waaahhh!
*sighs* I hate the word 'analysis'. Bad, word! Bad! In english we have to do an analytic essay on a short story or two short stories by the same person. I'm thinking about doing mine on Two Kinds (from The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan) 'cause I love the book. Either that or The Lottery, just 'cause that story is freakin' psycho. But, then for all I know that one is on the syllabus and we're not allowed to use assigned stories. GAH, I hate this crap! I hate having to think about what the author is trying to say in a story, when there is no way we can't know unless we ask, and, let's face it, that isn't likely. Most of 'em are dead.
The good news is, for our research paper we can do a novel instead of a short story. I'm thinking of either doing mine on something by Orson Scott Card or Stephen King, since I'm not allowed doing Amy Tan. She said I couldn't, 'cause I already did senior year. Picky, picky, picky.
