of common sense and realistic thinking? Bah, those things are overrated! Ignorance is where it's at. Why do homework when I can still get by with a 60 in that general class? Read a magazine?! I just look at the pictures! Man, that Japanese pokemon stuff is so gay. What? Yes, of course it sleeps with other male Japanese pokemon stuff. I know just how I'm going to spend my perfect weekend! I'm going to go over to my friend's house and get fucking stoned, then get drunk and drive over to this girl's house and have sex with her and like 5 other chicks! Hell yeah! Let's just hope I don't succumb to alcohol poisoning because of the endless stomach I get from smoking pot, then I don't get into a car accident because of impaired vision and thinking, and then I hope I don't get any of the girls pregnet and/or get an STD, and wake up in the morning with a hangover and throwing up everywhere. Oh well, I should be fine.
..so why am I talking about this? That's a good question. Maybe I just needed to get something out of my system.
We now return.. to Syk3's boring life! :D ... >:D So on Friday afternoon I got a call from my friend David asking if I wanted to go canoeing with him and his brother. I wasn't doing anything else that evening, but I don't think I was really up for going out onto the water. Besides, it looked like it was going to rain, and hell if I would go out there during a storm. o.o I think he could kind of tell that I didn't want to go, so he offered going up to the mall and buying a new DDR pad since his was broken from his neighbor stomping on it a lot. If you know me, you'll know that I'm always up for driving, so I took him off on that offer right away. :p
Let's just say that it was a good thing that we weren't out there in a canoe. It was raining so hard that my windshield wipers were almost useless, and we kept running into puddles that soaked the whole car and made it impossible to see momentarily. By some miracle, we found our way to the mall, and got drenched running from the parking lot to inside. The first thing that we did was buy my friend's DDR pad. I don't quite remember which store it was, but it had either the totally awesome $100 RedOctane pad, or the crappy $20 MadCatz one. He ended up getting MadCatz, since he needed money for soccer cleats and regular shoes later on. After we bought the pad, we walked around the mall for a while looking for shoe stores, but found none that he liked well enough to check out the selection. Picky, picky. -.-; I went into (spare me, please!) Hot Topic for a second looking for a sticker of Incubus or Sublime or something for my new (and quite plain) wallet, but I didn't find anything that interested me. When we were walking back to the way we came in, we found this machine that cost 50 cents for 2 tries at stopping this arrow going around to get on a number that got the light to get up to Win. There were five steps that were below that, however, and you had to get numbers that would get you up all of those steps to the Win. And win, you would! They had GameBoy Advance games, a GameBoy Advance itself, PS2 games, and other nice stuff. And the games were good, too. I'm talking SSX3, Metroid Zero Mission, Soul Calibur 2, etc. Of course, we spent like 5 dollars trying to get it, but we never did. We got up to step 5 plenty of times, though. The machine is rigged! >:O So then these little 8th graders come up. LOL! They're like these punk kids who thought that the game was so easy, and left it up to one of their friends who was a "master" because, quote, "he plays video games." XD And then after they kept losing, they turned to us and were like, "we could easily beat you guys in basketball. We could beat you in a race, too. You wanna fight? We'll beat you up!" Me and David: O.o Here were these 5 foot tall kids says this to a 6 foot tall and 5 foot 7 kid with straight faces. *shakes head* What is today's youth coming to? Why do all of these challenges make a difference? lol
We left the mall after this small encounter and went to a shoe place nearby that David had been to before, and he bought some cleats and shoes. This kind of put us in an awkward position, however. Going to the small store set us off course, and when we started going where we thought was the right direction, we ended up going by things that we deffinitly did not remember. So we got off the beltway and were driving for a while, not truely knowing if we were going the right way, and luckily saw a sign for a street that we saw on our way to the mall because I was joking about the name to my friend - Davidsonville road. I swear, it was by bigger miracle that we got home than making it there in the first place with pouring down rain.
At his house, we broke out the new dance pad of his, and confirmed it's suckiness. When you dance, it feels like you're dancing on a plastic bag. :/ It didn't take that many songs before I got tired and finally went to bed on the couch.
That morning, we had to get up kind of early for my friend to go babysit somewhere and for me to warm up for my soccer game. The game was at 3:30 against a team with their best player being someone that usually plays travel and on school teams. I was actually surprised to see him in a rec league. Their team ended up winning with a score of.. a lot to 4. I had three goals, but I'm sure the travel kid must have had that many if not more. If that wasn't enough, we had another game on Sunday at 1, the earliest game so far this season. Luckily, however, we faced a fairly easy team, and won 10-4. Perhaps it wasn't so much that they were easy, but we were getting better at working as a team. I only had 2 goals this game, but I had 2 assists, and this one kid had 5 goals. I didn't care; this was the first game that we actually won! That makes 9 goals for me this season, though I won't be able to play next week because we're going to New York City for my brother's birthday. So if you live in New York.. watch out. :o
After the soccer game, my brother really wanted to see a movie, so he saw Man On Fire with my mom, and I saw Kill Bill vol. 2 again with my dad. I caught a few more things in the dialogue here and there, so seeing it again wasn't all worthless. Besides, I enjoy watching a movie multiple times. ^_^
I guess that just about covers it for the weekend. All that really happened today that was different than usual was that my teacher let us play my CD during computer class after showing him the lyrics on particular songs. It was the newest Incubus CD, if you're wondering. Oh! I almost forgot about my Physics lesson today, which I found very facinating. o.o It was all about the optical waves which deals with seeing light and everything. To start off, when you see color, you are seeing light being reflected off of an object. If you see someone with a red shirt on, you may percieve the shirt as being red, but it is actually absorbing every other color and reflecting red. So in reality, that shirt is every color except the color red. Black absorbs all colors, and white reflects all of them. That was the easy round. Next, he told us that light moves at a very fast speed, but it moves at a speed nonetheless. This means that light takes a certain amount of time to get to your eye, and the further you are from an object, the longer it takes for that light to reach your eye. Now choose an object across the room. That object is in the past. To a very small degree, being something like 10 to the -8 or something, you are seeing that object as it was that very short time ago. The sun is approximately 8 light minutes from Earth, which means that when you look at the sun, you are seeing it 8 minutes in the past. If the sun were to blow up, you couldn't see the explosion for another 8 minutes. The next closest star is about 86 light years away, according to my teacher, which means that when we look at it, we are seeing it as it existed 86 years ago. This branch of physics, according to him, does prove time travel as being scientifically possible, though currently experimentally impossible because of the tools we are currently using. The next thing that he told us is that because all you are really seeing it light, not an object, if you were to bend light like what you would see in a straw being half in and half out of water, you could make it so that light would go around and object, and you could not see it. Hence, he stated that it is also possible according to the laws of physics, to create a suit that makes you invisible to the human eye. According to him, such a suit is aparently under developement. Just imagine if the military got their hands on that..
Oh well, that's all for now. Quite a long post, I know. I don't blame you if you don't feel like reading it all, lol.
