You know something that ticks me off? It's those rediculous freshman in high school who come in and think that they're suddenly all cool. Let me get straight to the point; there are a couple of these kinds of kids on my bus, and I find them to define the very pinnacle of the term 'prep'. Now, I'm sure all of you know the type, referring to my interpretation of it. Individuals who are 'preps' are those who live their life to live up to the standards of others; more to the point, their peers. They will do anything to fit into the "popular" group, ignorant to new ideas that conflict with their discriminating way of life. Nearly everything that they do isn't necessarily something that they want to do, it's something that will allow them to fit in and possibly get a few laughs out of another prep. They are very deprived and possibly have parents who don't pay them very much attention, so they seek this out elsewhere. They are also insecure of themselves, both in sexual preference and as a whole, and seek discrimination of others to feel better about themselves. Many people enter into this prep life through things that naturally get them noticed, such as sports, cheerleading, and drugs, and somehow feel that this makes them better than everyone else.

Why should I waste my time listening to someone who speaks of common sense and realistic thinking? Bah, those things are overrated! Ignorance is where it's at. Why do homework when I can still get by with a 60 in that general class? Read a magazine?! I just look at the pictures! Man, that Japanese pokemon stuff is so gay. What? Yes, of course it sleeps with other male Japanese pokemon stuff. I know just how I'm going to spend my perfect weekend! I'm going to go over to my friend's house and get fucking stoned, then get drunk and drive over to this girl's house and have sex with her and like 5 other chicks! Hell yeah! Let's just hope I don't succumb to alcohol poisoning because of the endless stomach I get from smoking pot, then I don't get into a car accident because of impaired vision and thinking, and then I hope I don't get any of the girls pregnet and/or get an STD, and wake up in the morning with a hangover and throwing up everywhere. Oh well, I should be fine.

..so why am I talking about this? That's a good question. Maybe I just needed to get something out of my system.

We now return.. to Syk3's boring life! :D ... >:D So on Friday afternoon I got a call from my friend David asking if I wanted to go canoeing with him and his brother. I wasn't doing anything else that evening, but I don't think I was really up for going out onto the water. Besides, it looked like it was going to rain, and hell if I would go out there during a storm. o.o I think he could kind of tell that I didn't want to go, so he offered going up to the mall and buying a new DDR pad since his was broken from his neighbor stomping on it a lot. If you know me, you'll know that I'm always up for driving, so I took him off on that offer right away. :p

Let's just say that it was a good thing that we weren't out there in a canoe. It was raining so hard that my windshield wipers were almost useless, and we kept running into puddles that soaked the whole car and made it impossible to see momentarily. By some miracle, we found our way to the mall, and got drenched running from the parking lot to inside. The first thing that we did was buy my friend's DDR pad. I don't quite remember which store it was, but it had either the totally awesome $100 RedOctane pad, or the crappy $20 MadCatz one. He ended up getting MadCatz, since he needed money for soccer cleats and regular shoes later on. After we bought the pad, we walked around the mall for a while looking for shoe stores, but found none that he liked well enough to check out the selection. Picky, picky. -.-; I went into (spare me, please!) Hot Topic for a second looking for a sticker of Incubus or Sublime or something for my new (and quite plain) wallet, but I didn't find anything that interested me. When we were walking back to the way we came in, we found this machine that cost 50 cents for 2 tries at stopping this arrow going around to get on a number that got the light to get up to Win. There were five steps that were below that, however, and you had to get numbers that would get you up all of those steps to the Win. And win, you would! They had GameBoy Advance games, a GameBoy Advance itself, PS2 games, and other nice stuff. And the games were good, too. I'm talking SSX3, Metroid Zero Mission, Soul Calibur 2, etc. Of course, we spent like 5 dollars trying to get it, but we never did. We got up to step 5 plenty of times, though. The machine is rigged! >:O So then these little 8th graders come up. LOL! They're like these punk kids who thought that the game was so easy, and left it up to one of their friends who was a "master" because, quote, "he plays video games." XD And then after they kept losing, they turned to us and were like, "we could easily beat you guys in basketball. We could beat you in a race, too. You wanna fight? We'll beat you up!" Me and David: O.o Here were these 5 foot tall kids says this to a 6 foot tall and 5 foot 7 kid with straight faces. *shakes head* What is today's youth coming to? Why do all of these challenges make a difference? lol

We left the mall after this small encounter and went to a shoe place nearby that David had been to before, and he bought some cleats and shoes. This kind of put us in an awkward position, however. Going to the small store set us off course, and when we started going where we thought was the right direction, we ended up going by things that we deffinitly did not remember. So we got off the beltway and were driving for a while, not truely knowing if we were going the right way, and luckily saw a sign for a street that we saw on our way to the mall because I was joking about the name to my friend - Davidsonville road. I swear, it was by bigger miracle that we got home than making it there in the first place with pouring down rain.

At his house, we broke out the new dance pad of his, and confirmed it's suckiness. When you dance, it feels like you're dancing on a plastic bag. :/ It didn't take that many songs before I got tired and finally went to bed on the couch.

That morning, we had to get up kind of early for my friend to go babysit somewhere and for me to warm up for my soccer game. The game was at 3:30 against a team with their best player being someone that usually plays travel and on school teams. I was actually surprised to see him in a rec league. Their team ended up winning with a score of.. a lot to 4. I had three goals, but I'm sure the travel kid must have had that many if not more. If that wasn't enough, we had another game on Sunday at 1, the earliest game so far this season. Luckily, however, we faced a fairly easy team, and won 10-4. Perhaps it wasn't so much that they were easy, but we were getting better at working as a team. I only had 2 goals this game, but I had 2 assists, and this one kid had 5 goals. I didn't care; this was the first game that we actually won! That makes 9 goals for me this season, though I won't be able to play next week because we're going to New York City for my brother's birthday. So if you live in New York.. watch out. :o

After the soccer game, my brother really wanted to see a movie, so he saw Man On Fire with my mom, and I saw Kill Bill vol. 2 again with my dad. I caught a few more things in the dialogue here and there, so seeing it again wasn't all worthless. Besides, I enjoy watching a movie multiple times. ^_^

I guess that just about covers it for the weekend. All that really happened today that was different than usual was that my teacher let us play my CD during computer class after showing him the lyrics on particular songs. It was the newest Incubus CD, if you're wondering. Oh! I almost forgot about my Physics lesson today, which I found very facinating. o.o It was all about the optical waves which deals with seeing light and everything. To start off, when you see color, you are seeing light being reflected off of an object. If you see someone with a red shirt on, you may percieve the shirt as being red, but it is actually absorbing every other color and reflecting red. So in reality, that shirt is every color except the color red. Black absorbs all colors, and white reflects all of them. That was the easy round. Next, he told us that light moves at a very fast speed, but it moves at a speed nonetheless. This means that light takes a certain amount of time to get to your eye, and the further you are from an object, the longer it takes for that light to reach your eye. Now choose an object across the room. That object is in the past. To a very small degree, being something like 10 to the -8 or something, you are seeing that object as it was that very short time ago. The sun is approximately 8 light minutes from Earth, which means that when you look at the sun, you are seeing it 8 minutes in the past. If the sun were to blow up, you couldn't see the explosion for another 8 minutes. The next closest star is about 86 light years away, according to my teacher, which means that when we look at it, we are seeing it as it existed 86 years ago. This branch of physics, according to him, does prove time travel as being scientifically possible, though currently experimentally impossible because of the tools we are currently using. The next thing that he told us is that because all you are really seeing it light, not an object, if you were to bend light like what you would see in a straw being half in and half out of water, you could make it so that light would go around and object, and you could not see it. Hence, he stated that it is also possible according to the laws of physics, to create a suit that makes you invisible to the human eye. According to him, such a suit is aparently under developement. Just imagine if the military got their hands on that..

Oh well, that's all for now. Quite a long post, I know. I don't blame you if you don't feel like reading it all, lol.
