   A Wee Bairn

There has been a new addition to our family. My aunt had her baby, on the 21st I think (good news travels fast, ne?). A little girl named Emma May.

I pray she and my aunt are both doing well. She had complications with her fist two births, so . . .

Anyway, CONGRADULATIONS AUNT TRACY! I LOVE YOU!
AND EMMA: WELCOME TO THE WORLD!
*hugs for both*

Sad. So sad.

If you look at my quiz results you will see what I'm talking about. It's pathetic! I swore off these quizzes! I never wanted to do any of them!

*sighs*

Oh well. can't do anything 'bout it now, can I? I'm becoming addicted. To these, at least.

Oh, D-sama and I started a new story! We're in the planning process now.

Fun!

   Fini

The first chapter of my and D-sama's story is finished. Finally. It took about a month. I guess it was worth it . . . I don't know. The last part was basically me alone, so it sounds like crap. There was so much I forgot. *sighs* I think my main problem is that I don't really know Logan. I know what happened to him, but I don't know HIM.

His mother was a prostitute living and working in New Orleans. She wasn't even twenty at the time, not ready for a child - didn't want the responsibility either. Probably would have shoved him off on his dad, except she didn't know who his dad was. He was a client. That was all. So instead, she puts him up for adoption. And he is adopted by a really sweet, wonderful couple, who love him very, very much. For six years he has the perfect life, the kind where you get cookies every day after school and never have to worry about where this meal is coming from or whether or not you're loved. His dad even starts teaching him how to play the guitar (so cute!).
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. This is no exception. His parents die. In a car crash. It was bad weather, rainy and foggy, and I think by that point it was starting to get cold out. The father died instantly. The mother died after a week of being in a coma. The saddest part is that she was pregnant. A little over a month at that point. He stays with some old friends of the family until a foster home is found for him. This, too, seems good at first. For about a week Logan has a relatively easy time of it. The lady is nice, the guy distant, but who cares? Then, the father comes home drunk. He is not a good drunk. Not at all. He's an abusive drunk. He beats his wife (who really is a sweet woman) and 'plays' the the little girls staying with them. He hits everyone in the house that gets on his bad side. Logan gets a lot of of the slaps and punches, because he isn't the type to just sit by and watch someone get hurt. He will try to help. He gets locked up in the closet a lot and forbidden to eat as a punishment. It ends when he actuallly sees the bastard do something to one of the little girls and tells (the old family friend). It ends badly for the man (YES!). He goes to jail. He also beats Logan black and blue for telling when he finds out. Logan runs away, since there aren't any other kids left. He has had enough. He goes to stay with the old family friend again, this time for a longer period of time. He is adopted again, by a nice man who lives in New York. He and his wife can't have children (his wife has AIDS) so adoption really is their only option.

*yawns* Geez. I'm tired. I'm only halfway done, but I think I'll stop anyway. I'm tired. And I know none of you care. If you read this at all, you're probably bored stiff.

Whatever.

Bye bye!

*goes at ugly tree with an ax*

Well, the tree looks horrible. Seriously. Half of it blinks. The top half, too, which doesn't help. Didn't have enough colored lights to go around. Dad said he would go in for a couple of boxes, though. After those go on (and they will. I don't care what I have to do) maybe it will look better. Guess we'll have to see. Maybe add a few more ornaments to boot.

Thanksgiving is nine days away!

   Christmas Tree!

Putting up the Christmas Tree tonight! Yay!

Nothin' wrong with starting early, is there? Noooo. Besides, Christmas spirit is always in short supply around here, gotta start as soon as possible to get anywhere.

   OVERWHELMED!

I feel like screaming and crying and kicking.

I think I will scream:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

There. I don't feel better.

I am getting so sick and tired of everything. Life is getting so freakin' complicated and guess what: I'm not mature enough to deal with it. Any of it.

I want to be a three year old again, completely oblivious to everything around me.

Whatever.

Have class. Should get going.

   I DID IT!

Went to work with my dad today and, AND, got my temps. Yeah. Hold the applause. I actually did better this time around. By about 10 points. I only missed 5 out of the 50 questions. *is proud of self* Now I just have to learn to drive. Heh. We'll just see how that goes. Hopefully I don't kill anyone or crash/total any cars.

The work wasn't so bad. Hard, took hours, but it wasn't so bad all things considering. It actually felt good to be lifting stuff and moving it around. And Monday I get paid. I also got an offer to help more, so apparently I didn't do too bad a job. : )
Poor Logan baby. He works at a loading dock. What I did for one day, he does every day and for three times as long. No wonder he's so tired. I've come to the conclusion that he would have very calloused hands and . . . not bulky muscles, but he wouldn't be a shrimp. That's for sure.

*sighs* Stupid Sue Hamman. I still haven't finished that freakin' paper. I also have reading to do for Philosophy of Religion. AHHHHH! Oh well. I guess I can handle it until December.

Okay. I'm done. IF I'M ALLOWED I'm going to read. I'm reading a book called Rose Daughter by Robin McKinley . . . maybe. If I can get myself to concentrate. I have three more books to read that I got from the library. I want to try to get them finished by the end of the month.

Byeeee!

Do Ah Diddy Diddy Dum Diddy Do

I have to get up at 5 AM this Saturday (not looking forward to it one bit, no I am not). I'm helping my dad at work, taking down some cubicles or something like that. He said something about getting paid $70 for that. I don't know if he meant total or what, but some money is better than none. I am also, finally, finally, getting my temps - after two freakin' months. YAY! I'll be able to drive! Well, soon anyway. Heh. He wants me to drive from to RDI from the test place, though, which I don't think is a very good idea. I am not exactly comfortable with driving. One of the reasons it has taken this long to get me to try. If I don't end up wrecking it will be a miracle, but he wants me to try, so there is very little else I can do. *sighs* I just hope we survive.

D-sama and I are going to see The Incredibles tonight. Can't wait! One of those dorky things you can't help.

Gosh, it's good to act like a kid. Keeps ya young.

*smiles*

   Reign

Well, I'm seriously considering revamping a three year old idea of mine for a story. I've said this same thing before, but this time I think I might actually mean it. I love the characters and I don't want to let them die. Same thing with K,S&E. I don't want them to die either. I've been living with them for seven years or so. Too long to let them go.

Reign is basically a fantasy. I don't even know what I'm going to do with it. I want to keep the Forest in there, 'cause I like the idea a lot. Its a place set outside the natural order of things. You forget everything for a time once you enter (until you are ready to remember), and entering is in itself a very difficult thing to do 'cause its all magicked out. Its a prison for a 'god' who fell in love with a mortal woman, which to the Immortals is a crime. They also had a child, a daughter, which is an even bigger no no to them.
You know, maybe I ought to use that whole daughter thing. The Temple of the Moon could have been founded by his daughter, who, being half Immortal, would have certain powers.
Then again, that might be making things a little complicated, even more than they already are and Lord knows I don't need that.
Anyway. So, Cairan was imprisoned for his 'crimes.' Meanwhile, another of the Immortals, Fianne, is plotting to destroy the entire Mortal realm. See, she is one of those wacked out psychopaths on a power trip that want to get rid of anything and everything that she sees as inferior, i.e. the entire human race and the place in which they live, bringing everyone else down with them. Furthermore, she wants to do it using the Orb of Kayeln. In the beginning the nine Immortals used chaos to create the planet earth (we'll just say it's earth, okay?), then, not being able to get rid of it completely, kinda shoved it into the Orb, because although chaos can be used to create, it can also be used to destroy. They entrusted it to the Elves for safe keeping, as they were the only race that wouldn't get power hungry and blow everything to kingdom come.
I told you this was complicated.
There are many, many Elven civilizations spread across the map, so Fianne has a hard time finding it. She somehow gets a seat of power during this time and is creating mass destruction and all out war in the process of finding this thing and has been for like fifty years. The Elves at some point get the Orb to the Priestesses of the Moon. They are better equipt to protect it, especially since 1. they have powers, too, and are about the only humans that do, and 2. the longer an Immortal stays in the Mortal realm the weaker they become, so by the time Fianne figures out where it is the priestesses have a pretty good chance of taking her on and winning. But the head priestess has a niece, Liadan, that she had never met but still loves very, very much and Fianne finds this out and after having the girl kidnapped uses her as a bargaining tool. Basically, give me what I want or you'll never see the girl again. Btw, Fianne sends her to the Forest, since very few people know about it and ever fewer can actually get in there even if they did know about it.
There are only three people living in the Forest. Cairan, as mentioned before, and two children that 'happened' to wander in there named Rhyn and Maddox. Maddox is a blind half Elf (*smiles and glomps Maddie-chan* he's my baby) and Rhyn . . . well, she has the potential to be something very great and Cairan knows it and is teaching her everything she will need to know in order to control and use whatever abilities she has been given. Right now, that basically consists of learning herb lore and practical healing skills and the like.
It is Rhyn that finds Liadan, unconscious and badly beated under a willow tree. As you might have guessed, she brings her back to the little cottage they live in.
Liadan is already having dreams about her aunt, the High Priestess, although she has no idea who the woman is. She was raised by her 'aunt' and 'uncle' in a small village. She has no idea who her real parents were. She thinks they died in a raid. In reality, they were killed for politcal reasons and Liadan's 'aunt' and 'uncle' were really long time servants of her father's family. She also has a fiance named Jan, who is the only one that remembers Liadan after she disappears (his parents think he's crazy). Fianne figured it might cause her too many problems if there were people coming after the girl. A small inconvenience, but one that can be avoided.
Jan, of course, goes looking for his woman, along with Liadan's 'cousin,' Niamh, who is in love with him. She gives him up when she realizes that he is in love with someone else and that someone else was very important to her even though she can't remember her. Jan and Niamh, in turn, get taken prisoner by a rebel camp (rebel as in opposing Fianne), which is run by Rhyn's older brother, Liam, who she thinks is dead like the rest of her family.

That is all I know, right there. The only other thing I can tell you is this: Rhyn, Maddox, and Liadan are sent from the Forest and eventually the two groups meet up, then go kick some Fianne butt. Most of them have suffered at her hands: Rhyn's mother, father, and baby sister were killed (and, she thought, her brother), her grandfather was sold into slavery; ditto for Liam (he thought Rhyn was dead, too); Maddox lost his entire family, his village, and his eyesight; Liadan was beaten and thrown headlong into something way too big for her to understand; Jan 'lost' his fiance . . . They were all affected so they all have reason to want fight.

Wow. This is waaay long. I'm going to stop now before you all fall asleep on me.

Bye bye!
